Beaches and Cream at Disney's Beach Club Resort

We didn't have one bad meal during our last visit to Disney and in fact, every one of them was review worthy!

Since we were staying in the Yacht Club / Beach Club resort area, we decided to go to Beaches and Cream one evening since we had never been there.

Unfortunately when I looked on the app, there were no reservations available. When there are no reservations available on the app, you can sometimes join the "walk up" wait list.  When we got closer to Beaches and Cream, I did try joining the walk up list. ( You have to be in the general area of the restaurant you want to eat at to join this list from your phone)  Unfortunately that list was full and wouldn't let us join that either.

So I thought I would just ask the young man at the podium if there was anyway we could get in and sure enough that worked. He said if we didn't mind sitting at the counter, we could be seated in about 15 minutes.  Perfect!

We sat in some chairs out by the pool area and took a much needed rest until they were ready for us.

It was just the two of us and we didn't mind sitting at the counter.  In fact, we thought it was the best seat in the house.  We loved watching them make the food. This actually helped us determine what we wanted to order.

Beaches and Cream has an old fashioned ice cream shop vibe, but it is so much more than that. It has a full lunch/dinner menu full of sandwiches and sides.

I was debating between a few entrees because they all sounded good but I decided on the Beaches and Cream Grilled Cheese with Creamy Tomato soup.

Because I don't like Tomato soup I asked our server how much extra it would be to substitute it for the bowl of Chili and to my surprise she said nothing!  So I got the Grilled Cheese with a bowl of Chili for the same price!

My sister got the Bacon, Cheddar, Ranch, Chicken Sandwich with lettuce and tomato, on a multi grain bun with a side of loaded fries.

We both REALLY enjoyed our meals here.  I think even the atmosphere had something to do with it!.

All the servers here were incredible. I think this was the one Disney restaurant that we had the most interactions with the servers. It may have been because we were sitting right at the counter and we could converse with them every time they walked by.

We were really full after our meals so we considered just sharing some sort of dessert but after a while, we just decided to get something back at the resort later in the evening so we could have it for when we watched our movie.

We thoroughly enjoyed watching the servers bring out all these big desserts for everyone else though.  We were particularly intrigued with the family who ordered The Kitchen Sink! The Kitchen Sink is Beach Club's signature dessert. It is a large metal bowl with 10 scoops of ice cream and a ton of toppings.  Of course we had to stay to see if they ate it all!

I'm so glad that we checked this place out. If you want to eat at a certain place that does not show any reservations on the app, it is worth checking in with the cast member at the podium if you are in that area.  We were pleasantly surprised  with our experience here!

Have you ever eaten at Beaches and Cream?  What other restaurants in the Beach Club/Yacht Club resort area have you enjoyed?   -M

  1. Sounds yummy! There's an ice cream place in Door County Wisconsin that has the Kitchen Sink too! We've never ordered it but it always fascinates us!

Thank you for sharing these reviews!
