Narcoosse's is the octagon shaped restaurant that overlooks the Seven Seas Lagoon at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. It is mostly known for its seafood, but there is much more on the menu!

Narcoossee's was recently updated, so we thought we would check it out.  This was a last minute decision for us, so I don't think we had advanced dining reservations ( which of course is highly recommended for this restaurant), but since it was just the two of us we hoped to get a seat at the bar.

The interior of the restaurant has been painted and the woodwork has been lightened up. It's given more "coastal vibes".

As we hoped, we got a seat at the bar right away and was served our own carafe of water for the two of us!
Drinks at Disney Restaurants, Grand Floridian
Our bartender/server was so friendly and attentive. We enjoyed watching him create drinks. We were the only ones sitting at the bar for an extended period of time, so we got to have a lot of conversation with him. This is totally one of the perks of sitting at the bar!

We started with some bread service with a type of honey butter.

Lacey started with a glass of red wine, while we decided what else we wanted. We didn't want to get anything too heavy because after dinner we would be going to Magic Kingdom and having some of our favorite treats!

Lobster Bisque
Lacey ordered a bowl of Lobster bisque, which she said was very good and flavorful.

Sweet and Sour Brussel Sprouts
I ordered the sweet and sour Brussel Sprouts with applewood bacon. I generally enjoy the roasted Brussel Sprouts with Balsamic vinaigrette and these tasted very similar, but maybe a little less tangy. This looks like it it a small serving, but that is deceiving, it was plenty. Between the two of us, we couldn't
I also ordered one of the salads. I forget which salad this was, but I do not see it on the menu any longer. I think it was one that came with some sort of citrus dressing.

When we were finished with our food, the nice bartender made us a mini dessert cocktail. It was some kind of Key lime pie drink with a meringue on top.  It was so cute and I wish I would have taken a picture of it. I did take a sip, but I do not usually drink alcoholic beverages, so I gave mine to my sister.

Before leaving, we had to take a walk outside on the deck to check out the views.

As you can see, the Contemporary Resort is right across the lake. Behind us is Magic kingdom and a view of the castle.

We had to zoom in a little, but there she is, Cinderella Castle!

Things to consider when dining at Narcoossee's.

*Although this is considered a seafood restaurant, there are options that are not seafood.

* This is considered an upscale restaurant, but it is family friendly. There were small children and high chairs there while we were there.

* There is a lovely wrap around deck on this restaurant that has some great views of the water and other resorts BUT you can not sit out here. There are no tables.

* Because this is considered an upscale restaurant, it is rather pricey. Consider splitting an entree.

* Yes, you can see the Magic Kingdom Fireworks from this restaurant. They even pipe in the music.

* On the website, it does say there is a dress code at this restaurant. However, it said that about California Grill as well and many guests where there in their park clothes ( shorts and t-shirts).  We always recommend dressing up, it's more fun!

* You do need to put a credit card on file when making a reservation. If you fail to show up for your reservation ( without cancelling or modifying) you will get charged a per person fee.

I can now officially say, I have eaten at every restaurant at the Grand Floridian! I have not reviewed all of them, but you can read the ones I have reviewed below.

We ate at Citricos for one of our anniversary's but I did not write a blog post about it ( yet).

Also, I have yet to write a review on Gasparilla Grill.....it's coming!

We hope these first hand accounts/ reviews help you plan your next trip to Disney World!

 Till next time ~ M and L
