Keep in mind, this all started on January 1, 2018. I've gone through 3 new modules. I've gone through the module timing out several times, and have experienced my treadmill just shutting off only after .25 miles of a run! THAT IS WHAT MADE ME FURIOUS. I was convinced that the modules put a bug (or virus) in my treadmill causing it not to work. iFit customer support admitted to me that people have not had the best results with these modules so therefore they don't make them any more. WHAT??? Now all the treadmills have the ifit program already built inside of them.
My treadmill is not that old and it is still in good condition so I don't feel the need to buy the new treadmill with the program already built in...... Or do I?
Before I went to to the extreme of order a new treadmill (and I was this close)... we tried these other solutions.
Like I said, we first tried other modules. That didn't seem to work.
Next, I had iFit delete all my workouts and start fresh (because too many workouts can jam up your machine). That didn't work either.
Finally we called our internet provider and had our house re-wired. (Yes, I know that is a little extreme but I was on a mission to figure out why this wasn't working). Even though all of our other wireless devices work in the workout room, there must be a reason that the treadmill was not connecting properly (and staying connected). We increased our internet speed (and bandwidth). Guess what, that worked for like a moment, and then it didn't. I was completely crushed.
This week I decided to reposition the treadmill. Low and behold I think that worked. I don't know if it was the repositioning or a combination of all the other things I've tried but I got several solid runs of over 3 miles without it shutting off.
I've been doing the workouts of the day and I was surprised to see the first one for the week be Playa Del Carmen! I actually visited here last summer so it was pretty cool to run virtual on the beach here.
The workout of the day yesterday was the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve.
I am excited that I finally got the iFit working but too bad that it took me all winter and now it's Spring and a good time to get outside. O well. I'm looking forward to seeing what the workout for the day will be next time I log on! -M
Glad it finally started working! Based on how this spring has been going I'm sure you will get some more use out of it. I wonder how many workouts it takes to fill it up?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you got it working! Crazy how things work these days.
ReplyDeleteYou've been thru so much with that dang thing. I'm so glad it's finally working for you. I'd have wanted someone to come over and get it fixed FOR me. Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteWhew! I love a happy ending! Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Have fun running outside this weekend. Snow is forecast here (PA).
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you got it figured out! I know it was driving you crazy
ReplyDeleteWow! that is too funny! A simple move finally made it work! I wonder why that was!
ReplyDeleteWow! Talk about persistence! I'm glad it's finally working. I probably would have gone outside or joined a gym! ;)
ReplyDeleteYour persistence has paid off. I'm glad that you didn't have to dish out the money for a brand new treadmill. And the idea of a virtual run at the beach sounds like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds frustrating but I’m glad you got it working!
ReplyDeleteI admire your tenacity!
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of devices in the house connected to the Internet, so keeping them all working isn't easy.
haha... at least it'll be there waiting for you on rainy stormy days or when the cold comes back around again.
ReplyDeleteGlad it got fixed though!
I'm glad you finally got it to work. I'd be like you, it's the principle of the thing, and I will figure it out without having to buy another treadmill. It may be spring, but this weather is still crazy.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of buying a Nordic in a few months - now that it is working, are you still happy you bought it? Treadmills aren't cheap so I want to pick the right one!
ReplyDeleteOh yes I love my Nordic Track. The treadmill was never really a problem, it was what the ifit program was doing to it. I also have a Nordic track bike so I highly recommend that brand.
DeleteOh my goodness that is a saga indeed! I’m so glad you got it working. Buying a new treadmill when yours still works doesn’t make sense to me either!
ReplyDeleteI REALLY hope it wasn't just repositioning your treadmill... I'm glad your saga is OVER.
ReplyDeleteAwesome news!!!! Hopefully the saga has ended for good ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you finally got that to work... it was a saga indeed!
ReplyDeleteoh, I hope this really is the fix! I can see how bandwidth would be important. It's like watching a show on-line that's interrupted by buffering ...
ReplyDeleteThat is frustrating! Glad it seems to be working now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a saga, indeed! I would have given up long ago! Glad you have it up and working.
ReplyDeleteYay for happy endings! I hope your treadmill and iFit continue to work ;)
