Disney's Sea Side Sprint at the Boardwalk

The last week in October, my mom and I were in Disney for the Food and Wine Festival. While we were there, we decided to run another Disney fun run. This time it was the SeaSide Sprint at the Boardwalk. We originally were not planning on running this race, but we brought costumes for Mickey's not so scary Halloween party, so we thought we might as well  dress up and run a race!

We had to Uber there in the morning.  Not sure how long that would take so we arrived in plenty of time.
We got dropped off in front of the Swan and Dolphin and had enough time to grab a coffee and watch the sunrise.  Registration was at Jelly Rolls on the Boardwalk and that is also where the race started. After registration there was a little dance party to get us moving before the race. They explained the course to us and soon we were off.

I don't know if they were a bit unclear of their directions or we just weren't paying attention but we were unsure of where the turn around point was. We heard at the bridge. Was it past it? Was it before it? We thought there would be a sign or person there directing us, but no one. So a bunch of us just decided to turn around and head back. While we were running back we passed a person riding a bike towards that direction. I guess this was the person to tell us where to turn around. A little late for that!

We first started running on the trail along the lake. We ran up over the overpass then turned around and ran over the bridge, passed the Swan and Dolphin, and onto the other side of the Boardwalk.  We continued to run around the Boardwalk before finishing back at Jelly Rolls.

By this time the sun was out and it was already getting quite humid. We were beginning to think second thoughts about our outfits. Good thing it was only a mile and a half.

We soon crossed the finish line and received a fun pin and a coupon for a free goofy glacier(slushy). We waited for the others to finish then we grabbed a snack and a water and then headed over to receive our free glacier.

Since we ate so much delicious food at the Food and Wine festival, this was a great way to burn off some of those calories!

Have you ever participated in fun run at Disney's Boardwalk? -L

  1. Those costumes are cute, but do look like they'd be a challenge for a race LOL I've been to Disney too many times to count, but still have not been there when a race was happening. I have done a few races in the sunshine state, though ;-)

  2. I am impressed that you pack costumes! The last time I was at Disney World Epcot hadn't even been finished. Were they doing races there then, LOL? I'm not a Disney girl, but it looks like you guys had a lot of fun!

    1. Yes, it was definitely stress free. And we didn't start at 5am like most Disney races do.

  4. Looks like fun! That must have been weird to not know where the turnaround point was. Glad it all worked out!
