A Day in Tokyo : Shibuya Crossing

The last day in Tokyo, we checked out of the hotel ( they were able to keep our luggage) and we took the train to downtown Tokyo to do some shopping. The subway stations here are very clean compared to the States, and it is very quiet. It is frowned upon to talk while in the subway. I think it's a cultural thing.

We started in Shibuya Crossing and saw the Shibuya Crossing dog statue (His name is Hachiko, a famous Akita dog). This place is a pretty popular meeting spot and the dog statue is a symbol of devotion in Japan.
The Crossing is a famous intersection that is always busy and reminded me of Times Square in NYC.

See, even the famous dog is on some of the signs here!

The next stop was the Starbucks at Shibuya Crossing. The view from Starbucks was overlooking the Crossing.
The Signature drink for the Cherry Blossom season was a White Peach & Sakura Latte.

I also got a green tea matcha cake

After our Starbucks visit, we visited the Disney Store. Having been to both Disney Parks in Tokyo while we were there, we thought it was only fitting to check out the store as well. Again, since it was Cherry Blossom Season, they had signature stuffies there that were dressed for the season. I don't remember seeing any of these at the Parks, so I am glad we came here. They had Mickeys and Minnies in kimonos so I picked up a few.

After shopping, we had Ramen for lunch.

I chose the shrimp wonton and it was delicious.

On the table there was plenty of seasonings and spices you could add to your dish.

After lunch we did more shopping at a local drug store. It had several floors with anything you were looking for. They had great Japanese brands of skincare and makeup that you cannot get in the states. I stocked up on that as well as some unique snacks you can't find anywhere else.

The prices there were very reasonable and I could've shopped there another hour for more goodies. I was so glad to have packed a foldable duffle bag to be able to check on my flight home.
We packed a lot in for such a short time in Tokyo. I'd love to come back and do some more exploring of the city of Tokyo and surrounding areas. Until next time.~L
