Generous Runners, a Giveaway, a Winner, and New Disney Medals Revealed

Happy Monday gang!

Did you all have a fabulous weekend. The weather was just beautiful here. Was it beautiful where you live too?

I got a very fun package in the mail on Saturday!  I won a giveaway from Alicia at In Healthy Habits We Trust! Alicia's is having some dietary issues that she is trying to work through. In the process, she has found that she can no longer tolerate certain energy gels and running fuels. Because of this, she was generous enough to host a giveaway for all the products that she can no longer use in hopes that another runner can use them. I was the lucky runner who won them!

I loved the fun packaging and the thoughtful card.

This is the loot she sent me!

I can add it to my basket of running goodies. That's right. I have a basket of running snacks that I only use for a treat on the days that I run. Its good motivation!

The other day I was at the store and I got some Clif bars for .70 cents each! That just made my day!

Okay, so do you remember that we were doing a giveaway for a Flip Belt?

Well the winner is:

Amy Please contact us for your prize!

And one more things I wanted to announce on this Monday.  I'm not normally one who wants to know what the medals look like for a race.  I actually like the element of surprise. I just happened to see on social  media this weekend the medals for  Disney's Tower of Terror weekend.

( I'm sorry I do not have a photo credit for this)

The TOT medal is basically the same as previous years but I have to say that the Happy Haunted 5K medal is just awful and I am a tad disappointed. I was hoping for a medallion like previous years with a cute Mickey and Minnie on it dressed in their Halloween costumes!  I can't tell completely what the 5k medal is, but it looks like the hitchhiking ghosts!

What do you think of the TOT weekend of medals?  Will you be running any races that weekend?

  2. I love the hitchhiking ghosts, but (granted the picture looks fuzzy) it looks jammed together and too much in the design.

    1. If I hadn't already seen what the previous year's medals looked like, I probably wouldn't have minded it so much!

  3. I love that you have a basket of goodies just for runs! One of my birthday presents was a flipbelt. I wore it for my 10k race (breaking the rule of not trying something on race day for the first time) and I have to say that I love it! I definitely see it being useful once I get to longer runs.

  5. Yay! Glad you got the goods :) I always get nervous that mail I sent never arrives. Hope you find something you love!

I want to run TOT next year, assuming there isn't a Paris race during the fall. Hopefully the medals will be fun then!

As for the TOT medals, the 5K one does look kind of busy but I do like the hitchhiking ghosts on it!

  7. Nice haul of loot....nice to get new gels to try too! I thought the 5k medal was also pretty poor. However, the TOT one is fine and that is the only one we will get that weekend.

  8. Very fun giveaway you won! I've tried the Eboost drinks and because they are so low in calories on days I need a little extra treat or something to drink besides water they are what I have been using lately:)

  10. How fun are those medals!
I need a basket - I keep all my gels & jelly beans in a ziplock bag. I want something prettier :)

  11. I love the basket idea, I have my running snacks in a messy pile in a cabinet in the kitchen. I think a basket would be a better way to contain them! :)
