I'm a little sick of the color, but alas I am too lazy to go through the effort to re-paint it. Actually I think the thing that is holding me back is that I haven't found the perfect drapes yet! But in the meantime I am going to try to redecorate in other ways to bring in some different colors.
I wanted to add shades of blue to this room and this pillow that I received from Gone For A Run is helping me do that. This is just the incentive I needed to start displaying more colorful decorations.
I haven't bought any throw pillows in quite a while because I had a dog that would chew them a part. This particular dog no longer spends time in the living room anymore, so I am happy to display this pillow there! I was surprised to see that the pillow had a smooth satin-y type finish on it and the casing is removable and washable. If you look really closely, inside the chevron print is a stick figure runner girl. It's hard to see and I didn't notice it either at first. The pillow insert is actually a faux down and it very soft. I really liked the Chevron print and wanted it in blue ( because like I said, I want to start adding more color to my room), but there are lots of fun styles and prints to choose from.

The above dog pillow was also a contender. You can of course get your name or a race bib printed on it as well. Gone For A Run has over 50 styles of pillows and each one of them comes in multiple colors.
Scott keeps encouraging me to hang my medals downstairs so I can show off my accomplishments, but I like all my medals upstairs in my dressing room. However, I do like that Gone For a Run has these items that have a running themes without being too "in your face" about it. Like the subtle 13.1 on the pillow I got, and the great word art that is pictures in the first photo. Gone For a Run also has some cute picture frames and some wall art as well. ~M
Do you have any "Runner" decorations in your home?
I am a Gone For a Run ambassador and was provided the 13.1 pillow free of charge. As always, all opinions are my own.
I love it! We are moving soon and I want a place that has running decorations without being "too in your face". I think I need another medal hanger too :)

Gone for a Run has some great accent pieces without being"too in your face"! Congrats on a new home!
DeleteThose pillows are so cute! The only running decor I have is my medal holder, but I eventually want a blanket made of my race shirts.
ReplyDeleteI blanket will be nice. Did you see the discount code we posted last week for the race blankets?
DeleteVery cute! I would love to get something like that if we had a more causal room in our house. I actual want to set up a whole running corner with motivational signs, race memorabilia, etc.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a nice idea!
DeleteThe only runner decoration I have is one of those cool blocks of wood with a saying on it. It says, "No road is long with good friends." I don't think it specifically meant the ROAD, but to me, it reminded me of all the long runs I did with friends and all the chats, support, friendship, and bonds we created during them. I love it!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a cool decoration!
DeleteLove this! I am always sharing your blog with my runner friends!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I hope they enjoy it!
DeleteAll of the pillows are adorable! I might have to look more closely at the site and add an item or two to my Christmas list.
ReplyDeleteYou could certainly make a long list with all the cool stuff on their site!
DeleteI only have one section of my room for my running stuff. I have my medal display and some stuff from high school sports. Since I live in an apartment, I don't really decorate that much since I'm moving every two to three years.
ReplyDeleteI could understand that. You probably don't want to put unnecessary holes in your walls.
DeleteThese are some really cute ideas. I might have to share this on my personal FB page, too, since I have a truckload of friends who run!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I appreciate it.
DeleteIt's all so cute and I love the story about the pink living room! Wish we had a picture of it too!
ReplyDeleteMaybe someday I will get to do a before and after pic! You can actually see some of the wall behind my chair in the above picture!
DeleteI think choosing paint colours is one of the most stressful things about moving or renovating! I agree that it can be the accents the make the room look livable. I really like the pillows, I've got some zebra-striped throw cushions that eventually will be part of a savannah-themed living room.
ReplyDeleteI did that theme in our family room years ago. Unfortunately I changed themes a few years later!
DeleteI need like all of those pillows.
ReplyDeleteThe dog one is my fav too :)
I was totally going to choose the dog one but I didn't want it in pink and the blue option was a blue dog on a blue pillow. I wanted a yellow dog of course!
DeleteLoving these pillows! I didn't know that Gone for a Run had them! I have purchased a bunch of stuff from them before to decorate my gym, these will definitely be next! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteYes, I love all their items!
DeleteThose pillows are so creative and adorable!
ReplyDeleteI like that they can be customized too!
DeleteThese are really cute pillows and I definitely like the subtlety. I'm planning to put the race medals in my work out room but this is a good option for something in the more public areas.
ReplyDeleteYes, I like that the pillow I have looks like any other stylish throw pillow!
DeleteSo much love for this post! I'm moving to my first apartment in a month and I was just thinking about how I want to stock up on pillows - these are perfect! So motivating!
ReplyDeleteYes, this would be perfect for you. There are SO many options!
DeleteI love the bib pillow. Gone For A Run seems like a great company. I want to go through them to do something with my NYCM bib.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see what you get made! They have tons of options!
DeleteThat's pretty cool... i'm not a runner but anyone who is - this is a great resource for them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Linda!
DeleteI think I am going to need some of those pillows-so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love those pillows! I keep my running stuff contained to my office, but I think subtle decorative items throughout the house would be nice, too. I'm with you on choosing a paint color - best thing that's happened is those sample pots of paint you can buy...saved me from a couple really hideous greens that I was considering!
ReplyDeleteWhen I bought my house I decided that all the rooms had to be a different color. I did it all but the hallway/stairs (mostly cause I'm terrified of heights) and the two rooms. It's been over ten years songs I still don't ever want to paint again. :) I do love those pillows though.
ReplyDelete@heatherless
The story about your living room color cracked me up! I agree about painting being a huge project. Our walls have been the same color since we moved in 12 years ago--and they are colors I would not have chosen. I should just plan a painting project and do it!
ReplyDeleteI love all those pillows! I'm heading to Gone for a Run now to browse. :)
Painting is such a pain. That's why I would rather live with a color I didn't like!
DeletePainting is such a pain. That's why I would rather live with a color I didn't like!
DeleteI need some of those pillows! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of running stuff all over the house, but that might change after I run Boston in April. I do have my medal hanger in the bedroom and have my AG awards on my desk!
ReplyDeleteThat's why I love these subtle pieces!
DeleteSuper cute! I have no running decor. I probably wouldn't want it everywhere but I would like some as its such a big part of my life.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea! My room is all decked out in runner stuff, but that is where it stops. However, last year I saw a picture circulating of a guy who decorates his christmas tree in race medals, I have decided once I get closer to 100 of them, one year I am going to do that!
ReplyDeleteI also thought about last year, maybe turning my race bibs into ornaments for a tree, like modge podge the onto round balls or something... Maybe every other year have a running tree, LOL Yeah, I am seriously dorkey enough to actually do that eventually:) haha.
