8 Days of Holiday Inspired Outfits

If you follow me on IG, you know that I participate with my friend Kim in #FashionFriday. I've done a good job playing along for a while, but then I took an unintentional hiatus.  However, I thought now was a good time to share some holiday inspired outfits

The holidays are such a good time to
put fun and festive outfits together!  I  love all things sparkly, fuzzy, and cozy so it's a perfect time of year for me.  Here are a few pieces that you can add to each outfit to make it a little more festive this time of year!
(You'll notice a common denominator in all these outfits are a pair of black boots.)

A red and green scarf makes my red sweater from Banana Republic a bit more festive.  I'll probably  wear this outfit again around valentines day with a different scarf.  I wore white pants only because I feel like I already wear too much black this time of year.

I LOVE this soft fuzzy sweater but I feel like I can only wear it this time of year and maybe into January.  I make it a bit more festive with my snowflake pin.

Minus the red cardigan, this is one of my favorite outfits. The white tunic (with faux rhinestone collar) and black ponte leggings are both from New York and Company. These leggings are thick enough to wear to work. They have pockets, a button and zipper.  I normally wear a black cardigan with this outfit but during the holidays I wear the red one and put my Christmas tree pin on it.

Do you have a pair of holiday leggings? I don't usually wear printed leggings but I think these snowflake printed ones are appropriate for the season.  I haven't worn these to work yet because they are just your regular run of the mill thin leggings.  I suppose if I wear them with a long sweater like the one pictured here I might be able to get away with it. Maybe next year!

I love this casual weekend outfit. Throw a red vest over a super soft cow neck, pair with your favorite jeans and a pair of boots with fur!  I added a Santa pin.  I'll probably be wearing this vest a lot this winter with my running outfits. Don't you love a piece that does double duty?

Apparently this buffalo plaid print is a hit.  This is new to my wardrobe this season and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite casual pieces. My pants are my "go to" fleece lined leggings that are perfect for walking around outdoor Christmas markets.

As of right now, I do not own an "ugly sweater" unless you think this one is ugly.  However, I like it and have claimed it as my official "winter sweater".  It is super soft and this winter-ish pattern even has some sparkle in it which I love.  Do you have an ugly sweater or a winter sweater?

And if all else fails and you don't want to invest in any of these pieces for the holidays, just grab your favorite LBD and add a Christmas light necklace!

How do you add a bit of  "holiday" to your outfits? Do you have an "ugly sweater"?  -M

  2. you know this almost inspires me to dress a bit more Christmasy next year! no one does that here in the Netherlands but yesterday my (Polish) colleague wore an ugly sweater to work and I thought it was fabulous!! Maybe I just might update my wardrobe a bit to incorporate!

    1. That surprises me that no one dresses Christmassy. I work at a school so people there are mostly festive!

  8. Love the scarf! And the buffalo plaid top.

I have lots of sweaters, but sadly, I don't wear the prettier ones often because Gizmo has a tendency to pull pretty much anything. I still have plenty, I'm just usually in leggings and some sort of sweatshirt (although I do go with sweatshirt-like stuff that's a bit prettier, most of the time).

  10. I do not think that is an ugly sweater, I like it a lot! My favorite outfit is the one with the red and black checks with the black vest. Very nice! I do want to start wearing more pins in general! I think they look cool. :) Where is a good spot to get pins?

    1. I got those pins several years ago at Kohls. I also have a star pin but I am selective what I wear it with because I've been told I look like a sherriff when I wear it..lol
