Fun Fuel

My husband loves to shop on Amazon Prime, so guess where most of my gifts come from?
Last year for Christmas one of my gifts was an entire box of GU's of various flavors.  This year I was the lucky recipient of an entire box of Clif bars.   One year he bought me a box of the Holiday flavored Clif bars (pumpkin spice, gingerbread, and pecan pie).  This year he bought me just a variety pack of flavors that I didn't even realized existed.

The variety box consist of the following flavors:

Peanut Toffee Buzz
Chocolate Crunch Peanut Crunch
Coconut Chocolate Chip
Apricot
Blueberry Crisp
Oatmeal Raisin Walnut
Chocolate Brownie
Chocolate Almond Fudge
Chocolate Chip
White Chocolate Macadamia Nut
Crunchy Peanut Butter
Nuts and Seeds

Some of these flavors I have had before, but I did not know you could buy a variety box of all of these.

I really do like Clif bars, but they are very filling and if I eat them after a run I rarely eat the entire bar.

Another running favorite are Honey Stinger Waffles. I never had a Honey Stinger flavor that I did not like.

Okay, now for an unhealthy treat. I've been eyeing up this cookie dough from the cookie dough cafe at my local grocery store. It's not cookie dough to be baked as cookies, it's to eat right out of the jar as it is. I'm assuming its safer to eat than regular raw cookie dough because it doesn't have eggs in it. I've been putting off buying because I know it's not healthy, but this week my appetite got the better of me and I had to try it. It is A-okay!   -M

We will be linking up with the gals from TOTR.

  1. We also do alot of shopping on Amazon Prime and usually get clif bars and honey stinger waffles. I agree that the clif bars are really filling. I only really eat them when Im really hungry and cant sit down for a substantial snack.

  3. You have a very thoughtful husband! I've tried Clif bars before and they are super yummy. I used to eat honey stinger waffles before my long runs but last year they started messing with my tummy for some odd reason.

  4. I have never gotten much into Cliff bars...I didn't realize how many different flavors they have! Like you, I seldom can eat the entire bar, though.

  6. Those are fun gifts! I love a good variety pack. I feel the same way about Clif Bars. I like them but they're such carb/calorie bombs I can never finish them. My daughter threw that cookie dough in the shopping cart a couple weeks ago. I stayed away from it. I'm sure it was deliciously decadent.

  8. I have a Clif bar at the end of the day at work, so I can digest it before getting home and doing my workouts. I rarely eat the whole thing, but it's a good boost of fuel.

  9. I love the brownie Clif bars - that's what I bring for breakfast when I work at the gift shop. And I have heard very good things about that raw cookie dough from friends, but haven't dared buy it just yet. One container is a single serving, right? ;)

    1. Actually, They do have the single serving cups. I believe they are 4.3 ounce cups. You get 4 cups for the same price as a 16 ounce container. Although I do not need all 16 ounces (yet I will eat it), it just made sense to buy the large one!

  10. I'll sometimes use a clif bar pre-run (or a half of one! they are so filling) I prefer to eat real food when I can, but sometimes a quick bar is all you have time for, and it gets the job done!

    1. The cookie dough is scrumptious. It's a good thing that it is not cheap, that way it keeps me from buying it every week!

  12. I really like Honey Stinger waffles but have never tried them as official running fuel - I think they're delicious!

I haven't purchased Clif bars in ages, I really liked the peanut butter but it's so filling!

    1. Honey stingers and Clif both have some great flavors! Wish honey stingers had peanut butter waffles but I have yet to see them if they do.

  13. My stores carries that cookie dough, too. I know it's a bad, bad idea for me to buy it. I do a healthy version of almond butter mixed with protein powder or pb2 with some cacao nibs. Helps the craving for me!

  14. I love the Clif bars! I don't buy them too much but my favorite is the oatmeal one and the nut-butter filled ones. I feel like I need that cookie dough stuff in my life. :)
