Things that make you say Whaaaat?

Every once in a while we come across something while we are running or biking that either makes us laugh or make us say "Whaaaaat"?  We thought we would share some of those with you today.

These are a combination of things both my sister and I have seen.

1.The other day I saw a car that had paint on the back windshield ( you know that paint that people use to write things like "Just Married" and such? Well, on the back of this particular car it read "This Crazy Lady Behind the Wheel".

2. The other day I saw a car (a very modest sedan, not a sports car) with a front license plate that read "Here Comes Fast Eddie".  As if that wasn't funny enough, the driver was an elderly lady!

3. Now this one just happened the yesterday and it didn't really make me laugh but it kind of made me mad. It's nearing 80 degrees and my mom and I just finished a 3 mile run. We are walking back to our car via the park. There are three young girls sitting on a piece of workout equipment and they each have a small dog. The oldest girl (at least a tween-ager) had a Shnuazer dressed in a fleece lined fur coat with a hood. WHAT??? I asked her why she had a coat on her dog when it was so hot outside. She just laughed at me.

And since we are now talking about pets, these next two will make you go Aww!

4. I once saw a guy running with not only a dog by his side, but a cat too! The dog and cat ran side by side with their owner and neither was on a leash!

5. While on a run I often see this kid on a skateboard (well, he's a teenager) and he's being pulled by his Golden Retriever. The Golden Retriever has his leash in his mouth so he's pretty much walking himself. When a runner goes by, the owner will bend down and grab the leash so the dog doesn't runner after them.  But then the kids hangs on to the leash and they keep on moving. It's pretty cute!

  4. Fast Eddie sounds like a cool lady to hang with! There is a woman around here who carries her dog in her arms when she "walks" her so essentially she is walking herself. Not sure why!

    1. Maybe she walks further than the dog can handle so she carries him the rest of the way?

  5. OMgosh, the girl with the dog dressed for winter...I saw a dog overheating here in Hong Kong once. It was like he was paralyzed. People were pouring water on him and then his owner picked him up (not a small dog either, yellow lab-like) to carry him. His legs stuck straight out. It was the saddest thing ever.

  6. I wanna see a dog & a cat running with their owners off leash too! I don't trust either dog off leash. I thought I trusted Chester, who had an overpowering need to be with me, but when we were at the Cape once & he was sitting on my lap, he got off when another dog came out. So much for trust!

    1. Our one neighbor actually ties her cat out on a long chain that you would use for a dog. She connects it to her porch!

  12. A cat running with his owner!! that is precious!!

The other day I saw a loose dog, he was much bigger than I was, so I started walking. That for me has been one of the strangest things that have happened to me.

    1. I often see loose dogs when I run on the wooded trail. It doesn't bother me though because the ones I've seen are well behaved. I suppose if they weren't, the owner wouldn't give them the freedom of being of the leash.

  13. My friend's golden, Abi, will "walk" herself with the leash, which is freaking adorable.

  14. Oh man... I would have given that girl so much grief about the coat on the dog in hot weather. noooo way chica.
I get nervous when people run without their animals on a leash or restraint. I think, it just takes one mad dash for the loss of a beloved family member.

  18. There are quite a few goldens in my neighborhood and there's this one that walks with its leash in its mouth. It's not tugging or anything, and the owner has a hold of the leash, but it's so cute to see the dog.
