Weekly Wrap....Feb 19

Hosted by Hoho Runs and MissSippiPiddlin

Welcome to another edition of the Weekly Wrap.  I feel this week was pretty productive as far as getting out there and getting some miles in. I know that my mileage is no where near impressive as I only do a little bit during the week and then TRY to do a longer run on the weekends, but that's what works for me and my lifestyle. It's all about balance!

I don't remember what I did on Sunday so I'll just start on Monday.

Monday- Gym day

Tuesday- My Valentines Run of 4 Miles

Wednesday - Rest

Thursday- Run 3 Miles and Bike 3 Miles

Friday -Gym Day and 3 Miles with a friend (We saw 6 deer on the path)!

Saturday- 13.1 mile run.

The weather on this run was gorgeous but the run itself did not seem easy. I ran the same route I did last weekend for the first 10 miles and even though the route was the same, my pace was drastically slower. Perhaps it had something to do with how hot it was and that I was a tad overdressed. When I finished I was completely exhausted and felt extremely accomplished. I treated my self to a Starbucks Peach Green Tea and a Lavender Mineral Soak (that I received in one of my previous Beauty Boxes).

I thought my quads would be killing me from all the hill work I've been doing but they didn't hurt at all. I did however have a bit of soreness in my calves, knees, and toes.  I spent a lot of time in my calf/foot massager afterwards.

This week was a cool mail week as I got lots of goodies. For some reason, the UPS guy has decided that he will no longer drop things on my porch without a signature which can be very annoying. I actually had to put a sign on my front door telling him to leave the stuff on the front porch!  (Maybe it's a new guy/gal).

1. All the shoes I bought from Amazon. The blue ones in front are the only ones I am keeping, although after having worn them around on Friday I should probably change my mind on that.

2. The Fierce VoxBox that I received compliments of Influenster for reviewing purposes. This was a weird combination of items in this particular VoxBox, although I am sure they will all be useful.

In this month's box

-SheaMoisture Argan Oil  & Almond Milk Shampoo
-SheMoisture Argan Oil & Almond Milk Blow Out Creme (to tame unruly frizzy fly-aways)
-Sinful Colors nail polish
-Madam C.J. Walker Softening & Silkening Brassica Seed Oil  (a light weight hair oil that provide shine for heat styled hair)
-Vaseline Jelly
-Carefree Active Fresh

3. I also purchased some new nail color, top coat/base coat, and remover from Sensationail.

And that's a wrap for this week. How's your mileage? Any cool mail this week? -M

  1. I did get some cool mail this week--my Grandma's marathon half zip premium came!! They gave it to those of us who signed up in December. It's very nice.

I gave up on those Vox Boxes. They just weren't my thing.

  2. Nice job with the long run! I ordered some new shoes on Amazon that should be coming this week. I hope they work out! I also got my first Stridebox this week which was exciting- planning to share what was in it in a few days!

    1. I hope your shoes work out. I just found out that even though I got free shipping and free returns on one pair, they are still charging me a restocking fee!

  3. Sounds like your quads are stronger now from the hillwork- that's great!

    1. My quads didn't even hurt during the hills. I must be doing something right at the gym, right?

  5. Like Wendy, I also got my Grandma's jacket...and have already worn it ;-) Oh, I got some new shoes yesterday, but they didn't come in the mail, I bought them the "old-fashioned" way...in a store LOL

    1. I so wish I could find some decent shoes at the store. I think I'm lacking the patience to shop.

  7. 13.1 was the same for me this week! Great job! It felt a tad off for me too ok Saturday. But then I remembered why I run and everything seemed easier! I'm ok the fence with the subscription boxes. I haven't really found one I love except stitch fix!

  8. I like those gray shoe boots! Can not have too many pairs of shoes! Great job on the 13.1 that is always mentally tough to get to for me and I have not done it in a long time. Have a great week!

    1. I really like the grey ones too but unfortunately they have to go back because they are too tight in the toes.

  9. Vaseline Jelly!? LOL I haven't seen that around in forever! I had a voxbox a couple months ago and put it in the cupboard until I would have time to go through it.. I kept putting it off and forgot about it, it's a lot of work to do all the things Influenster wants you to do. I was pretty good with the first couple but it feels cheesy to me to post some of it on social media. They are really fun to get though!

    1. I agree with you about the box box, especially when the items are so random!

  10. Isn't so weird that some runs are so hard and some seem so easy? I don't want to be hot on a run (don't like that either), but I'd like for it to be skirt weather again. Thursday maybe! Yesterday was warm, but with the snow on the ground still pumping out cold . . . not THAT warm.

What a fabulous mail week! How fun!

    1. I could have totally wore a skirt on my run on Saturday. Hope you get that warm weather on Thursday.

  11. Great work with your long run. It's so easy to get outfits right at this time of year. It's either too much or not enough!

  12. I had a good mail week too. My StitchFix arrived as well as multi-colored lights for the front wheel of my bike. I can't wait to see how they look. Not every run will be good. Kudos for persevering and getting in those long miles anyway. It also sets up the next one to feel incredible! In answer to your mileage question, all 111 of mine were cycled this week. Thanks for linking, Meranda!

  13. I ordered a top from Oiselle last week that was already on sale, and they had a promo code to take more off the price! It'll be a fun mail week this week. Last week I didn't get much beyond normal flyers.

  14. That's really fun mail! I don't think I got anything too exciting this week. I'm working on getting my mileage back up again- the gorgeous weather we've been having definitely helps!

  15. My mileage is super minimal, as I have no marathon plans (yet) this year. A break has been really nice! I like saving longer runs for the weekend too - then we can enjoy the sun instead of running in the early morning darkness.

Fun mail is the best! Hopefully your mail person will loosen up and leave packages w/o the signature. Trying to the UPS is like a rabbit hunt!

  16. I just got a new VoxBox and it was kind of odd: two giant bottles of shampoo and conditioner. I'm not complaining, but it was a very heavy box. I hope I like it since I now have so much!

  17. Ahh seeing your new shoes reminds me I need to shop for Spring work clothes. It's not nearly as fun as shopping for workout clothes, why is that?
I did get in the Flex it Pink virtual run medal and tank the #runfortherescues :)
