On my last visit to Disney's Wilderness Lodge, I noticed they had this cool ID kiosk, in which you could make dog tags. So of course I had to make one for my Labrador Sybie! This kiosk is located in the Wilderness Lodge lobby, around the corner from the Wilderness Lode Mercantile, the resort's gift shop.
I started out by selecting the shape and style of the tag I wanted. The styles may change depending on the time of year you are visiting and what celebration Disney is celebrating.
Then I wrote Sybie's name on it. You could have three lines of text. It would have been a good idea to include a phone number or an address, but I didn't. I just wanted to use this as a name tag.
There are several font options to choose from.
It also allows you to purchase additional accessories like a loop or chain to put it on. I knew I was going to attach it to Sybie's collar with a loop we already had, so I did not purchase these. They would have been an additional $4 or $6 depending on what you added.
You have the option to pay with cash or a credit card.
I chose to pay cash. At the time of this post, the cost was $15. If you pay cash, you need to have exact change. If you don't have exact change, pop on over to the Mercantile gift shop near by and tell the cast member what you are doing and ask for change there.
After you pay, the machine engraves the tag as you wait. It doesn't take long.
Ta da! A shiny new tag for my Sybie! I know she'll love it!
A better look at the tag.
I was excited to gift Sybie with her new tag. We will put it on a real loop on her collar soon!
These tags could be made and used for a variety of different things, not just dog tags.
I have also heard there is an id tag kiosk at the Polynesian resort as well.
Have you ever made a tag at these Kiosks?
Till next time~ M
