Flip Belt and a Summer GIVEAWAY!

Happy Friday everyone! These week just went entirely way to fast. June will be over before we know it!

Today you are going to get Two perspectives (one from Lacey and one from Meranda) on the same product.

When I was at the Big Sur Marathon Expo back in April, I purchased a Flip Belt.

I've heard many good things about this product prior to buying it.  WE RUN DISNEY posted about this and I've been wanting to get one since then but I was afraid to order one not being able to try it on, just in case it wouldn't fit. So I was happy to see that they were at the Big Sur Expo.
Here are our 5 thoughts!
1. I was debating between two sizes, and I ended up getting the bigger of the one. When I tried them on I put it over my jeans I was wearing and didn't think it would ride up too much, but I was wrong (guess I should've factored that in).

I wish I would've gotten the smaller one instead. Even though it slid up a bit, it didn't bother me and it was still very comfortable. I like that it laid flat against you and it wasn't bulky at all.

2.This is the only race I had ever brought my phone with. Last year, I carried it the whole time. So this year I wanted to find something I could place it in, even with the otter box case on it. The phone fit perfectly in the belt, along with some GUs(guess I should've put all my GUs in there rather trying to put them in my arm sleeves). I'm not sure if you are suppose to keep it in the front on your stomach or around your back. I could feel it more on my front side so I turned it to my back and it didn't bother me at all DURING the race. However, after the race I was wondering why my lower back hurt so much. And that is the only thing I could think of that had to be. I guess it is true what they say, don't try anything new on race day. Maybe it would be great for smaller races, or even a half marathon. But it was too much pressure during the 4 hours for me. Maybe some people may have more tolerance than me.

3. I do like the concept of the belt. I thought everything that I placed inside the belt felt secure. Maybe a little too secure because it was hard to get my phone out to take pictures and put it back in quickly.    ~L

After hearing that my sister picked up a Flip Belt at the Big Sur Marathon, I knew I wanted to try one. As luck would have it, Flip Belt had sent me this one to review! ~M
4. Since my sister wished she had got a smaller size, she encouraged me to try out the XS one. ( They range in size from XS-S-M-L-XL). It fit nice and snug, Perfect!  The only negative I see is that it is weird for me to have to "Step" into this belt. I am so use to my other brands of running belts where I just snap it around my waist
5. I think this Flip Belt has become the modern day fanny pack. I haven't worn mine much yet, but I will consider wearing this on vacation (under my shirts of course).  I am unlike many gals in the fact that I hate carrying purses. I like to leave the house with as little as possible. I could see myself wearing this belt to the Disney Parks and other day trips.
It is so roomy that I can even fit my wallet in it. (after I put my shirt over the belt you couldn't even tell that I had it on.) After I put my wallet in it, I could still fit in my phone, some chap stick and a point and shoot camera and I still had room for more! I'm thinking I might start taking this to work with me when I have to go out on assignments. I can for sure fit my phone, camera, notepad and pen in here. Heck, even if you aren't a runner, this belt has so many uses for anyone that has to carry stuff!  I felt like a kangaroo!
You can purchase your own FlipBelt at Flipbelt.com or you can enter our giveaway!

So tell us, how do you currently carry your things while running? Confess, have you ever worn a fanny pack?

  1. I've been looking for a larger utility belt like this. Nothing wrong with a little fanny pack action.

  3. I have been wanting to try a flip belt forever! Maybe this is my lucky day! I've never worn a fanny pack running or otherwise :) I'd like to run with my phone but I don't want to carry it and I haven't found a comfortable belt to wear. Sadly it almost always stays home.

    1. Than that must only mean that you run very "light"! Lol

  5. Haha I have worn a fanny pack but it isn't like a *real* dad on vacation fanny pack. It is pretty slim and just expands depending on what you put in it. The most I have shoved in there at a time is phone, camera, tissiues, and salt tabs. Your fit belt looks much more trendy and up to date. 7. I have a flip belt, although it's also a size too large, I think (now, anyway - I bought it about a year ago). I haven't worn it in a while, basically since discovering SparkleSkirts, since I can put pretty much anything I need in the pockets. However, when I wasn't able to incorporate a SS in my PHM '14 costume, I used my flip belt instead. I like how secure it feels, its low profile, and how every inch of it is available for storage.

  8. I usually carry my stuff in my arm band, but sometimes that gets tight! I'd love to try a flip belt!

    1. Yes, you need a belt! I would think that arm band would be uncomfortable?

  9. I have been wanting to try a Flip Belt! It would be great for running and just out doing errands. It IS basically a fanny pack, but much cooler :) When I run, I just use an arm band for my phone.

  11. This is an awesome giveaway. I just watched the videos on these things - they look fantastic! I'd totally wear it on vacation myself too!!!

  12. Sounds like a great product. I'm a Sparkleskirts fan, so I get my phone, key and ID in the back zipper pocket, mace in one leg pocket. and fuel in the other.

  13. I love my flip belt! it does ride up a bit but it is sooo roomy and worked just fine for my half marathon!!

  14. I usa fitletic belt when I go out for runs – it holds my keys, phone, inhaler, chapstick, and kleenex. I'm sure I used a fanny pack when I was younger, and it was cool at the time ;) I've heard great things about the Flip Belt, though.

  15. Great giveaway! I have a run belt but it is so not what I would call comfortable, it was a last minute purchase at a race, and lets just say it causes a lot of chaffing, it ripped off all of my skin on my back along the belt once in a marathon, so just looking at the fabric on this I can tell it is a much better belt:)

  16. I've used a spibelt in the past, and I recently got a Sparkle Skirt that holds a lot. But not sure how much I am going to need for a marathon!

  17. It's really cute and less bulky looking than a lot of other belts. It looks more like the fabric of your clothes.

  18. I've never seen anything like this. but it looks cool and it looks useful for when you're traveling and you don't want to carry a lot of things.

  19. I like the way it looks. I don't like fanny belts, and this seems like a great alternative. They remind me of bondi bands a bit.

  20. Haha I felt like such a dork when I first bought my running belt, but I guess it's worth the fanny pack feel to have your stuff with you! I'm with you on not carrying my phone, but on race day if I'm trying to find someone I suck it up and stick it in the pouch. It's incredible how much the flipbelt can hold!

  21. I've heard nothing but awesome things about the FlipBelt. I tried a knock off brand that worked great the first time I wore it, and then didn't work well the remaining times. I've stuff everything I own into my pockets, or in a zip lock and into my sports bra!

  22. So I actually have two FlipBelts, for the exact reason you mentioned! I bought one at one of the Disney expos in a larger size because I was wearing it on my hips, over layers, etc., and it seemed the right choice, but then every time I ran with it I had to constantly slide it back down because it kept riding up. It's still AWESOME, don't get me wrong, because it fits SO much stuff and doesn't "bounce" and you really never even feel it. Then I was lucky enough to win a giveaway on another blog for a Flipbelt, and I ordered one size smaller -- perfect fit!

  23. I am impressed how much that little thing can hold! I really want to try one but don't want to order it online. I like to try things on before purchasing!
