The evolution of Crocs: Can they be stylish?

A year ago if you would have ever asked me if I would ever wear a pair of Crocs out in public, you could guarantee I'd say I wouldn't get caught dead in them.

I was the one that would always wear the cute shoes whether they hurt or not. And for as long as I am on my feet while working a 12 hour day, my feet are going to hurt regardless of the shoes I'm wearing.

I don't know if it's because I'm getting older (which I would hate to think that) or if it's that shoes are starting to bother me a lot more lately. I have not found a shoe to wear at work all day without hurting my feet and even getting blisters, until now. Yes you guess it....CROCS! So next time you laugh at people wearing crocs, I'm sure they are fine with it, because they are laughing right back at people thinking that their feet are probably hurting in those  fancy shoes! Now I know what you think when you think of Crocs.

Those chunky rubber clogs with that strap on the back. Well have you gone to an actual Crocs store lately? They have very stylish shoes that do not look anything like the ones we are used to.

They have anything from sandals to flats, and even high heels. Yes I typed that correct. You can find high heels at crocs, along with other dressy shoes.

So now you do not have to sacrifice style for comfort.

After buying my flats, I went to the outlet store and got two pair of sandals. I am going to have comfy feet come summer!

What are your feelings about Crocs? ~L

  1. I've never owned a pair of Crocs myself, but I have stolen my sister's a time or two because they're just SO comfortable. I never knew that they sold flats, though. I wonder how they'd fare as theme-park shoes- I'm always looking for more foot comfort when I'm walking around the Magic Kingdom!

    1. Yes they are very comfy! I've traded my heels for flats at work. Makes my feet very happy after a long day!

  2. Wow, I didn't know crocs had more stylish models. I've always felt that I wouldn't wear them but I might have to change my mind! I have to admit that as I've gotten older, I'm beginning to care more about comfort than style when it comes to shoes. I'll still wear cute heels when we're going to dinner or something but not if I'm going to be at work all day or on my feet for a significant time.

    1. Never thought I would ever buy a pair either. But after seeing I didn't have to sacrifice style for comfort, I'm in!

  3. I love the stylish models but I still don't think that I would wear them! I have a pair that I use for taking out the trash and just a quick pair to slip on but I would not wear them out and about! :)

  4. I have a pair of croc heels (inherited from MIL who didn't care for them) and a pair of croc mary janes. I wear them all the time! You would never know they were crocs unless you are a fellow croc wearer. ;)

  5. I have a few pairs of Crocs - & not the chunky ones that everyone hates - but I love those too...
I have a pair I wear solely for when I do wedding photography - 12 hours on my feet - I need comfort & no one believes they are crocs.
I love their flip flops too! My mom begs for me to get her new pairs every year.
There's a croc store in Nashville & my step daughter is always getting the cutest shoes there for the whole family!

    1. I love my flats when I wear pants to work, but now that spring is approaching I want to wear my dresses and I found the perfect pair of wedges at Crocs in Nashville at Opry Mills!

  6. I hateeee crocs and I don't even think I could wear the stylish ones. They make me feel like my feet would get all sweaty. I have a friend who is serving in the Peace Corps in Africa and one day before she left she said to me "I just bought to prettiest pair of Crocs. Crocs are still cool, right?" I had to laugh and tell her that Crocs were NEVER cool but that no one would really mind that in Africa ;)

  7. I'm definitely not a crocs fan... one may even call me anti-crocs lol! I didn't realize they had those 'stylish' options. They don't look too bad; I may even try a pair on. I don't know if I could bring myself to buy a pair though haha! But I may end up eating those words someday, who knows!

  8. I think they look cute in tiny form, like on my kids. I have never tried on the sandals though. Do they have good arch support? I'm not sure I'd like the bumps either. I have my eye on a pair of FitFlops at Marshall's. They make my feet look huge but they are SO comfy!

    1. I think they have better arch support than a cheap pair of flip flops. I wasn't sure about the bumps either at first, but now feel they add to the comfort factor!

  9. I actually have a pair of strappy black high heeled wedges that are Crocs and no one believes me when I tell them that they are Crocs because they are so cute. They're really comfortable too!

  11. Whatever keeps my comfortable is what I wear. I hated Crocs when they first came out but the ones you purchased look very nice.

  12. It's weird but the ugly Crocs make my feet sweat lol! I hate them! But those flats look super cute! But I'm still worried they'll make my feet sweat lol!

  13. Those flats look cute! I used to have a pair of kitchen clogs that were crocs when I worked at a coffee shop - they were super comfortable!

  14. I don't have any Crocs, but I don't dislike them. I've just never gotten around to getting a pair. I'd like to try them one of these days.

  15. We have a crocs store in the mall now. They have lots of cute styles. I haven't purchased one yet. But I want to this summer.

  17. I'm wearing a pair of Crocs Ballet Flats today. I used to wear strappy high heels for years - but Plantar Fasciitis came along and I had to give that up. I also had to give up Crocs and flipflops (since they are non supportive and aggravate PF), switching only to Birkenstocks (all Disney-themed) and professional fitted running shoes at all times. The PF went away, so last month I cautiously bought these flat ballet style Crocs. Wearing them only occasionally, and only for work (where I sit 8 hours/day). They are cute, but not comfortable, and my heels start to hurt if I walk/stand more than 30 minutes. I really don't see myself getting more Crocs though, as I am happy with Birks for play, running shoes for workouts, and Clark's for the office. There are many cute Croc styles, but I don't want to risk PF flare-ups. ~DisneyBride

  18. I don't think there's a good reason to suffer in shoes that hurt. I say wear what's comfy and good for your feet!
