A Peek in our Week

Hi guys! Since we were exhausted after yesterday's half marathon we decided to move our Peek in Our Week to today. Hopefully everyone had a fun and relaxing Labor day. I can't believe summer has come to an end. It certainly still feels like summer around here with the temperatures being so high lately. I guess according to the calendar it is still Officially Summer till September 23 ( the fall equinox)! So get your last few days of swimming and beaching in!!!!

Anyway, here is how our week looked last week.

As I mentioned last week, I got a cortisone shot in each of my hips and I was having chest pains so no running for me what so ever last week. -M

Traveled to see my sister on Thursday and took a lovely walk around the lake. ~M

I did 5 miles each day last week but Wednesday I did 9 miles as my long run and then treated myself to a dinner at Runth's Chris. -L

Friday : Rock n Roll Virginia Beach Race Expo and then out for dinner with a friend ~both
Saturday: The Rock n Roll mile on the beach ~ both

Sunday: The VA Beach Rock n Roll Half Marathon, like always it was hot!

I was happy with my time, but I am afraid I am not going to ever get back to my pre-injury 13.1 time.
Sadly I think that ship has sailed and I need to re-adjust my goals. ~M

Considering how hot it was, I was still happy with my time as well. -L
Sunday night: Train Concert on the beach and fireworks afterwards.

Needless to say we were beat after running in the heat all weekend.

We'll talk more later folks!

  1. Can't wait to read your race recap! It's funny that it's the last (unofficial) week of summer but has been super hot & humid.

  3. A Train concert and fireworks on the beach sounds amazing! One of these years, I need to do that race. Looking forward to your recap!
