April Highlights

Holy cow, we’re wrapping up the month of April this week!  How can that be?  I know it's a few days early to be wrapping up the month but that's the topic on TOTR  this week so I will oblige!

Because I had this cough and chest cold hang around longer than I wanted, there wasn’t a whole lot of running going on, but that’s okay because this was one of the best April’s. Here’s why…

1  - The weather has be absolutely gorgeous and everything is green again! We haven’t had many rainy days like most places. If it rained it was usually at night or in the middle of the day while I’m at work anyway.

2  - Going to Hershey! As you may recall I ran the 10K and then had the best time at the Hershey Spa. Visiting the Spa may have been the Highlight of my month! Is it any coincidence that the Hershey 10K was the weekend before Easter? I still have so much chocolate leftover!

3 -  Miles with my sister. I don’t always run with my sister because she is faster than me, but since I needed to ease back into my running after being sick, she agreed to walk the trail with me which I appreciated.

4  - EASTER! I absolutely LOVED Easter this year. We usually travel for Easter but this year we went to my Parent’s house for dinner (and a doggie egg hunt of course) and I couldn’t have been happier. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and it was a great day to stay in the area. We also visited my family at my Pap’s house and made an adult egg hunt for our adult cousins. It was actually a lot of fun because Lacey and I were the only ones who knew where the eggs where!

5 - I’ve been using my fitness tracker again and on Monday through Friday I’m able to get in 10,000 steps. For some reason I struggle with it on the weekends. I'm I the only one?

I don't have any big plans for the rest of the month so unless something amazing pops up, this was my April in a nutshell.  Oh, our community Arts Festival is this weekend so I hope to check that out and see if my favorite artist is there (she does lab prints)!

What was the highlight of your month? Are there certain days you struggle with getting all your steps in? -M

We are linking up with the lovely ladies from TOTR.

  2. Haha, that is a very good question! I've been "trying" to be good about it!

  3. Sounds like a great month! I struggle with steps unless I am running or going for an intentional walk. Sometimes on the weekend I can get alot of steps in if I meal prep and clean the house. But otherwise my steps are really low.

    1. Me too. If I didn't purposely walk or run I wouldn't get them in.

  4. Great month! I agree, the best part of April is seeing how beautiful and green everything is.

  5. Idk, you had that amazing "as seen on the run" find! That had to be a highlight (or lowlight) for you!

  6. I do a lot of cleaning on the weekends, so I could get more steps in, but I don't have a tracker. Now that I'm in a bigger place, it's takes longer to clean, and throw stairs in. I do try to veg a little bit though, and it's important to relax when I can.

    1. It seems like in all my spare moments I am trying to walk now instead of relax!

  7. Sounds like a fun month! I love that you and your sister were able to spend that time together on the trails. That's funny about the fitness tracker. I usually have an easier time getting my steps in on the weekend since I'm at my desk most of the time at work. I really have to remember to get up and walk every hour. But the worst is when I'm working from home. I rarely get 10,000 steps on those days.

  11. I struggle with everything on the weekends except getting runs in if they are scheduled. I don't know how it is so hard.

    1. If I were training for something i'd do a long run on the weekends but now I've just been putzing around the house.

  12. It's hard to get my steps in if I don't run. I have a job where I just sit at my desk all day.

I love those days where the sun was out. Not today :(
