So what all has 2016 brought........
1. Running - I haven't officially added up all my miles ( I always do that on New Years Eve), but as far as races go I ran 10 Races! That is less than year's past but more than I anticipated since I decided to give up those race "Challenges". I ran my second marathon in January and that seems like SO long ago. Will I be ready for another one soon?
2. Vacations- 2 trips to Disney World, a weekend trip to Atlantic City, a Cruise with my mom, a week at the Lake house with the family.
3. New Places I've visited this year- The PA Grand Canyon, Bushkill Falls, Rickett's Glen, and Trough Creek State Park.
4. Professional Accomplishments- I finally completed the professional courses I've been taking for over year and can now add another certification to my teaching certificate. I also continue to write my column for the newspaper and have found a great writing group to be a part of.
5. Books- Since starting the blog I hadn't really had time to read any books just for pleasure. This year I changed all that and read a whopping 4 books ( That's good for me)! The books were, Me Before You, The Friends We Keep, The Secret Lives of Fortunate Wives, and Gingerbread Girl.
And that wraps up 2016! -M
Sounds like you had a fun and successful year! I only really read when I travel but I did manage to read about 5 books this year. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI tried to read during the summer but maybe next year I'll try to read a little more.
DeleteCongrats on earning another teaching certification! What are you certified to teach at this point? My cert. is for K-12 music.
ReplyDeleteThanks! That that make 4 certifications for me now.
DeleteI'm just north of Harrisburg PA, and I want to visit the places you've been. I keep saying I'm going to get there but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe 2017 is my year ;) And good for you on the books. I LOVE to read but I can't ever seem to find the time to fit it in. Congrats on this year's accomplishments!
ReplyDeleteWhere North of Harrisburg?
DeleteI read a few of those books, but I did read a lot this year. It's never enough, tho!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great year for you! My year by the numbers post is in the works for Sunday. Happy New year!
Happy New Year to you too!
DeleteYou had a great year, Meranda. Some day I'd love to run one of the Atlantic City races. Just have to see when I can get it to fit into our calendar.
ReplyDeleteThat race is one of my favorites! I think you would like it to. It's the easiest race to get to the start line if you stay at one of the resorts right there on the Boardwalk!
DeleteI need to clean up my pin boards as well thanks for the reminder and thanks for the linkup today
ReplyDeleteThank you for participating in both the link ups and and Pin boards!
DeleteHappy new year! I've read a few books but if you asked me which ones, I really can't remember. The most recent one was Don't Tell Me You're Afraid. It was amazing.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm like that too. I had to look back at my Pinterest board to see what the Title of the books where. I try to pin them, so I can remember later!
Deletegreat year! I love new adventures! I don't think I pinned anything to the Pinterest board- LOL! I am probably behind on that too! Cheers ladies!
ReplyDeleteI haven't pinned in SO long either!
DeleteSounds like a great year! I love that you visited so many new places this year.
ReplyDeleteMost of them happened in the summer since I have more time then!
DeleteSounds like a pretty good year. My year may not have been stellar, but the trips really were! I earned those trips!
ReplyDeleteA race recap board? Ooooooh . . . I need to get on "board". :)
Yes, it's on my pinterest board, Meranda S. Just join the group board for Race Recaps and any other group board you'd like.
DeleteSounds like you've had a great year this year! Here's to an even better 2017!
ReplyDeleteYes, hope we all have a great 2017!
DeleteYay! Congrats on a great year!! HOpe 2017 is even better!
ReplyDeleteMe too! If that happens it will be a wonderful 2017!
DeleteSounds like a great year! I am compiling my running recap now, too! I ran 19 races and have one tomorrow. I read so many books! You've got me thinking about new places... I visited a lot of places (and races) that I've done before. Not sure I went anywhere new other than Cuba!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy and healthy new year!!
Great to end the year with an even 20 races!
DeleteGood for you reading... its not always easy to carve out time to get into a book so love you got in any. Shoot for 10 in 2017. (I'm such a reading bully) ;) haha
ReplyDeleteReading bully, haha. I've been asked to be part of a book club, so we'll see.
DeleteCongratulations on your certification! You had such a great year!! Such great places to visit!! I will make it to Bushkill falls this coming year for sure!!
ReplyDeleteYes, you should visit this summer!
DeleteVery cool on the certifications, I was just thinking about you the other day wondering how they went and if you had been able to get them all finished. So proud of you, great job!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kristy! I actually finished up right after Thanksgiving and am SO glad to be done! I should have my certification in 11 weeks...lol
DeleteI lost track of my miles over the summer, so sadly I have no idea how many miles I ran this year. I want to be better at tracking that next year.
ReplyDeleteThat's one thing I track constantly. I'm a date nerd though. Don't know what I'll ever do with the data but I like having it!
Deletewhat a fun year! I am currently working on 6 race recaps as I am so behind-I will pin them on the Race Recap board :)
ReplyDeleteYay! Thanks, I love reading race recaps!
Deletelooks like you had a great year! cheers to an even better 2017!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Cheers to you as well!
DeleteSounds like a great year. I never add up my miles - I'm horrible at keeping track of that kind of thing! I've also been horrible about reading this year - I'm not even sure my total would be 4 books. I'm hoping I can do better in 2017. Congrats on a great year and thanks as always for hosting!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with us! I find it hard to read lots of books because I always feel guilty taking the time to do so. When I have free time I feel like I should be catching up on other "life" stuff!
DeleteSounds like a fun year! I so fell off the reading bandwagon this year - thanks for reminding me I need to get back on that!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link-up! Happy New Year!
I need to make vacations a priority for next year. It's been great following your adventures!
ReplyDeleteOne of my goals for 2017 is to actually keep track of my miles. I've never managed to! Sounds like 2016 was a good year. :) Here's hoping your 2017 is great too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy New Year! I look forward to rejoining the FF in 2017 - nice that you took it over :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like 2016 was a well rounded year for you... Hope 2017 is great as well!
