Coffee Talk and March Wrap Up

If we were having coffee, I'd tell you that I'm 2 for 2 already in doing the Monthly wrap up ( which is better than me trying to do the One Sentence a Day post that I've been attempting to do with my friend Rebecca Jo..lol). So why not continue the trend in March.

If we were having Coffee I'd just be over the moon about our weather here. when our calendar hit the first day of Spring, it's like God flipped a switched and said "These people deserve some sunshine and warmth". After what seemed like a long winter of snow and Covid, the first day of spring really did feel like a new awakening!

If we were having Coffee I'd tell you that we actually had a fabulous day OUT on the first day of Spring.

We went shopping for the dogs, had lunch al fresco at a new to me restaurant, hit up Trader Joe's, and Home Goods. It was a fabulous afternoon. The weather was great but what made it better is that Scott was on board with all the shopping. He went in every store and was an active participant.

If we were having Coffee I would of course have to talk about Sybie and all the things we are doing to try to get to the bottom of this itching.

Our newest thing is using this spray instead of a flea collar. It is an all natural repellent called Wondercide. So far we've been happy with it. But speaking of flea collar, If we were having coffee I would tell you how angry I am at Seresto. If you have a pet, you know how costly those Seresto collars ca be. I have to buy two of them. Last fall they were giving out a rebate. I filled out the rebate and was told I was getting $30 back. Well, I never got it and never got. I thought perhaps it took 90 days or apparently longer. Last month I called to investigate.  I was told that it was sent to my email ( from a suspicious email I might add, webmaster@apflo......).  Anyway I went through all my deleted emails and spam emails and I did not have anything from that address but if I would have, I probably WOULD have thought it was spam.  But anyway, I told the lady at Seresto and she pretty much told me too bad.  The rebate already expired back in January.  I asked her if she could please reissue it since I clearly never got it. She said NO.  It's a good thing I don't plan on buying anymore Seresto collars!

If we were giving coffee I'd tell you that I've been blogging from my phone because my laptop can't seem to keep a charge. I've been wanting to take it to Best Buy to see what can be done but I keep putting it off. Someone give me a nudge in the comments!

If we were having coffee I'd also share that our school has gone back to remote learning. It was only for one week and then it became two. hopefully we will all be back in the building after Easter.

And lastly if we were having coffee I would tell you that I received my new shoes ( to replace the ones that got stolen on my pre-Spring break trip). If you didn't read about my trip to the African themed Kalahari Resort and Spa, you can read that HERE!

If we were having coffee, hopefully what you would share would be more exciting than what I've shared about the month of March...lol  The most exciting thing was our trip to Kalahari!

Does your significant other like to shop?  Has Spring sprung where you are?  -M

I'm linking up with Deborah and Coco for their monthly Coffee Talk.

  1. Neither my hubs or I like to shop, lol. So we do a lot of online shopping! Glad you got your shoes.

You are dedicated to be blogging from your phone. There's no way I'd do that! I just got a new laptop and I love it.

    1. Yay for the new laptop! I really hope I don't need to buy a new one yet!

  2. There is no way I would have the patience to blog from my phone! It would take twice as long! I use my laptop for everything. Definitely take it in for service!

    1. I'm glad my phone is pretty user friendly and it doesn't take that long!

  3. SO definitely doesn't like to shop -- except on Amazon & Ebay, LOL! That day sounds marvelous.

Our weather is all over the place, we had some snow actually sticking this morning -- that is not unusual for us. What is unusual is we have had some Spring-like weather, and for that I am grateful!

Other than my first vaccine, nothing exciting to report. I really want to eat outside at a restaurant, but it hasn't happened yet and obviously with a morning in the 20s not gonna happen real soon. :(

Get that laptop looked at! Sorry about the rebate. We are trying some CBD oil for Bandit for a variety of reasons, including itchiness. I'm cautious about that, but it's recommended by a blogger I've followed for a long time & trust -- side effects include diarrhea & vomiting, which are already occasional problems, so we'll see.

  4. Poor pup. I am sure you've checked but do you think it may be allergies? And I ask because one of my previous dogs was itchy all the time and we checked for allergies to food. All came back negative. afterward we did a bunch of tests to check if it was environmental and it turns out she was allergic to jute, of all things, and at the time I had jute rugs everywhere. Hoping you can get to the bottom of it! Also, the Kalahari resort seems like so much fun! now i want to learn how to shape my towels in the shape of an elephant. :)

  5. I don't think I could write a blog post from my phone! I am the worst at typing on there and the typos drive me crazy!

  6. That is terrible customer service from Seresto! For some reason the app doesn't work well on my phone for editing/writing posts, but it is fine to respond to comments. That is oK since I prefer to use my computer for writing posts. Remind me but why did your school go back to remote learning?

  7. I can do notes on the initial blog post draft via my phone, but that's it. The app no longer lets me upload pics, and once I do get pics added (via my PC), any additional text (via phone) messes up all the placement and formatting. So, kudos to you! The hubs isn't a fan of shopping, but he will be a good sport if there's only a few stores on the roster.

    1. I actually think it is easier to upload photos from my phone rather than transfer them to my phone. Now making links is hard to do on my phone.

  8. Historically, spring has never been my favorite season (because of the allergies, haha) but I really like it this year. The weather has been so nice!

I'm really sorry to hear about the terrible customer service with Seresto. :[ Best of luck too in finding a new laptop (or replacement charger?)! I can do initial drafts with words on my phone app but I think adding pictures tends to mess up all the formatting, so major props that you've been able to do this on your phone!

    1. So far um really liking the spray. We spray them up every morning before they go out. We will see if it holds up this summer when it's really warm and ticks are more of a problem!

  10. es, our weather has been wonderful this spring. Until yesterday. Today was windy and temperatures in the 40s. I took my grandson to the park and almost froze!!!

My hubby just ordered a new battery because his laptop that wouldn't hold a charge either. It was a cheap and easy fix. Well worth it. Consider yourself nudged! :)

    1. My problem is actually the component inside the laptop that the charger plugs into! I hope I can find an easy fix!

  11. OMG, please drop everything and get that battery fixed!!! Life is too short to deal with wonky electronics and blogging from your phone.

  12. Sometimes my husband will shop with me and others I'll find him standing outside the store. Ugh.
That is very crappy customer service from Seresto. Shame on them. Geez. What? Your shoes were STOLEN?? That's nuts! Now go get that battery fixed!

  13. Wow on blogging from your phone — you’ve done a great job but I wouldn’t have the patience for it! We haven’t used flea collars in ages - we use the monthly prescription instead. I also am suspicious of rebate offers because I always expect some trick. $30 is a lot to lose out on.

    1. We used the chewable until they reach 50 pounds and could go to the collars. I am now against anything chewable because of the pesticides they use.

  14. Bill likes to shop if you're looking for things that interest him. He okay with going to Bed Bath & Beyond if we're going for a few specific items. He's not a browser...

What a bummer and pain about the rebait. That's very poor customer service to say the least.

I can't even imagine blogging from my phone. Get your laptop fixed, girl! How's that for a gentle nudge?

  15. send us some of that nice weather PLEASE!! our weather is on drugs!!

Neither one of us really like to shop very much. But I really would LIKE to go shopping because I need a few things only shopping here is slightly difficult - right now it's by appointment only and sometimes you only get like 10 min. Yeah. No. I want to LOOk at stuff, try it on, etc. So that will be a while still. Ron is the kind of shopper that says "I need new black jeans". Goes in a shop, finds his size, gets a couple pairs, pays, goes home. No browsing for him. I force him sometimes if I think he needs new shirts or something more dressy but he's not a fan.

  16. The sunshine really makes a HUGE difference...I just need it to stick around for a while!

That's such an awful customer service experience you had, looks like they just lost a customer for good!

My husband is too impatient to enjoy shopping. He's great at getting groceries though, we're big on Trader Joe's too, haha!

  17. Hubby doesn't like to shop, unless, of course, it's online. I'm not a big shopper either unless it's for yarn. lol I enjoyed your post. Have a great April.

  18. I feel like having coffee with you would be such a treat! One day anyone. Until then I enjoy getting a little view into your day to day. Is the pandemic taken a turn and ramped up? We are doing okay but the next city to us, 2.5 he's away, is fighting a battle against the variant and it's bad. We are trying to push out vaccines but not as fast as the variant is spreading. Sigh. Thankfully we are still going to school but they had to shut it down.

Anyway, like you, spring has arrived much earlier than it normally does and we are so thankful for that.

  19. My husband doesn't mind shopping, but it has to be for a purpose rather than just browsing and window shopping. Then when we have bought what we set out to buy, he's ready to come home! Of course at the moment here in the UK only essential shops are open due to lockdown so if it's not food or medications, you can't buy it in the high street!
Doesn't a bit of warmth and sunshine make you feel better? We had one glorious day of sunshine on Easter Sunday then the following day we had snow flurries. Come on Mother Nature, let us have some spring sunshine!
