Our plan was to eat lunch here, but we were a little early for lunch so we decided to take a look around the property.
We should have gone for a trail ride. That for sure would have been something new for me at Disney, but we didn't!
I did however love how each horse had a signature Mickey shaved on it.
After spending some quality time with the ponies, we were ready for lunch.
We were promptly seated and I was prepared to order the chicken and sweet potato waffles right off the menu. That was until our server asked us if we wanted the breakfast buffet. We didn't think that was still going to be an option, but after one look at that yummy buffet, we quickly obliged and decided we would now have "brunch".
There was LOTS of food.
And even MORE food!
They even had praline sauce for over the Mickey waffles.
It's okay, I would be running off all these calories the next morning!
Up until this point, my favorite breakfast spot at Disney was the Kona Café. After visiting Trails End, I believe it is now a tie. This is definitely a place I will return to on a future trip.
Where is your favorite place to go for breakfast on Disney property ( or off)?
Side note: Another first for me on this trip was my first visit to IHOP. Can you believe I've never been there?
O yea, and I found out you CAN bring your dog to Fort Wilderness ( in certain areas of course). Hmm, maybe someday!
*EDIT Trails End at Fort Wilderness has now been turned into a quick service spot.
We stayed at Fort Wilderness on a visit to WDW many years ago, but never tried Trails End for breakfast. We did however go to the Hoop de Doo revue and love it.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see a review of the Hoop de Doo!
DeleteThat is way too cool that you can bring your dog! I also love the little Mickey's on the ponies!
ReplyDeleteJust too bad the dogs wouldn't be aloud in the theme parks!
DeleteDisney should do a dog day at the parks! How fun would that be?!
DeleteO Yes! That would be so much fun!
DeleteWe've been to Fort Wilderness for the Hoop Dee Doo several times but have yet to explore past that. One of these days. It looks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteHaving been to the resort to visit now has me interested in doing the Hoop Dee Doo Review!
DeleteWe went during dinner and we were less than impressed - especially looking for healthy options. Looks like Breakfast is a much better bet! I see a yogurt and fruit mason jar there? Awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what the dinner menu would look like, but I did notice on the lunch menu that there were a lot of "heavier" items on it. There were definitely a lot of healthy options on the breakfast buffet and certainly a lot of non healthy ones too.! I liked the variety it had!
DeleteIs this place on the Disney Dining plan?
ReplyDeleteI can not say because we did not have the dinning plan. It is a table service restaurant so I would imagine it would be.
DeleteI love the 5 new things idea. . I might need to borrow it in Jan :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to eat there one day, but it seems to be a pain to get to if you're staying on property without a car.
I agree. This was the first time we've had a car on property. Although I do believe there is a boat that goes directly to the Magic Kingdom. You could go from there.
DeleteThis is one of our very favorite restaurants! The price is so good too. It's such a great hidden Disney gem.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it is a hidden gem. I bet Nick likes the animals too!
DeleteWe've stayed at a Fort Wilderness cabin before, but have not eaten at the restaurant. I've heard such great things that we'll have to check it out! Thanks for lining up with us for #MagicalMonday!
ReplyDeleteWho knew there was so many fun things to do at Fort Wilderness! Definitely putting this on my list of must stay places!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a timely post - I have great friends who are staying at Fort Wilderness in a couple of weeks and I've been telling them of all the fun things to do there. Can't wait to share your post with them!
