Weekly Wrap... November 11

Since Lacey is preparing to run Rock n Roll Las Vegas later today, I'm going to be taking over the Weekly Wrap this week.

It appears we are coming to the end of our warm Fall in my neck of the woods.

After a 5 mile run

Up until this weekend, my fall runs have been fabulous and warm! I could kick myself  for not getting out after work this week to enjoy what was left of that great weather but some work obligations and other errands took over my daylight hours so I traded in my runs for biking on the Nordic Track.

So yea, my runs turned into biking this week. Which actually wasn't all that bad because I was able to watch TV! I biked twice this week for a total of 10 miles. It's not much but at least it's something.

This fall Baylee and I have developed a new routine. Old girl needs a little more time doing her business these days so now we have to go for walks. Yup, I am up early walking her in the neighborhood in the morning before work and then I feel like a stalker as I walk her before bed at night while carrying a flashlight!  I have been thankful that my Baylee walking weather has not been too cold in the mornings and in the late evenings, but after this weekend I think that may change.   That's okay though because I am ready for leggings and fleece everything!

I think the weather today may dictate that I make my home cozy for the upcoming holidays! I have some holiday throws and pillows I want to put out and I actually have some holiday gifts I may wrap, but then you know what that means? I'll have to put my Christmas tree up soon!  Last year we put one of our trees up on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, so I'm hoping to make that a tradition!

When do you start decorating for the holidays? -M

Thank you to Holly and Wendy for letting us share our week with them.

  1. I usually try to get our "big" tree up on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving...but in recent years, it's been morphing into a weekend project (after Black Friday shopping). The other tree goes much faster, so I can usually get that all up and decorated in an evening after work. All the other decorations happen here and there as my time allows ;-)

    1. Our big tree is usually the last thing to go up because I cant do that one myself. Originally that was the reason I got all the smaller trees...lol!

  2. Baylee looks so happy! Do you have a fenced yard she can go out in? I know she wants to walk now, but in the past is that what she did?

    1. We have one of those invisible fences. She would never leave the yard but the thing is she won't go out IN the yard without me. If I don't walk outside with her she will sit on the porch and wait for me. It's gonna be a long winter..haha

    2. What a diva!!! (My cats are divas too. I mean it as a compliment. Sometimes Jelly won't come upstairs for his food so I deliver it to him.... )

  3. One good thing about living in the south (and I'm sure there are a lot more than one thing) is that your winter is so much shorter than ours! I'm already over the cold and wearing leggings. LOL

    1. We are actually in the Mid Atlantic so we do experience all 4 seasons. However, I'm just now breaking out the leggings!

  4. I don't decorate for the holidays, but I usually put my Charlie Brown twig out somewhere around mid December or sooner if I stumble on him.
Dish towels are my only holiday thing and I tend to use them year round.
    Baylee is beautiful

    1. Baylee says Thank You! I got a new kitchen last year so I've been buying more decorative seasonal towels too!

  5. It's starting to get colder here too! I am still having a hard time believing that the holidays are so soon. We are planning to do our tree the weekend of Thanksgiving.

    1. We've ALWAYS put ours up around that weekend too. Last year was the first year I ever put it up before thanksgiving.

  6. I use my headlamp to walk Scooby in the morning. Our neighborhood is pretty well lit, but there are some spots that are dark. I wont start decorating for Christmas until a week or two after Thanksgiving. I love your run Disney shirt!

    1. Thanks! That is one tech shirt I actually do like!

I would be too impatient to wait that long to decorate...haha

  7. The shorter darker days have me craving cozy blankets and leggings. It has not been too cold yet though

  8. That is such a pretty picture of Baylee in the pink leaves!

I get overwhelmed by all of the Christmas decorations in our house so I don't start until December 1st usually. And yes, it's all put away before Jan 1st, LOL.

    1. Thank you. She is easy photograph! I may put my decorations out a bit early but I have it all put away on New Years day! By then I'm ready to start fresh!

  9. After seeing two trees already up this week, it makes sense to go ahead and take care of that on a day I'm off -- like tomorrow. LOL. Typically it happens the week of Thanksgiving. Lately, we've been walking our dogs while our house is being shown. It's a little hard wrangling three though. I know Baylee loves her time with her Momma! Thanks for linking.

    1. I have not seen anyone that has a tree up already but I did notice someone in our neighborhood stringing their Christmas lights up, which is probably not a bad idea to do before it gets too cold.

  10. Our recent cold snap has me craving cozy comforts as well. I'm tempted to decorate but it's way too soon, although the stores are all selling fresh wreaths and trees already.

    1. Wow, I haven't seen any real trees being sold yet. Probably wont see that till after Thanksgiving.

  11. I haven't started decorating yet, but I some new ones today, and I'm itching to get the Christmas stuff up. Allie is really going to enjoy the Christmas tree, like always.

    1. Does Allie ever damage the tree or make a mess of the ornaments? We once had a dog that use to bite the lights on the tree whenever they blinked. Needless to say we had to stop putting up blinking lights.

  12. It was downright cold this weekend- I'm SO not ready!
I normally put up my trees the Sunday AFTER Thanksgiving. I'm hoping to get at least one up this year -not even going to attempt all three with the twins!
HOpe you have a nice day!

  13. Yeah, I wasn't ready for the quick turn to cold weather either! Love the photo of Baylee :) We don't usually start decorating until after Thanksgiving.

    1. Besides last year, I never decorated before thanksgiving either!

  14. I do minimal decoration because we're always out of town for the holidays. But when I was a kid our tradition was putting up the tree the day after Thanksgiving.

    1. That was my tradition too. I'm not a Black Friday shopper so that day was spent decorating!

  15. I don't decorate. :) But then I'm Jewish.

I have to walk the dogs early during the summer, because the heat gets to Lola (and before it got to her, it got to Chester). But luckily I don't have to walk them in the dark. We have been walking the dogs twice a day when we can, but soon it will be too cold for that!

  16. It definitely seems like the warm part of fall is over and now we're getting closer to winter! I can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week, meaning we'll have to get a Christmas tree soon! I am so not ready!

  17. I start Christmas decorating the first thing on Black Friday. I love getting it done early so I have a long time to enjoy it. We're under a winter advisory tonight and tomorrow so it may start looking a lot like Christmas up here soon (most likely we'll get a wintery mix, though).

    1. That's when I normally decorate too but after doing a few days early last year, I kind of like the tradition.

  18. Growing up our tree always came up just a few days before Christmas and I can't of stuck with that with my own little family. But thinking of getting it up even earlier now as the kids are getting very excited. Maybe the first of December, LOL. My mum will be shocked when she comes round to ours, LOL!
