Our Guide to Disney's Beach Club Resort

If you have been a long time reader of our blog, you may remember that we had a goal ( or more like a challenge) to stay at each of the Disney Resorts. This year we got to check a few more off our list!
We stayed at the Beach Club prior to going on our Disney Cruise

The Yacht and Beach Club are actually connected. The Yacht Club is the grey and white building and the Beach Club is the blue building.

The beach club also has DVC rooms, which are in the green building.

When we arrived, we were greeted by a cast member dressed in a captain's uniform. We thought this was a nice touch.  Oh, and we had Stitch to help us check in.

The lobby is so beautiful.

The lobby was a great place to sit and relax. We even saw a few characters pass by during our stay.

We saw this model ship in the lobby and it made us even more excited to board our upcoming cruise!

We had a standard room, with a balcony. We did not request it, but we think this was a handicap room. Our door was one of those automatic ones!

Let's tour the room!

We had 2 luxurious queen beds and a daybed, which we did not use.

The daybed converts to a single sleeper. In all this room can sleep 5 adults.

The Disney touches!

We had a very large bathroom.

The shower was great with multiple shower heads ( again, I think this may have been a result of having the handicap room). And look how cute this shower curtain is!

Most of the standard and deluxe rooms have  a door between the sink/vanity area and the show/toilet area.

Ours was just one big room. Again, I believe this is because we had an accessible room.

We had a balcony, that was probably considered "garden view" but actually we could see the fireworks from our balcony.  I did not realize this until the fireworks were over.

Our balcony was more of a walk out "Juliet balcony". There was not enough room for a table and chairs.

5 Things we love about Disney's Beach Club Resort.

1. Location. I feel this one is a given. We love being in the Boardwalk area. We can easily walk to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and there are 4 additional resorts ( Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Swan, and Dolphin), to shop, eat, and find recreation at.

It's nice To be able to walk or take a boat to two of the parks and only have to rely on the Disney buses for the other two parks. Plus, you are a short walk from the Disney skyliner which gives you access to visit even more resorts.

2. The spacious rooms! It's just my sister and I who travel together, but we love having the space to spread out. Also, we love having a balcony, no matter where the room is located!

3.  The dining options! The Beach Club has some of the best dinning options.  We have done Cape May Cafe for both breakfast and dinner. Both meals are buffets. Characters show up at breakfast but not dinner. Dinner is a seafood buffet and it is very good. We've eaten here multiple times.

On the outside of the resort, you can access Beaches and Cream ice cream shop and diner.  They also have a walk up window.

For quick service options, you can find those at the Beach Club Market.

Across from the Beach Club Market you will find a covered patio area with plenty of tables and chairs for dining.

4. Character spottings. During our time at the Beach Club we had several character sightings in the lobby. Like I mentioned before, Cape May is not a character dinner but you could turn it into one if you headed to the lobby before your meal. Our reservations for Cape May was at 5:00pm and we met the characters in the lobby around 4:15pm. They stayed for about 10 minutes.

5. Additional Recreational offerings. Yacht and Beach Club is situated along Bayside Marina, where you can rent boats for fire works cruises, fishing excursions, or just to drive around the lake. Plus, you are close to Fantasia Gardens miniature golf and Jelly Rolls piano bar.

Often times there are classes being offered for an additional fee.

Oh and don't forget the "gem" of the Yacht and Beach Clubs, the pool! Stormalong Bay is probably the best pool on Disney property.

We could literally stay in this resort area and be entertained for several days without stepping foot in a park!

What is your favorite thing to do in this resort area? -M &L
