Every year I am thankful for the usual stuff, My family, friends, health, job, etc. I am still extremely Thankful for all of that but in an effort to reflect on this year, I want to pick out a few things that stand out to make this year unique in its own right.

I know the year is not over yet so I am hoping I don't Jinx myself by mentioning these things too soon.

1. I have remained injury free all year! I have not had to run any races injured this year and it felt AMAZING!

2. Baylee's health. This one is HUGE guys. Last year at this time our vet didn't think she would even be here another year.  She is not with out issues but she is doing well and is a Happy dog!

3. The weather. I don't mind the heat so the sweltering summer felt great and the fall heat was just perfect. As we head into December we still have not hit really cold temps and that feels good!

4. New Races. This is the first year in 7 years that I did not run a Disney race and ya know what, I didn't miss it. I made a goal of running Big city races instead and got to cross 2 more cities of my list this year.

5. Family time. This is something I'm thankful for all the time but I appreciate the trips, the races, time spent boating, and just getting together with family on a Sunday afternoon.  We have a few more things planned for the rest of the year that I am looking forward to as well.

What is something unique to this year that you are Thankful for?

  1. These are great! Im glad your dog is doing well and that you have been able to stay injury free. Im also enjoying the cooler temps right now, although there have been a couple of really cold days that have been a tough adjustment.

  2. I'm thankful for good health and family. Nothing out of the ordinary!

  3. You have a lot to be thankful for, Meranda, and you deserve it! :) I'm thankful for Chrissy and Jelly's health too. I know we take care of them, but anything could happen out of our control at any time. I'm glad they're strong and healthy and enjoying their lives.

  4. AS you know my summer was unlike any I am extremely thankful for the gift of WALKING. Walking certainly is not my sport of choice, but I learned a new respect and appreciation for it this year ;-)

  5. Being injury-free is a big one. Me too!!

Running new races is so much fun. I ran a few this year too.

  6. Hooray for being injury free! I love this time of year to really reflect on all of our blessings! :)

  7. That's a lot to be thankful for! I'm hoping to be thankful for being injury-free next year... for now I'm thankful to have recovered so quickly from my ACL surgery.

  8. Well, when it comes to running, I had an outstanding year (the personal front was a different story).

That's wonderful that Baylee is still doing well.

  9. Those are all wonderful things to be thankful for! I have so many -- including closer relationships with my (grown) children and my new kitchen. ;-)

  10. Yipee for Baylee!!! .... I have a new yellow lab grand dog ;) My grandsons are so excited. a little girl - her name is Bree <3 I already want to keep her myself

  11. It's SUCH a blessing to be injury free! While we've both had our little tweaks and pains, we've been mostly healthy and we're SO thankful for that! And we're thankful for all of the 'bumps' in the past year and a half that have ended up driving us in the right direction. Just goes to show you never do know where you're being led!
    Happy Thanksgiving!
