Summer Beauty and Pro Box

It's no secret that I like getting the subscription boxes in the mail.  Right now I only get the Beauty Box because I feel like it is a good price for the surprises that you get. Actually it's Free, and you only have to pay $5 shipping. I do believe this is only seasonal, so it's not even every month, which I like.

This is what I got in my Summer edition Beauty box.

If my memory serves me well, I do believe that I will get another one in late summer as well.

The other day I got a new surprised in the mail.  It was a box from GNC and it was addressed to Scott.  Of course I was curious as to what it was so he said I could go ahead and open it.

It was another subscription box with GNC goodies in it. So my husband now does subscription boxes, who knew?

We looked through it together and of course Scott said that I could have it.

Nothing in here really excited me except for this huge protein cookie. And to be honest, the cookie wasn't even that good. Anything that has the term "Birthday cake" on it should be sweet, and that wasn't.  Scott said this box comes every couple months, so I assume it is also a seasonal subscription. He said it was like $30  for the subscription, which I think is a bit too much, but you get coupons in it so I guess it's worth it to him since he buys a lot of stuff at GNC.

The GNC box is a "new to me" box. What boxes are new to you? Would you recommend them? -M

  1. I have to say I am not a fan of subscription boxes. Everyone seems to like them though, and if someone sent me one, I wouldn't say no.

Holly and I had those protein cookies this past weekend. I thought mine was pretty good. Of course, I got chocolate chip. I didn't mind that it wasn't too sweet--I don't have much of a sweet tooth.

  2. Wow subscription boxes are rampant these days! I think they're a fun surprise but like you, I don't need them to be every month.

  4. I'm wary of subscription boxes because I'm so picky, and what happens if I don't like anything in a box? I was gifted a box for Christmas one year, with all cat stuff. I knew something was in there because Allie was all over it. When I opened it, there was a catnip toy.

    1. I don't really care if there are things in the box that I don't like because i don't depend on the box as my main source of beauty products. I do buy my own. It's just nice to have to try new things.

  5. I'm kind of with Wendy on this one. I'm really picking about my beauty products AND my food -- although there are still some pretty awesome boxes out there that do appeal to me.

You can't beat free + $5 shipping, though!

    1. I buy the things that I need or like on my own and just use the boxes for fun or to find new products. I found a really good face cream that way.

  6. I didnt know GNC had one.
I have been using Mighty Nest & LOVE IT!!! Its $10.00 a month & they send a natural/environment friendly product. I have gotten the coolest things. Last month was a bottle of cleaner that comes in a glass bottle & a refill. YOu put the powder in & put in warm water & shake it up - its SUCH A GOOD CLEANER!!! ... & I just got this months box & it is the coolest little plastic/silicone kinda bag that you can microwave, freeze, to not use plastic storage containers. I think I have a thing to give a free box if you're interested.

  7. I like getting mail and trying new things, so I should probably get a subscription box. I get those influenster boxes every so often and usually love them, but you know you have to post reviews and photos... Sometimes I get too busy to follow through!

  8. Interesting, too bad that cookie wasn't good. It looked like it should have been from the packaging :( Someone gave me a birchbox subscription as a gift recently so I'm looking forward to trying that.

  9. Subscription boxes can be pretty cool. I really like the StrideBox...the Bulu Box had a bunch of stuff I wasn't interested in. Something with beauty products would be nice to try!

  11. I used to get a Stride Box but then cancelled because I didn't really care too much for the items in the box.

  12. I don't use all of the stuff either but some of it is nice to use as stocking stuffers.
