It's Oktoberfest time, and today we are celebrating it at the Germany pavilion in Epcot!
The main restaurant in the Germany pavilion is the Biergarten.
We decided we were going all out for this Oktoberfest celebration and dressed in drindles.
We did have a reservation here for lunch but this place has never been extremely hard to get into, so if you have a small party you might be able to walk right in.
As you enter, you are immersed into a quaint Bavarian village. The lighting is very dim in here because it is suppose to mimic a village at night time.
If you look up to the sky, you will even see the moon shining down.
The seating here is tiered, and in a horseshoe shape around a stage and dancing area. I thought we had a great table as far as location, but with this set up I suspect there really isn't a bad seat in the house!
Note: Tables here use to be long tables and you would end up sitting with other families. Since then the set up has changed. We had small square tables that seated four people. Tables can easily be pushed together for larger parties.
There is even a carving station.
There was a variety of cakes and tarts for dessert. I was a little disappointed that the famous Pretzel bread pudding was not offered on the buffet. I was also looking for some caramel treats, but none of those were there either. I guess they aren't going to give desserts that are sold elsewhere in the Germany pavilion.
5. It's a great value, (as far as Disney restaurants go). This meal cost less than any character meal on property. We didn't get characters, but we did get entertainment and I think (for adults) this was more enjoyable!
Till next time! ~ M and L
On the table was a card shaped like a Stine and on the back it had the story of how Oktoberfest got its start.
Take a look!
If you are hesitant about the food here because you think it will all be very "heavy", don't be. There is a variety of different meats and sides. not just Bratwurst and potatoes.
There are some German inspired dishes, but there is also a traditional salad bar, a variety of hot and cold vegetables, and sides.
There is even a carving station.
My personal favorite was the beer cheese soup and the pretzel rolls.
Lacey enjoyed the soup too! We may have to see if we can make this at home!
Here is a sampling of some other items we got.
Drinks are included with your meal. You can choose from sodas, tea, or juice. Alcohol drinks are extra. They have several German beers, beer flights, wines, and a few specialty drinks.
I actually have Apple juice in my mug!
We were there for about an hour and then the entertainment started.
There was a gentleman that played bells and made music with glasses. Then others that played their instruments.
When the band started playing guests were encouraged to dance in front of the stage. Several children and some adults did dance and it was fun to watch. After we were finished eating, we actually took out time (While Lacey finished her coffee) and enjoyed the entertainment.
This was the second time I've been to Biergarten and I would happily go back with anyone who wanted to experience it again (or for the first time). I think it's such a fun restaurant.
Top things we love about Biergarten!
1. The atmosphere says it all! We love a good themed restaurant and this one is one of the best on Disney property. In my humble opinion, it might just be THE best.
2. Along with the theming, you get "free" entertainment. The musicians here are really fun to watch and listen to.
3.This is a great restaurant for a large group, yet it still feels comfortable for smaller parties. I never felt it was too loud in there
4. The variety of food here is great. When we first booked this meal, I know my sister was more excited about the experience than she was about the food. Turns out, she really enjoyed the food. Even if someone in your party isn't in to German food, there are so many other items offered.
