Confession Time

Wow, I don't think we've ever done a confessions post. Have we?  It seems like the popular thing to do to recap the end of the month, so why not.

It is Fitness Friday but as I stated in a previous post that February was my Rest Month, Hallelujah!  (I know most people take a rest "day" or a weekend, but I took  an entire month).  I enjoyed not rushing home everyday to get to the gym and thought I would be able to use that time relaxing and reading books and just doing nothing, BUT THAT DID NOT HAPPEN. It seems as when you have free time, you quickly find ways to occupy it.

Here is what I have to confess from last month, the good and the bad........

1. The month started out with us having some beautiful weather. I thought that even though I would not be running this month that it might be the start of Baylee and I getting some fun walks in this spring. We got not one but two muddy walks in and that was it.

Even though I had time, I didn't do any workouts. I had a mini vacation where I did not work for 5 days straight. I was itching to go out for a run or ride my bike, but I purposely kept myself from doing it (because it was my rest month). Who does that?

2.  I may have ate one too many cupcakes! We ordered the Wicked good cupcakes for our Valentines treat.   In addition to cupcakes there was a lot of other Valentines candy consumed. AND to make matters worse our neighborhood short stop mart is selling Peanut butter eggs as a fundraiser for a local church. I bought one on a whim last week and no kidding they were THE BEST Peanut butter eggs I have ever had. I looked at the ingredients and saw they used cream cheese in the filling. I've bought 5 more eggs since then!  (It's unfortunate that this year Easter month is right after Valentines month because now we have another month of candy and sweets to look forward too, o my)

I ate a Big Mac. And I do not apologize for it! When my husband is out of town I tend to eat foods that I would not eat while I'm with him (yea, its usually junk food).

3. This big dent happened to my car last month. I backed into a tree and I am not even going to try to make an excuse for it because it was dumb!!!! Yes, I even have back up sensors on my car.
I didn't realize till I got home that there was also damage to the bumper as well as the trunk.

February was not a total downer though. I DID enjoy it.  Here are two super fun things that happened this month.

4. My sister and I were guests at the Villain's costume ball.

Can you guess which Disney villains we are?

5. We met up with Meg from Meg Go Run!

I always look forward to hanging out with her.  We played some games, had great conversation, and I think a little wine was consumed!  Can't wait to hang out again this summer!

So February 2016, that's a wrap!

Can you relate to any of my confessions from last month? -M

We are linking up with the gals from the Friday 5.

  1. I once scraped the heck out of the side of my car on a post in a parking garage. And there was no reason other than I wasn't paying attention.

    1. Don't you hate that when you know something could easily have been avoided?

  2. Sorry about the car. Many years ago I was with some friends in Moab and we were heading out to hit the trails I loaded my truck up and backed right into my friends jeep winch. Ripped a huge hole in my truck and I still couldn't have the decency to own up to my mistake. I blamed them for parking behind me when I asked no one to. I yelled at them for a good 10 min and it was really my mistake for not looking. So kudos to you for owning up to your mistake :) I hope I have grown up and would own my mistake now...but:)
Oh hey we all eat Big Macs every now and then, nothing wrong with a little treatat times. I went out with my parents to lunch at McDonald's earlier this week too:)

  3. Sorry to hear about your car. I've done that before - backed into a column in a garage. Confession wise.. I hate one too many Oreos this month with their special flavors.

  4. Glad you enjoyed your rest month! February was probably a good month to not worry about training, and now hopefully March will start to bring some warmer weather!

    1. You are correct! We had some cold days in February and I was certainly glad that I didn't have to get out there and train for anything!

  5. I have eaten too many cupcakes the past month too :( I am not even massively in to cupcakes, so I have no idea what happened.

  6. Oh, car incidents are the worst. I've done plenty of dumb things like hitting the mirror on my garage. Thankfully minimal big accidents. And yes, a fast food meal every now and then just satisfies a grease and salt craving. For me it would be a quarter pounder with fries. And hoping I didn't get one of those batches they don't salt well enough. Hope you have a great March!

    1. Oh I haven't had fries in SOoooo long! I usually just get the sandwich. Although the fries do sound good!

  7. Aww, sorry about the dent on your car. Yes, I definitely can relate to the sweet addiction. I have been known to dive into anything chocolate and peanut butter on more than one occasion!

  8. Sorry to hear about your car. I think something like that has happened to most of us. I put a huge dent in one of the doors of my old car in a parking garage one time. I was backing out too quickly and scraped alongside a pole. I definitely was being careless and wasn't paying attention.

  9. I sideswiped my son's Jeep this week. I always have to move it in the morning, and I did a bad job. When I backed my car out, I got a little too close. Luckily, there was no damage!

  10. Good for you having a month off, it must have been a nice break! I think I've only had a Big Mac once in my life, LOL...I was more of a Whopper gal! The sweet treats are so tempting, I'll have to make sure I stay away from the Easter candy!

    1. Can you believe I've never had a whopper? Actually I don't remember ever going to burger King.

Glad the month had some high notes.

  15. I love those costumes! The villains ball sounds like a lot of fun.

  16. Wow, a whole month of rest? That only happens when I'm really, really sick. Which thankfully doesn't happen often. I just don't feel right if I don't get in some activity most days!

So sorry about the bumper. I can back into stuff all the time, but luckily I'm usually going pretty slowly & don't do any damage. I do not have a back up camera. My car is really, really, really old.

When I want a PB cup I usually just make mine own. It's not so difficult. And then there's portion control (and sugar control!).

    1. After the intense marathon training and then the race, I really feel like I needed the time off. It was definitely well deserved!

  17. I don't think that was a bad month at all!! I think it's great you took the entire month off to regroup and have fun. There is nothing wrong with that and I bet you feel pretty recharged. Oh and these candy holidays are killing me. Especially when I happen into Target the day after and all their stuff is at least 50% off. I may or may not have had some 50% off Valentines candy.

How awesome you got to meet up with another blogger. #jealous #gottameetoneday
Hey, I think February calls for less workouts & more fun treats - its the last hurrah of winter. Totally calls for some leeway

  19. We are total opposites. I tend to eat like crap when my husband is home and I meal plan and eat super healthy in his absence. He's like the evil devil on my shoulder tempting me with junk food.

  24. yup, I backed into a tree once. I was so mad! I had just dropped a friend off from a trip to PA (this is when I lived in Boston). Her house didn't have a real driveway and I was tired and it was dark, and I was annoyed I still have 45 minutes to my own house and when I tried to back up to turn around - boom. What an annoyance. I had a McDonald's cheeseburger yesterday. I never feel bad when I do non-healthy things. I'm conscious 80-90% of the time but those little moments aren't going to make or break me! Here's to March being a better month :)

  25. Oh, bummer on the car! I feel like I am eating all the bad food lately. ~sigh~

  27. I can definitely relate to the Big Mac confession :) I've had a few Shamrock Shakes since they've returned for the season and do not feel one bit bad about it. I think it's okay to indulge in the unhealthy every now and then!
