I've been running this race for the past 5 years with the exception of last year (since I chose to do the Hershey 10K instead). As you may remember, I thought the Hershey race was just meh, so I'm excited to be going back to the April Fools Race again this year.
Here are some things I'm looking forward to...
Have a long girls' weekend. It's been since last Summer when we all went to Mexico that my mom, sister and I got to get away together.
The resorts and boardwalk. I love the old fashion boardwalk of Atlantic city and I love the resorts. It always makes me think of that movie "Beaches". We always stay ocean front on the boardwalk but try to stay at a new resort each time we go, although we have stayed at the Tropicana more than once.
Also, on the boardwalk I can not resist visiting the Rain Forest cafe. It may be cheesy but I love that place (I love themed restaurants)!
I'm also looking forward to shopping at the outlets near by.
I'll be running the shorter distance race this weekend, which I am thankful for because I did not put a lot of effort into training.
As of right now this is really the only Spring race each of us have on the schedule and quite honestly I think it might be it for us and that's okay. We have other things we need to do this spring. If anything else comes up, it might be an impromptu race. Can't wait to hear what everyone else has on tap for Spring! -M
We will be linking up with the gals from TOTR.
Sounds like it will be a great weekend! And it looks like you might even have some nice weather- fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteThe weather is debatable! It is suppose to be 77 degrees here at home but on in the 50's there! I sure hope that changes.
DeleteHave a great weekend! Sounds like FUN!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Zenaida.
DeleteSounds like fun! I"ve already run 3 out of my 4 spring races. The next one coming up is in 2 weeks and it's the 10 miler I run every year in Chicago.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great race. I hope the weather is nice for you.
DeleteI can't believe it's coming up on a year since you ran Hershey! Wow time flies. Hope you have a blast at the beach!
ReplyDeleteYes, times sure does fly. I can't believe it's been a year already either.
DeleteSounds like a lot of fun! That's nice that you guys will have a weekend away together :)
ReplyDeleteWe always habe a food weekend here. I hope this time it's the same.
DeleteWe went to AC once. Tons of good people watching. When we were driving around looking for our hotel, we saw a dude walking on the sidewalk with a snake around his neck! Unfortunately, we stayed at Trump Tower. I know, I could just puke about it now, but this was like 5 years ago. I hope you have fun!
ReplyDeleteHaha no worries! We stayed at the Trump Taj Mahal a few years back and I thought it was actually nice. But than again we've never stayed at a bad resort here. As long as it's on the Boardwalk it's a winner!
DeleteYes, Taj Mahal is the one that I meant. I agree, it was a nice place. Lots of KIDS but I bet that is the case everywhere.
DeleteA girls' weekend is always fun. My mom and I are tentatively planning a girls weekend for Princess next February. We need to get into the races, but we're already looking at hotels, and other things we want to do outside of Disney.
ReplyDeletePrincess weekend at Disney always makes for a great girls weekend!
DeleteGood luck & enjoy your race/girls weekend!
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of races this month. And there will be a few sprinkled throughout the next few months, too. I don't think there will be any snow for my races but you never know. :)
O gosh, I certainly hope there is no snow for your upcoming races!
DeleteOh I am bummed I am missing you guys! Before I got into Boston I was thinking of running that one - it's supposed to be so flat and fast. I bet it's similar to the run course of Ironman 70.3 AC (which would of been super fast had it not been run after swimming 1.2 miles and biking 56 LOL) Have such a great race!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, have a great time running Boston!
DeleteThis race is definitely on my bucket list! I hear it's a fun one
ReplyDeleteI'd all be for the outlet mall shopping :) That's how I'd get in my cardio.. & weight lifting with all the bags ;) haha
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! Enjoy your race and the weekend festivities!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like such a fun time - I still haven't done April Fools but I need to keep it on my radar since Atlantic City isn't too far from Philly! I'll be in Long Branch for the New Jersey marathon in just a few short weeks!
ReplyDeleteThis is my kind of race weekend - anything where you can work in some shopping along with a race, plus eating out? Sign me up! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun weekend ahead! Going to the Rain Forest Cafe is always fun. Good luck on your race!
ReplyDeleteI love racecations! I also love themed restaurants...we are going to Rainforest Cafe next week when we are at Disney for Star Wars.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! I hope you have a wonderful time!!
ReplyDeleteI’ve already wanted to run Atlantic City.
ReplyDeleteI run races most weekends. I’m addicted.
