What a wonderful week it has been. I started Summer Vacation last week! Let's take a look!
I love any chance to wear my patriotic headband! I know we actually did more than 4 miles but I forgot my Garmin but my sister kept track. I'm just rounding down!
The remainder of the week was extremely busy with other things so I didn't worry about getting any miles in. I figured that my goal for the month of May was to only focus on the Wag-a-thon. Since I had completed the Wag-a thon, I would start fresh with miles on June 1st!
And suddenly, it was June 1st! No better way to start the summer than an extreme clean! I spent the day cleaning my back decks and around the swimming pool. I should have done this weeks ago but knew it was going to take some time so figured I should wait till I'm off. I'm telling you this story as a cautionary tale! I was using Clorox Bleach for some areas around our swimming pool and it never occurred to me to remove my silver rings.

After that fiasco, My sister and I tried a new trail and got in over 2 miles before stopping at Dunkin for our Coffee and Donuts for Donut Day!
Saturday was a very busy day but a great day to end the week. We participated in our first Coffee Date, where we discussed all things Blogging. If you are a Blogger you should really check it out. I'd love to hear what you have to say about it!
Later that day my sister picked me up for a little birthday surprise! I knew we were going on a picnic but I didn't know where. She told me to wear sneakers, what to wear, and to bring my swim suit. I thought we were going to a local beach. Well, plans must have changed because we did not head in the direction of the beach and I had no clue where we were going.
Turns out she surprised me by taking me to an Amusement park. I haven't been here in years!
She had a yummy picnic lunch for us followed by a fun scavenger hunt she had planned for me! Always keeping it fun!
After rides and dessert (peanut butter ice cream with chocolate sprinkles in a waffle cone) it was time for her to take me home to get ready for another outing. It is so fun having a sister and I feel so lucky! (I hope she feels the same way)
At 6 pm we were meeting some friends for dinner. We always get together for each others birthdays.
We had such a nice time at dinner and I was completely overwhelmed with their kindness and generosity. It's always nice to know that you have friends that care about you (especially as you get older). -M
Thank you to Holly and Wendy for allowing us to share our week with them through their Weekly Wrap Link up!
I'm so glad you were able to get your rings cleaned! Sounds like your sister did a great job planning out your birthday. I can't believe it's already June!
ReplyDeleteShe did a great job!
DeleteIs your birthday June 2? That's my birthday! How fun. :)
ReplyDeleteThat scavenger hunt/amusement park gift sounds so awesome. What a great sister! Hope you have a wonderful birthday.
Happy Birthday to you! We actually celebrated a bit early.
DeleteYea the scavenger hunt was a fun touch!
Awhhhhh, that was so nice of Lacey to treat you like royalty for your birthday ;-) How fun!!
ReplyDeleteIt was so unexpected and it was fun!
DeleteHappy Birthday! How fun that Lacey surprised you. My sister and I have birthdays that are 9 days apart. For one week we are the same age. We always go on a trip together!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear about the toothpaste trick. How scary that your ring was tarnished like that by the bleach!
That is so nice that you always get to do a trip together with your sister. We try to do a trip together each year but with our work schedules it gets tricky.
DeleteLove the idea of the scavenger hunt, what a fun idea! Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jessie!
DeleteOh, good reminder about the rings. I rarely take mine off. I have used toothpaste to polish a bit of tarnish off silver jewelry -- I was amazed when it really worked. Glad you had a fun birthday!
ReplyDeleteI never heard of the toothpaste trick before but so glad it worked.
DeleteThanks for the tip about your rings! You are lucky to have a sister living close to you. Mine is 6 hours away, and I miss her! Count your blessings.
ReplyDeleteShe didn't always live near me so I am grateful that she is closer than she use to be. And yes, I do feel it is a blessing. I hope she feels the same way.
DeleteThat ice cream looks delicious! Happy birthday :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Leslie. It was yummy!

I am SO glad the toothpaste worked too. I was so relieved!
DeleteHappy Birthday! What a fun surprise Lacey planned for you. I'm so glad your rings were not permanently ruined. I've heard white toothpaste is good for silver. Apparently bleach is not. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Something about amusement parks at any age. So glad you were able to fix your rings.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun week! Good to know about the toothpaste cleaning your rings. Happy Birthday!

ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday! You got to Knoebels! I love that places. :) What kinds of things did you have to find on your scavenger hunt? I really enjoy reading about your special relationship with your sister. Growing up, I always wished I had a sister.
ReplyDeleteHooray for summer break! I am so glad that you were able to fix your rings. I would have never thought to use toothpaste so thank you for that tip!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday! I have a sister too, but we weren't close growing up -- we're a lot closer now, but you guys sound like the best of friends. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's nice you were able to restore your ring! I know that would have gotten me really upset, too.
Glad you were able to get that ring fixed up. I would think silver could withstand almost anything.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun weekend, happy birthday, Meranda! There's nothing like fun times with your sister. I'm SO glad that you were able to repair your rings, I know that had to be so stressful!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your rings were ok! That does sound stressful!! Happy bday too!
