Coffee Date Chatter

I'm going to "share" coffee this weekend with Coco and Deborah, ( and all of you).  You might remember that I don't drink hot coffee, but I do prefer frozen and this past week I got a yummy one from Dunkin. I got a Blueberry  frozen coffee. I don't know why I ordered that flavor since I'm not really fond of blueberries, except that it sounded refreshing.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I received my first order from the Safe and Fair Food Company (clickable Link) Their products are what you would consider "Clean Food"....Vegan, Non GMO, Allergy Free, and loads of other "Clean eating" words!  I ordered 3 bags of popcorn, Birthday Cake, Key lime pie, and Blueberry Crumble ( which is why I think I ordered the blueberry coffee because I was thinking about this popcorn all day...lol).  I also ordered Key lime pie and Birthday Cake granola.  As soon as I got my order, I noticed they added Strawberry Shortcake. Had I known that I would have added that flavor to my order as well!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I'm actually thinking about starting my Christmas shopping.  I certainly DO NOT want to rush this year, but I've been watching Christmas in July on QVC ( no judgement) and it had me thinking about what the future is going to be like with COVID.   I think all of us were thankful that the quarantine did not happen over the holidays but what if it DOES happen again?  What if more stores close, and even shipping becomes an issue?  Maybe I'm thinking a little too extreme, but hey, it's 2020 and anything can happen, right?

So, anyway, this Philosophy body wash set from QVC  (Clickable Link) was something that piqued my interest last night.  You get 16 different scents ( summer scents like Strawberry Daiquiri and winter scents like Christmas Cookie).  It comes to less than $5 a bottle ( they are normally $12).  Just look at all the stocking stuffers right there!

Which brings me to the next thing I'd want to talk about over coffee....Facebook. I normally do not use Facebook. Our blog posts automatically post to our blog facebook page (I set this up 7 years ago and if you asked me today how to do it, I would have no idea...lol), but I have not been on my personal facebook page in a very long time.  Last night I was so excited about the special value on the body wash at QVC that I shared the link on facebook.   I will tell you that facebook has changed so much since the last time I've manually posted anything. I was so confused.  Why does it look so complicated?  I checked my post 24 hours later and only 2 people had seen it, so was it really worth posting?

And lastly, I would discuss Vacation.  This is an issue I am just so torn on. Do we go? Do we not go?  I know I will not be flying on a plane this summer, and that I am totally okay with but is driving somewhere okay?  Is it okay to stay over night somewhere? Do we only do day trips?  I just don't know.  I see all these people going to the beach and wonder if they are going to quarantine themselves when they come home ( I'm wondering about the people in my own family/circle of friends)  I would hate for them to catch something and bring it back to my grandparents!   In reality it is probably safest for me to just stay home in my own pool.

When do you start holiday shopping?  What do you think of facebook?  How do you feel about vacationing ?  -M

  1. Facebook is a total mess right now LOL Not just with all the hate spewing left and right, but the format (?) changed this week (at least it did on mine). My personal page/feed is so weird...the font is huge and I haven't figured out if I can reduce it or just learn to adapt. My running page has been weird for a few weeks, via my phone, as well. I have been getting more traffic on there, so I keep utilizing it, but I really get the most interaction on Insta...and I like that social channel the best. Total first world problem, but still...

    1. After reading some other blog comments, I realize it wasn't just me on the whole FB thing. That really wasn't one of my favorite forms of social media anyway.

  2. I do all my Christmas shopping online--I don't like shopping, so that works out well for me. I don't start until closer to Christmas, tho. I guess I need the pressure!

I'm not doing much on FB except for my blog page--it's become too divisive and I've actually lost a few friends because of things they've posted. Sigh.

    1. I usually do all my shopping online but now I worry about not getting things I want to purchase or even shipping times!
I'm not too broken up about FB since I didn't really like it anyway...lol

  3. I think I'm going to have to try some iced blueberry coffee. I hardly ever drink iced coffee just b/c I limit caffeine to one cup of hot coffee a day (though the size of the cup may vary) but that sounds pretty yummy. We're torn on vacation, we want to go, but it's like what if the beaches get closed down or something like that. Ugh on FB, I can't remember the last time that I posted anything and I don't go on very often.

    1. Iced or frozen is the only way I drink Coffee! I would love to go to the beach just for the day but I know my husband doesn't think it is very safe to do so!

  4. I really need a vacation but I don’t see it happening. Even going to my mom is complicated! The bathroom issue! I went yesterday. I was gone 6 hours total & one pitstop. It takes planning!

I think you’re wise to think about shopping now. As I mentioned last month, I don’t see Thanksgiving happening at my house — or even with my family. The only way it could would be if they allowed visitors to dine in where my mom lives & then i’d suspect we’d be too many even though we’re not that big a group!

    Enjoy your holiday!

    1. Isn't is funny how we get older, things like traveling just seem more complicated? I am perfectly content to just stay local!

  5. I don’t think we will be going anywhere this summer. And “staycation” has a whole new meaning this summer when we truly are staying at home. If I had a pool I would definitely stay home and enjoy it. I can’t wrap my head around blueberry coffee — how would that even taste? I have been enjoying blueberry pancake though.

    1. I am enjoying the pool but I wish I could get my dogs to enjoy it too! Baylee was the best swimming partner, she never wanted to get out. I can't get these new dogs to want to get in!

  6. I just got a new look on FB too. It is slow to load and really confusing. I do check my FB page but most of the people who are my friends on FB I know in real life. LOTS of political stuff - ugh!

We were supposed to fly out to CO to visit our grandson the end of the month. We just canceled our plane tickets. We are thinking about driving, but have the same concerns as you. I thought we were going to be OK, then the numbers for the virus started trending up again. Now I don't know.

  7. Safe and Fair started in Chicago! I like their granola. Need to try the popcorn.

I asked about vacations in my post today, too. I want to do something like a lake house to just get out of the city and relax outdoors for a bit. We'll see.

  8. It's not a bad idea to start holiday shopping now! I mean I am never organized enough to start it early but I could definitely see there being delays in shipping as the holidays get closer. We aren't vacationing this year but I think its different for everyone. It depends on alot of different things.

  9. Hey why not start Christmas shopping! So many good sales right now might as well take advantage of them. That popcorn sounds really interesting with those flavors. Let us know how it is. Thanks for linking up!

  10. I've seen a few ads on Instagram for Safe and Fair and I have been thinking of trying it out. Love that they use very clean ingredients too.

I see no issue with starting Christmas shopping now - it's never too early!

  12. I have been thinking about starting Christmas shopping as well! I am worried about how things will change and mail is just sort of starting to become consistent but if we are all rushing itll be difficult. Also as far as vacations go, it's such a tough go. So much to consider and process. We are not doing any vacation planning even for the winter and into the first half of 2021. We are lucky to have our cottage at the lake and we escape there and change scenery. 🤞 2021 will allow us to explore once more.
