Our first visit to Le Cellier in Disney's Epcot

Did you know that the Canada pavilion in Disney's Epcot is the only country that does not have a quick service dining location. It does have a popcorn and coffee cart and it does have the Northern Bloom booth that comes out during the festivals, but there is not a place to consistently sit down and have a quick meal.

One of our favorite items to get at the festivals is the Cheddar Cheese soup from the booth in Canada. Well, during this last visit to Epcot, we went when there was no festival. That means no Northern Bloom food booth in Canada. The only way we were going to get our Cheddar Cheese soup was to make a reservation at the very expensive Le Cellier Steakhouse! So we did.

I feel like the Canada pavilion is a hidden (not so hidden) gem, when it comes to the countries of Epcot. It's the country that everyone just walks past as they start (or end) their journey into the world showcase, but we hardly ever see many people exploring around the pavilion. I find this one to be quite peaceful.

Not only will you see a totem pole and some stunning architect, but you'll also find a wonderful waterfall, which I suspect is suppose to mimic Niagara Falls.

We made reservations here for lunch for shortly after noon.
We are full aware that this is a Steakhouse, but because we intended to continue to "snack around the world" we did not intend on getting a steak here, or a full meal.

As with all Disney restaurants,  the cast members are dressed in outfits that go along with the theme of the restaurant. The Canadian plaid fit in great here.  We checked in at the hostess desk and were seated with in minutes.

Le Cellier feels like stepping into a cozy Canadian wine cellar. It is dim, quiet, and perfect for some relaxation time away from the Epcot crowds.

The dining room boasts stone walls and wood accents. You'll find heavy wooden tables and chairs, wine racks, and cellar inspired details. It almost reminded me of being in a castle.

I normally do not like eating in restaurants that are dimly lit but I did feel like I had enough light at our table, so that was not an issue here.

The server came out with menus, but we already knew what we wanted,  a bowl of the Cheddar Cheese soup and pretzel bread.

We started off with drinks and our Cheddar Cheese soup and also planned to get another side dish or salad.

Although our soup came with pretzel bread, we were also given a basket of rolls for the table.  I think the rolls were pumpernickel.

This Cheddar Cheese soup is so good. It's so creamy, smooth, and flavorful. Dipping the pretzel bread in it is just chef's kiss!

By the time our server came back around, were were well into our soup and bread and had decided not to order anymore food.
Le Cellier Steakhouse at EPCOT was once considered a Signature Dining restaurant. For years, it required two Disney Dining Plan credits before being reclassified in 2016 to just a table service restaurant.

Even today, many guests feel Le Cellier still delivers a signature level experience from the steaks to the cozy cellar atmosphere.

It is considered a family friendly restaurant and has a Kid's menu. However, I think this place would be more enjoyable for adults and not so much for children.

Since it is indeed a steakhouse, there are a lot of heavy meat dishes on the menu. We are really glad that we got to eat inside this restaurant but I don't see us choosing this restaurant again during a casual park day. It just seems like a lot of heavy food to eat in the middle of the day. It is a pricey restaurant, so it may be a better choice if we were coming to Epcot only for a nice dinner to celebrate something.
