September Wrap Up -Coffee Date

Happy October Friends! Are you ready for all things Fall? But first, I'm here to recap all that happened in September for our virtual coffee date!

If we were having coffee, here are a few things I'd talk about.

We went back to school, however, we didn't make it a month before we went remote for a week.

I got to spend Labor Day weekend at the beach and it was so blissful. I didn't  drive out to the beach at all this summer so this was a nice treat!

Our community had a local Harvest Festival for 2 weekends.  The first weekend was a Pet Parade, where pets in different categories win prizes ( but no one actually won a prize, I think only the first place in each category got a ribbon).

She was robbed...lol

We entered Eppie and Libby. They really were the best dressed up pets there, but they didn't win anything.   But I will add that I did enter my very first Labrador I ever had, Reed, and she did win first place one year! Yes, I had to add that in here!

The second week of the Harvest Festival was the 5k race.  I always enjoy this weekend  and the race. I've been able to place in my age group a few times at this race but it is a very FAST  course. If you don't train, you have no chance of placing because people are fast at this race.  I placed in 2018. In 2019, I chose not to run because I had been grieving that summer and just couldn't get my act together enough to train. 2020, the race was of course cancelled and this year my priority had been on my two troublemakers, I mean dogs!   However, I did enjoy coming out with my family and watching my sister and friend race.  She of course placed first in her age group.  You can read more about it HERE.

I decorated my porch for Fall and I got my first PSL ( iced of course).  I did see that Starbucks has an Apple Crisp latte as well. I heard from a few people that it's not that great but I might try it anyway!

I also had a Pumpkin milkshake from sheetz ( after a 12 mile bike ride with my mom).

I'm actually looking forward to October since I have lots of things planned, and oh, Walt Disney World turns 50 today!  You can bet I'll be there this fall to celebrate!

What Fall drinks have you had yet?  -M

  1. I can't believe that gorgeous ladybird didn't win a prize - I think she should demand a recount! It looks like your October is starting with a lot warmer temperatures than mine is, there'll be no iced drinks here today! I love the way that people decorate their homes for Autumn over there, it's something we need to start doing here in the UK.

    1. Yes, we have had beautiful weather here. I think the leaves will start changing soon! Can yo believe the dog that won didn't even dress up?

  2. The other dogs must have bribed the judges somehow--rolled over or something, because your sweet pup is the winner in my eyes! Looks like you had a lot of fun this month. Too bad about your schools having to go remote. It seems like that is slowing down here at least.

  4. I can’t wrap my head around the Starbucks Apple Crisp Latte. I should just try it.

Love the dog costumes! We don’t do anything fun like that with Scooby. Not sure he’d put up with it!

    1. I'd love to see Scooby dressed up! Maybe for Halloween?

  5. Your dog costumes are so cute! Disney is “only” 50 years old? I thought it would have been older. I love pumpkin pie & pumpkin bread/muffins/bars, but the PSL doesn’t get me excited. Then again, I’m not much of a coffee gal LOL

  6. MMMmmmm a pumpkin milkshake. Your porch fall scene is adorable & very fallish. I love all those scarecrows. We keep one in the garden year round & it's time to change it up. Those are very cute dog costumes. Several years ago I entered my pom in a 4th of July dog parade. She was robbed as well, because of her age it seemed. She danced & put on a show. Seemed the judges were looking for a young dog, oh well. Karen

  7. Aww, cutest costume ever! There should be a recount! I have a shark costume for my cat but she definitely isn't a fan of it, haha.

I miss Sheetz! I haven't been to one in ages. :[

    1. I can't believe how well they kept those costumes on. They didn't seem to mind one bit!

  8. I almost never buy drinks at coffee shops -- a lot cheaper (and usually better) to make it yourself.

It looks like you had a great September! So many fun activities! I'm a little envious of any beach time, LOL!

  10. That ladybug costume!!!!

I don't love PSl, but let me know if the apple crisp drink is good. I've heard the same about it and haven't wanted to waste the calories and money if it's disappointing.

  11. No fall drinks for me yet. Love your pet parade. Your dog is so pretty and looks so sad because it didn't get a prize. I enjoyed hearing about your September.

  12. That frozen PSL looks amazing! The pet parade sounds fun and I agree that your dog was robbed not to win. What a cutie!
