Labradors do the darndest things........

Happy Friday Folks! We are linking up with the gals again ( Courtney, Mar, and Cynthia) for  the Friday Five and this week's theme is "About Me".  You may have remembered earlier this month we did a post about us.  If you didn't get to read it and you want to know a little more about us and all of our secrets, you can read that HERE.   For this post, we are going feature something that is a huge part of  our lives.....Our Labradors.

Yes, we think our Labradors are human. They act like it. And truth be told, they are better behaved than some children we've encountered!  I kid ( kind of).
If you have a Labrador than you know exactly what we are talking about. If you don't have one, well then here is a peek into our world.................................

1. They love their vacations...........

Whether they are real vacations to the beach or just day trips to the playground or amusement park, they certainly know how to have fun!

2.  Labradors are water dogs so of course they LOVE Swimming.............

This dog has her own raft and I swear to goodness she will pull it into the swimming pool all by herself, walk down the steps, get herself on the raft, and float. When she is done, she will get off the raft and pull it out of the pool. Don't believe me? I actually have a video of her doing it.

And when they are not swimming, they find other ways to be in water.
I give you Exhibit A
and Exhibit B

3. Did someone say car ride? I take Baylee with me a lot of places so naturally every time I walk out the door she thinks she is coming with me.

I take her with me when I am doing small errands and she can stay in the car. (Like this pictures from when she waited for me at the Library).  Sometimes I get nervous when I do this though. I pray to god that she is still there when I come back to the car!  She is seat belted in, so I know she's not going anywhere, but I worry that  since she is so cute that someone might steal her! ( I must teach her about Stranger Danger...lol)

I get such sad eyes from her when I tell her she has to stay home.

But she waits for me patiently.

4. They love dressing up....

No, really, they do. They told us
.

5. And since this IS mostly a Fitness blog I guess we'll show this picture too.

She just can't seem to let me on the yoga mat by myself. She always has to be a part of what I am doing. Buts that's okay because I wouldn't want to be with out her anyway!

Are you a pet person? Do your pets do crazy things?

  3. I love all these adorable pictures of your dogs! I too treat our dog like a human being. He is a huge part of our lives, and like you, we try to keep him as involved in our lives as possible.

    1. I love when we can take our dogs to do things with us and get sad when we come across parks and other places that don't allow dogs :(

  4. Love it! What sweetie pies! My cats refuse to do any dressing up but our Golden would for sure! Although Goldens are water dogs, Obie does not like water. We took him to the beach and he didn't like it. We set up wading pools for him in the summer and he'll only get in if we walk him in and sit with him and he looks miserable! Now mud puddles are an entirely different story, those are his very favorite!

  5. So cute! I love the photo with the mickey ears. I can sometimes ambush my cats and dress them up but then they always look at me like I've betrayed them.

    1. I am surprised I well these labs let us dress them up and basically do anything to them. I think they like the attention!

  7. Labs are such great dogs. My friend has two of them, and I love them like their my own. Great dispositions. My dog is a wee bit smaller though. Shih-tzus were better apartment dogs when I got her so that's why I got the mini dog. Our next dog will be a Lab or Retriever mix. I want a dog to run with me.

    1. Yes, Labradors are great. Mine runs with me but we can't do more than three miles together and we have to take stop and sniff breaks every once in a while...haha

  9. Great pictures. I think labradors always look very friendly. I was once bitten by a big bad bouvier, and since then dogs scare me a bit. But yours look nice.

    1. I was bit by a dog when I was younger so there are still certain breeds I am not that fond of.

  10. Must be great to have a water dog that loves water. We had a golden retriever when I was growing up and our beagle (the alpha dog) taught her to hate water. All other goldens I've seen just love the water, but not Brandy.

    1. oh no! I don't know too many retrievers that don't like water. Our Belle was a little hesitant at first until my dad through her in the pool one day as a pup. Now she jumps right over the gate to go swimming!

  12. Love this! I have a retired racing greyhound, and he loves the water. He can't swim (I don't know if he's even able because his body shape is so odd with an enormous chest and smaller backend?), but he loves to go into water, lie down, drink the water, and relax. There is a dog-only pool at a dog park near me that I take him too a lot, and there are always labs there, though they actually swim! Oh, and we took our greyhound on vacations and weekend trips too. He loves it!

  18. What sweet puppies you have! I love the photo in the dishwasher--priceless! I have a little schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle mix) and she just brings so much fun and joy to our family, and yes, she does crazy things! Like, she loves chewing gum! She can smell it and will dig it out of purses, garbage, etc. Stinker!

  19. I'm not a dog person, but if I did get one, it would 100% be a lab. They are just too cute and too smart and too friendly! And yours are super adorable

  24. I wish Buddy would be more chill in the car like that, then he could go more places! But he has a nervous breakdown if I even get out of the car to put something in the mailbox without him - he cries and jumps back and forth between the seats. Crazy dog.

  27. Love this post! Dogs are the best! :-)

  28. As a sister Lab mom, I can so relate to all of this. Except the dressing up. You've never seen a dog move so fast as when I try to put my Minnie bridal ears on her. However, she does have quite an impressive collection of bandannas! And water? That Wonder Mutt will jump into our friend's pool so much she'll end up ripping off a pad. Every time. Couldn't care less. Pyscho puppy. :)

  29. I have one thing to say.....I'M TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH THIS POST! Oh my goodness, it's just oozing with cuteness!! And I completed agree, our furkids are so much like humans, it's funny!! <3 Thanks for sharing your pups with us!

  30. Adorable! Such cute photos and tidbits about your pups. Love the costumes. I think a lot of dogs act human as well, and of course the two I have are my children! Haha.

Whenever I am working out and have to do some floor exercises, my one dog always comes over and either sits right by me or stands above me sniffing my face. Makes it hard to do anything, but it is very cute.
