We checked into the lounge at the stand outside of the Beak and Barrel and a cast member walked us in.
Immediately we were immersed into the pirate's lair. It was a little dark and moody in here, and there were a lot of noises that made us want to look every which way to see what was going on.
There are two dining spaces here. In the first room is the bar and some dining tables. In the second room, where we were taken, were some more tables and then some conversation seating areas ( chairs and little end tables).
We were seated at a large round booth table in the corner. We made the comment that this was such a large table for just the two of us. The server immediately let us know that we would be seated with another party. Shortly after we were seated, the waiter brought over another couple with two younger children ( under 3 years old). We were a little stunned at first, sharing a booth with strangers isn’t typical for Disney lounges, but it turned out to be perfectly fine. The family was polite, the kids were quiet, and the booth was large enough that everyone had space.
The server brought us some menus, and let us know that we had a 2 drink maximum, and a time limit of 45 minutes.
There are three non-alcoholic beverages on the menu and three appetizers. There are a variety of alcohol based drinks and all of them have a fun pirate theme.
For our appetizer we chose the Island Provisions for $16. This was basically chips and dips. The plate came with Plantain chips, blue corn tortillas, and toasted flatbreads. The dips included Mango Chutney, Garlic Chimichurri, Spiced Guava, and zesty Culantro Cream. These were actually pretty tasty, and like usual, we ran out of chips before we did dips!
Deciding on what drinks we wanted took a little more thought. The Treasure Trove was a non-alcoholic beverage that was served with a slice of cake, a chocolate ball, and popcorn. We thought this was going to be one of those milkshake type drinks that had all these desserts piled on top of it, similar to what we once got a Beaches and Cream. Although it was enticing, we decided against it.
Lacey got the Cursed Treasure, which was a blend of coconut milk and cookie crumbs topped with vanilla foam and pirate's gold chocolate cookie.I got the South Seas Splash, which was a tropical infusion of Sprite, pineapple, mango, and guava. My drink was very refreshing and almost tasted a bit like Ginger beer. Our drinks weren't anything pretty to look at, but they were enjoyable.
Oh, and about that Treasure trove drink we passed on, the other adults that were sitting at the table with us ordered that for their toddle son. The drink did not have all those desserts piled on top of it. The small slice of cake, chocolate ball, and popcorn were all placed on a separate plate.
While we were enjoying our food and drinks, the lights would start to flash and we heard some rumbling. There was a storm rolling through! This is all part of the immersive experience.
Boats inside bottles started to move, an animatronic parrot came out to talk, and cast members became more animated as they prepared for "the storm" inside the pirate's lair.
Beak & Barrel Pirate Lounge is a fun addition to Adventureland. It’s not a full dining destination, but it is a memorable experience thanks to its atmosphere, themed drinks, and playful pirate details. The shared seating and time limits are worth noting, but they didn’t detract from our visit. Even with shared seating, the experience felt unique and immersive. It’s not loud or chaotic, more of a moody, story‑driven hideaway perfect for a short break from the Magic Kingdom crowds. The lighting in this place does make it difficult to get really great photos ( for those of use who aren't great photographers).
Till next time~ M and L
