The Day I've Been Waiting For

If you have been reading our blog for a while now, you know that we mostly talk about Running, Traveling, Disney, and our Labradors! Of course we often talk about other things, but those are probably the topics that give us the most joy!

We have had plenty of joy this past week and a lot of it revolves around our sweet labs!  Here are just a few things we wanted to share with you.

1. Our friends at Gone For a Run know we just LOVE our dogs, so they asked us to review their new line of  "Running with my Dog" items.   Lacey chose the long sleeve, light weight performance hoodie.

The hoodie is made out of a moisture wicking polyester/cotton blend and is perfect for morning runs when it is still a bit cooler out. These are fitted hoodies, so if you want it loose order a size up. Lacey is wearing a size Medium and said it was still a bit snug.  The  Gone for a Run "Running with my Dog" line also includes, T's, tanks, hats, medal displays, dog items, and home décor. They are all super cute. Check them out HERE.

2. In other exciting news, I have been selected to write a pet feature for a magazine! And guess what, it has to be all about Baylee! I am super excited. I just don't know what story about Baylee that I want to tell. The editor said I need to include about a dozen photos too. Pictures of Baylee? No problem!

3. Okay, lastly, this is the day I have been waiting for.........  Anyone that owns a retriever (Labrador or Golden) knows they shed like crazy.  This Spring as been a rough one for Baylee ( no pun intended), with losing clumps of hair. This hair ends up around the house and on our clean clothes.  We love this girl but it's getting to be too much. SOoooo, since the weather finally turned warm and I can assume it's here to stay, I shaved her for the summer!
Baylee is such a good dog. She just relaxes as I use the electric razor on her.

Her fur grows so fast that I know this is of course only round one, but her and I both feel SO much better!  Plus, she looks so darn cute when she's shaved.
She looks like such a puppy again and about 10 pounds lighter!

Tell us something fun about your pet.

  1. GFAR has the best Labrador goodies! I got the same hoodie and run log, and joined in on their Run Dog Run 5k last weekend. Which of course, Calypso the Wonder Mutt proudly displayed the medal!

  4. Lola has a serious underbite and a kid once asked me why she was frowning at him. :)

Unfortunately I can't run with her -- it would make life so much simpler if I could!

Congrats on the article. That should be so much fun!

  5. aww i am such a dog person and she's precious! i don't have one in my apt in NYC but we have 2 upstate at my parents' house who are my lil babies (both Shih Tzus) and they have the funniest personalities -- one is so sweet and puppy-like and darling and always happy and wants to be loved, and the other is so alpha and always "on" and gets sooooo upset if we pay attn to the sweeter one, even if someone else is holding her! it's so funny.

  6. Aww... she does look adorable! I'm sure it will be hard to choose the photos to go with your article. Something fun about our cats... we've been taking Perry out for periodic walks on the leash in our backyard and he's been loving it so far :) He loves to roll around out there and get covered in dirt and then continue exploring. He may be a dog in disguise.

    1. Thank you! I actually bought one of those lint balls for my dryer to see how well that removes the hair from my clothes.

    1. It is an article in an actual magazine, not an online story so I'm not sure I'll have a link to share. Sorry.

  16. A whole article about your pup!? That sounds like a dream to write.

Let's see. My pup Tuck is about 80 LBs, but one of his favorite ways to show affection is by sitting on your feet. Whether your sitting or standing doesn't matter to him. He just wants to be as close to you as possible. He's a pit bull & would be the worst attack dog ever. A friend of mine, who had never met Tuck, came by the house one day when we were all at work. He had a key, came in the house, took the things he needed & left. He said the pup NEVER BARKED. Haha.
