Hello 2014!

Hello 2014!  We are participating in A Friday Five, so here are five thoughts on 2014 ( although I'm sure we could come up with many more)!

1.  We have so many things planned for 2014 already that it's almost scary! We are kind of "fly by the seat of our pants" kind of gals and really don't schedule that much ahead of time but as of right now, we have already committed and paid for events that are happening in November! That is so not like us! We are each registered for 6 races so far this year. Some are ones we've done before and others will be a new experience!  I'm sure we'll be registering for a few others as the year goes on.

2. Speaking of running in 2014, Yesterday I received the January 2014 issue of Runner's World in my mail box which is funny because I didn't subscribe to it. I did however get a copy when it came out earlier in December.  Have you seen the January issue of Runner's World?  I had to laugh when my sister told me to turn to page 87 because she thought that was a picture of me. Turns out she was right! The picture was taken during the Runner's World event I was invited to in Bethlehem. What a great way to start the year!

3. Those Holiday Challenges: How did you do on yours? We participated in 2 of them over the holidays, The Runner's World Running Streak with Karen Loves to Run and the Scavenger Hunt with #RunChat. I have to say I am glad they are over. I did very well with my running streak, but I didn't do very well recording it. I would do the run and then mark it down on paper but always forgot to submit it online. Doing the Scavenger hunt was a blast and I even won a prize! I look forward to doing more Challenges like this one. I believe Lois from Running to Disney will be coming up with something too. You should check out her page!

4. Now that the holidays are over I need to reduce my sugar intake. Who's with me? This was my farewell treat on New Years Eve!  ( I only ate one of them)

5. Since a lot of bloggers were talking about goals this week, we feel that we should mention that we haven't really made a list of goals for 2014, but we have in our minds the things that we want to work on and things that we want to accomplish. We hope to talk about these things individually in their own posts throughout the year. More on that later!

Is there something fun that is happening for you in 2014?  What are you most looking forward to?
~M

    1. The funny thing about that was a few years ago I was randomly flipping through a magazine and I saw a picture of my sister and now she is randomly flipping through and notices that picture of me!

  4. Nice RW pic! I have my issue with me. I did the Running Streak too and am still streaking. Going to go as long as I can. I found it really motivating! Excited to start 2014 at WDW Half. Doing the 5K, 10K and half! Yay, warm weather!

    1. Congrats on keeping the running streak going! I could probably commit to doing 7 miles each week (one for each day), but I would have to do multiple miles some days because not every day is conducive to running!

  6. It's been easy for me to cut back on the sugar since I was on vacation and will be on vacation soon enough. My fridge is a little bare, so no sugar treats in my house right now.

  7. Vacation time would be the worst time for me to cut back on sugar! I am more tempted to eat a dessert on vacation than I am at home!

    1. You have some great things to look forward to! I posted the link to the "Pin It" button on your blog. I honestly don't remember how I did it, but I saved the page where I found out how to do it because I 've noticed that every time I make a minor change to the blog, the button goes away and I have to re install it!

  20. I got the Feb copy of Runner's World, but not the Jan! I'll have to go back and see if I missed it somewhere. How fun that you're in the issue! I hope you framed it :)

I'm still trying to figure out my goals for the year. Hopefully I'll know what they are before February hits!
