When you book a room at Disney's Coronado Springs resort, you have several options. Do you want a room in the main building, which would be in the Gran Destino Tower? Or do you want a room in the Village, which would be the motel style rooms that you can access from the outside like the other moderate style resorts at Disney World.
If you are thinking about a Gran Destino Tower room, please check out THIS POST we wrote all about the Tower.
If you want a room in the Village, keep reading because there are more options than you probably realize!
The Village is a combination of three sections of the resort, the Casitas, the Ranchos, and the Cabanas. The "preferred" rooms are in the Casitas and the Cabanas because they are the closest to El Centro, where the food court, shops, etc. are.
We had a room in the Casitas.
We had just a standard room with 2 queen beds.
I actually loved our view .
We were on the 4th floor
The one thing I miss at Coronado Springs that we have at other moderate resorts is the table and two chairs that are usually near the window. Coronado Springs does not have that table, and there is only one chair here.
My guess as to why there is not table and chair set is because the room has this very long desk/work space and its own chair to go with it.
There is also a coffee station here.
The South Western art is keeping with the theme here, and so cute that it is Disney characters.
There is a solid door that separates the bedroom area from the bathroom area.
We really enjoyed the double sinks here. We've stayed at some Deluxe resorts where we only had one sink, so this is a nice treat.
We also like having this closet/armoire to hang some clothes in. There is also an iron and ironing board in here that we made use of.
The bathroom in our room only had a shower but there are some rooms that have a bathtub/shower combination. If you specifically need a bathtub in your room you can request one.
These are the Cabanas. Buildings on this side of the resort are located on a sandy beach. Access to the water is prohibited, but you can put your toes in the sand and relax on a hammock. Rooms in the Cabana buildings are set up the same as the Casitas. Unlike the Casitas, which could be up to four stories, the Cabanas are only two stories. The section offers a more laid back vibe.
The Ranchos buildings are set way back and sort of secluded. For that reason, I did not get a photo of those. The Ranchos are more of a rustic, Pueblo style building.
What makes this moderate resort unique is that it also has some suites in the village ( and in the tower).
It is also the only moderate resort to offer "Club Level" access ( in tower rooms).

The majority of the one bedroom suites are located in the preferred Casitas buildings. There are two options for one bedroom suite. You can get either 2 queen beds and a queen sleeper sofa for up to 6 guests, or you can get a king room. The king will have one king bed and a queen sleeper sofa for up to 4 guests.
Another type of suites in the Casitas are the Executive suites. This suite has 1 king bed, 2 queen beds, and 1 queen sleeper sofa for up to 8 guests.
The cost of the suites are about 3 times the price of a standard room here at Coronado Springs. Depending on how much room you need, you would be better off just booking 2 standard rooms.
We have stayed in rooms in both the Village and the Destino Tower and we really enjoyed both. If you want to learn more about the resort and amenities it offers please check out Our Guide to Disney's Coronado Springs resort.
