Fall Style Guide FAIL

Today's Thursday Thoughts are all about style. As I was debating on what to write about for my next Fashion Column, I thought I would check out my newest edition of Women's Health magazine that I subscribe to. Afterall, it was the Fall Style Guide and I thought for sure I would get some inspiration from it as I see what the newest trends are going to be this Fall.

Well, let me tell you, if these are the trends for Fall this year, consider me to be untrendy!
I can't just talk about this. I have to show pictures.

I'm not sure which is worse, those pants or the fact that she is wearing those shoes with those pants.

I have a hard time believing this is considered style. The skirt might be nice for a formal event if it was paired with the right top. And don't get me started on her accessories...lol

Don't see any style here either.

I could go on and on with pictures but I'll just stop here. As you can probably tell, I felt very un-inspired after reading this issue.

Help me out gals, what should I write about for my next Fashion Column?

  1. Oh.My. I guess I'll continue my fashion "style" of workout clothes. It's certainly no worse than those pictures LOL.

  2. How can anyone workout in a sweater, and an ugly sweater at that? I've seen better at the Ugly Sweater Run.

    1. Hmmm, I'm not sure it was meant to work out in. Or at least I hope not.

  3. I'm not a real risk taker when it comes to fashion. I like to be comfortable cool, give me the entire fall line from Athleta please. This stuff? Maybe I'm just too old, but I don't get it!

  4. Sometimes I wonder why they post the fashion pics they do-who wears this stuff!?

    1. You got me! It certainly did not inspire me to want to re-create these outfits!

  5. Consider me untrendy all the time. I see stuff like this and I really have to wonder what the designers are on. My fashion choices are very safe but that also means they're flexible. A black pair of pants can go with quite a number of things.

  6. It looks like the wardrobe person just blindly reached into random peoples' closets in 1991 and called it an outfit. Thank god I'm not into fashion, because I wouldn't be caught dead in this stuff.

  7. I don't usually keep up with trends so I'm no fashion expert, but OMG these outfits are horrible!!

    1. Yea, I'm pretty sure you could put a better outfit together than these without even trying!

    1. I do think the skirt has potential if paired with the right top, but I am not a fan of the fraying at the bottom of it.

  9. How about making it easy on yourself and make it what NOT to wear? You already have the pictures, lol!

  12. I often look in "fashion" magazines and think WHAT???

  13. YIKES!! I feel the same way about fashion shows. They're a fun spectacle to watch, but the "fashion" is typically freakish.

  14. That last picture reminds me of something from the 90s, but with real pants instead ... weird pics for a health mag ...

  15. Most the fashion in magazines is just riduclous...
I don't see the every day girl wearing 99% of the stuff they put in there.

  16. I am laughing at those pictures. Although I kind of like that long skirt, but definitely not with that top:)
I will never understand the fashion show world, but if it sells magazines then they probably don't care if the clothes they put in it are actually bought and worn:)
Maybe you can do a fashion article on magazine fashion vs real world fashion....

  17. I never really understood what many people call "fashion". I prefer comfortable, down-to-earth clothing in agreeable colours. Whoever came up with the concept of low-rise pants should never be allowed to invent any other articles of clothing ever.

  18. I can't really help - I'm fashion impaired. I do kind of like that skirt, though I'm not sure about the fuzzy bottom.

  19. I am so not trendy! I don't think I would wear any of those. But I'm pretty much in jeans and a tee shirt or running clothes, so who am I to talk?

  20. Was that a funny pack in the skirt pic?! That is all kinds of wrong. LOL!

  21. UGG- I am with you! that stuff is horrible! What are we to do????? I won't be pinning any of that on my style board!

  22. What the what? A fanny pack? With a skull cap thing? And those pants...oh those pants.... That is just horrifying! Thanks for sharing, I needed a laugh! :)

  23. On the bright side, it looks like we can take a pair of our favorite running shorts and team them up with a nice fall sweater, and consider ourselves fashionistas! :-)
