I read something really fun this past weekend. And you know me, when I read something fun, I
usually want to share. This story had to do with running, so of course I wanted
to share!
It was a story about
Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber ( DJ and Kimmy from Full House/Fuller House). It talked about how they’ve taken their
childhood friendship to a different level now that they are both adults with
families and how they both enjoy running.
I had known for a while now that Andrea was a runner because
she ran Rock n Roll Las Vegas the same year we ran it, (and has since claimed it
as one of her favorite races)! Actually,
Candace Cameron Bure was supposed to have run that race as well but as I stalked
browsed her IG account I noticed she was at home with her family and never made it to
Las Vegas. She never even mentioned the race so I wonder what happened there?
But anyway, this article in Women’s Running, talked about
how the two got started with running. I
found this very interesting because Andrea’s first race was the Tinkerbelle
Half Marathon four years ago. Where you there? Who wouldn’t be hooked on running if that was
their first race? She then she went on to run several more half and full marathons.
Candace of course was inspired by her friend’s half marathon
and decided she wanted to start running too. The two did a 10k mud run
together. Candace has not done a half
marathon yet but she plans to run her first one with Andrea. And guess what,
she said she promised Andrea that she would do the Tinkerbelle half marathon
with her. There was no word as to when
she would be running that race but if you are going to Tink next month I’d keep
an eye out!
I just thought this was a great “feel good” story about two
friends that have been brought together even closer because of their love of
running and pride in each other’s accomplishments. If you’d like to read the entire story it can
be found in the May issue of Women’s Running magazine. Do you have a friend like that?
And with that, I have successfully complete the April AND May issues of Women's Running magazine. I am on a roll! -M
That's what I love about running, it is so much more than the actual run itself. It's such a social thing too.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. I think that's what got me hooked on running at first.
DeleteI saw that article too! I love that they are still friends now and even run races together. I always think it is so cool when I hear a celebrity has done a runDisney race!
ReplyDeleteYes, I also think it's cool when I here of a celebrity running any race!
DeleteI was just thinking it looks like you are getting better at plowing through magazines! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been doing well with keeping up with the new ones coming in but I still have a TON of back issues I need to catch up on. Hopefully this summer I will.
DeleteI do have a friend like that! My best friend since 3rd grade. She's living in Brazil right now, so it's hard to do things together.
ReplyDeleteAs a huge Full House fan, I love this!
Aww, I know what it's like to wish your friend lived closer.
DeleteI just read that this weekend myself & loved it. I love that they still are friends through the years & that they push each other to be better & healthier
ReplyDeleteYes, I like that they inspire each other.
DeleteThat is a great story. I definitely feel like I've become closer to a couple friends through running. It's a nice excuse to make time to see each other a priority.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have any old friends that run (not yet anyway) but i've definitely become close with some new runner friends!
DeleteThat is awesome! I grew up watching Full House and I used to want to be just like DJ Tanner. =) It's very cool seeing that Candace and Andrea are still friends to this day and continue to support each other so well!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, it really is!
DeleteLove this story. I have several running buddies who've become dear friends as we've shared the road together and I'm really grateful for that.
ReplyDeleteAnd I do love hearing about all your running buddies!
DeleteI read an article about Andrea Barber and her running a while ago... and I have to admit, I developed a woman's crush on her after that! I love her in Fuller House, and I think that is because I know she is a runner IRL.
ReplyDeleteit's great to see how they are still friends! Thanks for sharing the article! and good job on finishing the magazines!
Thanks! I still have not seen Fuller House!
DeleteI love that they've stayed friends after all this time and now they are running together. Because we all know runner friends are the best friends.
ReplyDeleteIndeed they are!
DeleteI love that they were friends before but running brought them closer together. I'm a sucker for "celebrity cast mates become actual friends" stories!
ReplyDeleteI know, isn't that cool? I guess when you spend that much time together a relationship is bound to blossom!
DeleteI saw that article too! So fun that they are running buddies too I love that
ReplyDeleteI love this story! Thank you for sharing with us! I'll be at Tink so I'll keep my eyes open for them. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is such a neat story...I love it and I love both of them! Tink would be a fun race to run with a best friend! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that they are both runners! I have been enjoying watching Fuller House lately:)
ReplyDeleteI love Candace! I just love her family values and her values even as a celebrity. I also love how she's taken on such a new love for running and healthy lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteI did not know this story, but I loved reading about the two girls. Makes me love Fuller House even more, gosh I can't wait for them to put up new episodes:)
I have quite a few friends that I have wonderful memories running together. A couple of my youthful running buddies are living where I am going and we've already been talking about hitting up a few running trails together. I have a lot of friends locally that are all runners, we don't run together but oh getting together and chatting about the races, nothing better than doing it with a great friend!!
Thanks for sharing this fun story today!!!
Yea, I like how candace has upheld her values in her adult life!
DeleteWhat a great story!!!! :-) I have several running friends, and miss them a lot. Since I am not running as much, I don't get to see them very often.
ReplyDeleteI am so behind on reading my magazines! But I love those two girls!
