I woke up as we were just pulling into the dock in Port Canaveral. It was still dark, but there were some shining lights and beeps. Nothing really to see, so I went back to sleep for a while.
When we woke up for good, we packed the last of our items and quickly got ourselves ready to get breakfast. We had already packed the majority of our luggage up the night before. Since we only had carry on bags, we did not sit our luggage out the night before. If you want Disney to take your luggage off the ship for you so you can walk off the ship "hands free", you can sit your luggage outside your cabin door before 10:00pm the night before. You know we didn't do that, because we like to be in control of our own bags!
We were able to leave our bags in our room while we went for breakfast.
Breakfast this morning is in the same dinning room where you had your dinner the night before. For us, that dinning room was Lumiere's. I do not believe the buffet is open on debarkation day.
I wasn't really in a breakfast-y mood, so I didn't order much.
I had a grapefruit and some eggs over breakfast potatoes. Everyone was real quiet today at breakfast and actually not all our table mates where there. Some may have e got off the ship already.
After breakfast, we went back to our state room and waited for our color/character to be called. That's how we knew it was our turn to get off the ship.
Debarkation was very easy ( we carried our on luggage off). We headed straight to the Disney Cruise bus that took us back to Disney World!
Overall thoughts:
1. If you've ever been on any other cruise ship ( Disney or otherwise), you will notice immediately how small this ship is.
2. This ship is not "flashy", glamourous" or as "beautiful" as the Disney Wish.
3. It is "dated, but well kept.
4. Although it is an older ship, it looked fresh and was very clean.
5. All cast member were very nice.
6. Although the ship was small, it didn't bother us because it made it easy to get from place to place. We never felt like we were walking too far ( and we had a room near the very back of the ship).
7. Being on a small ship was a positive when we docked at Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. The island was built to accommodate the thousands of guests that would be sailing on the largest of the Disney ships. We were on the smallest of the ships, so with the small amount of guests that were on our sailing, the island felt almost empty. We had no problem finding beach chairs and a place to sit to eat lunch!
8. We really liked all the themed dining rooms!
9. Every stage show was amazing!
10. I've said this about the Disney Wish, and I'll say it about the Disney Magic ( and maybe all the other Disney ships as well), there are not as many physical activities to do on a Disney ship compared to Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Carnival, etc. There are no rock walls, zip lines, ice skating rinks, etc. The Disney Magic did have 2 water slides which were nice, but nothing spectacular, and even the swimming pools were not impressive.
With all this being said, we still love a Disney Cruise for all the small details and that Disney magic that it provides. We will more than likely plan on going on another one!
Till next time ~M and L
