This is Love!

Happy Friday Folks. Today's theme for the Friday 5 is Love.

Labrador Valentine

I can't write a post about Love and not mention my sweet girl who just oozes love out of every yellow hair on her fluffy body.

I thought I'd write about some of her idiosyncrasies and see if your pets do the same thing. If you don't have pets, then you can just tell me how adorable Baylee is...lol.

1. Any time I turn the water on in the shower, she comes busting into my bathroom like she owns the place. It doesn't even matter if she is sleeping down stairs, she hears that water and she is right there. She will adjust herself (she fights with the bathroom rug) on the floor and tries to put her nose in the shower. I keep promising her a bath soon, but I want to wait till it gets a little warmer out.

2. Every morning, 15 minutes before my alarm goes off, Baylee gets off her bed and jumps on to mine.  She makes her way up near me and lays her head on my pillow with me. This makes it SO HARD to want to get up when the alarm finally does go off.

3. She has HER SPOT on the couch. She's like Sheldon.

4. The minute I pull my Yoga Mat out to do stretches (yea, I don't really do yoga but I do stretch on the mat to prevent dog hair from sticking to my exercise pants), she has to be right ON the mat. Not a workout or stretch session goes by with out her participating in it.

5. She LOVES the camera. Really. Anytime I get the camera out, she poses. This makes it easy when I want to take pictures of her wearing costumes or doing something cute. It can be embarrassing though. One time we were walking along the beach (it was in the off season so there were very few people there besides us), and a family came walking by. The mom posed her children in front of the water and pulled out her camera. Baylee saw the camera and ran over and sat beside the children!  They all thought it was funny. I guess I have her trained well!   -M

  1. Baylee is beautiful and sounds like an awesome dog :) I love how she loves to pose for the camera, my dog Cola does not. He would rather look anywhere than the camera especially if I am trying to take a selfie with him.

    1. Perhaps you need to bribe Cola with some treats! Baylee is awesome. Thank you!

  3. OMG, the photo of her curled up . . . so sweet! How is she doing?

That story about photobombing is too funny. Except for Bandit, who hasn't quite gotten it yet, all of my are incredible hams. It actually makes if more difficult though -- they're doing something cute, I pull out the camera, and they stop whatever cute thing they were doing & come over!

Let's see, Mr. Judy lets the dogs out before I go to bed. And even though he wants Bandit to stay downstairs with him, almost every night Bandit comes racing upstairs & jumps into his bed on the couch (well, he time shares it with Lola).

Which is exactly what he did last night. Once Mr. Judy finally got him off, he ran right over to me (on the other couch) and jumped into my lap! Which he never does.

He seems to want to be a lap dog, but just either can't bring himself to do it or can't figure out if it's allowed (hello, look at Gizmo velcroed to me every morning & night) or just can't figure out how to do it comfortably. He also laid on me while I was watching some tv, which he doesn't normally do either (Giz was NOT pleased, but again, he gets me morning & night) -- must've been the fact that it was cold yesterday!

    1. I honestly thought that was a funny situation too!
When I try to take pictures for the blog, she does the same thing. Sometimes I have to put her outside so I can take a pic sans dog!

  7. This is so freaking adorable. What would we do without our pups! Speaking of, mine is currently begging to be fed, taken out, and played with. Off to do my duty!

  8. My pup loves when I do yoga!!! She does not like the camera tho. It's hard to get cute pics of her.

  10. So super cute! If I ever had a dog, that's the kind of dog I would picture myself with. I dont' know about her waking you up 15 min early though! LOL thanks for the linkup today

    1. She doesn't always wake me up. Some days I don't even know she is there until I wake up!

  11. Awwwww, Baylee ;-) Our Max does the same thing, regarding jumping on the bed in the early morning. He stays away from the pillows, and usually just curls up by our feet, but EVERYDAY.;-)

    1. She does lay at the end of the bed sometimes but I much prefer when she lays near me!

  12. So funny that she loves showers and baths because Selma HATES them. The weird thing is she loves water though, and she will lick your hand to death if it's wet. When we go to bed she sleeps at the end of the bed, and slowly through the night when she thinks we're asleep she'll crawl inbetween us and snuggle in. When I turn on the lights in the morning she always hides under the blanket because if it's before 7 she doesn't want to get up! If it's after that she'll just stand over me until I open my eyes and then attack me to get up and take her out!

    1. When my hair is wet she loves to sniff and roll in it. That is a true testament as to how much she loves water..lol

  13. I love how labs always look like they are smiling for pictures. And that is hilarious she photo bombed the beach family! My kitties hijack my stretching towels and they both definitely have their "spots" around the house. I really hope I can meet Baylee someday!

  14. Aw, love this! My dogs also believe that my yoga mat belongs to them. I'm pretty sure I've invented new poses trying to stretch and twist around 4 dogs hogging up my mat.

  15. Such cute photos! I don't know what it is about pets and the yoga mat. Perry is like that too. He has to come investigate as soon as the yoga mat gets rolled out.

  16. Awww! What a sweet girl! Sounds like true love! :-)

  17. Oh my, your Baylee is hilarious. My cat used to come into the bathroom when I was done in the shower so he could lick the shower walls. My dog now comes running every time we open the pantry door because he thinks he's getting treats. Pets are funny!

  18. What a cutie!! she is adorable! I love that she has to have her spot on the couch! my cordy used to lay on top of the couch by the window, where she could keep a good eye on all the other dogs in the neighborhood.

    1. When she was a puppy she would lay on the top of our couch! I have a picture of that too.

  19. Awww, I love this! Baylee is adorable! But then again, I"m partial to labs, they truly are the BEST. My Chester boys (black lab) does some of these things as well...except he's is not a camera ham. And the shower deal is funny too! Chester, like all labs, love the water and doesn't mind a bath ...yet he does not like coming near the bathtub when I'm soaking in the tub. Weird. I just love how everyone's dogs take on different personalities. They definitely make our world a better place!

  20. Before my big move, Allie would hunker down to snuggle 5-10 minutes before my alarm would go off. Just like you, it made it extremely difficult to want to get up and get ready for work. I know that was her plan, make me want to stay home and snuggle the whole day.

    1. Yup, that must be Baylee's plan too. Too bad it only happens twice a week (for now).

  21. How sweet! Aren't our pets too funny?! Mine have their own silly little quirks as well...like every time I lace up my running shoes, Maddie thinks she's going, too!

    1. Yup, Baylee too! She can't run anymore though (or walk long), so I do feel bad when I go without her.

  22. OH my gosh... I love your girl too - she is just the cutest!!!
Makes me miss my Buffy Sue so much. yellow labs are just amazing animals.

  23. She's very cute! Cool that she loves the camera too!

  24. Paco and Baylee could be twins with being picture-ready. And Paco loves to lay on my legs when I'm in bed in the morning (my husband gets up earlier than me and lets Paco out of his crate, where he beelines to our bed). I have a hard time getting up then - he's so comfortable!

  25. What a sweetie! My Chloe is just like that with my yoga mat. Now if I could get her to take decent pictures. haha!

  26. I love this post! While we don't have any pets, you are so right that they are an unconditional source of love. I feel like this time of year and Valentine's Day is overshadowed by the love between couples, but in reality, you can have love for so much in life aside from significant others. Plus your pics are awesome!

  27. I agree that right there is love! I tell my dog all the time that one day he is going to break my heart because I know he won't be around forever! I hate I'm so attached to him but how can you not be with so much loyalty?

  28. OMG! That camera story is HILARIOUS!! I literally laughed out loud. :-)

My girl hates the water and the camera. She does have her own spot on the couch, but she likes to take over my spot a lot, too. Snuggle time with her certainly does make it difficult to get out of bed, though.

    Cute post!

  29. Bailey is so cute!!! I used to feed my dogs at night and had that very same trouble with them wanting to get in my bed and snuggle in the morning. Once I changed and started feeding them in the morning, they started waking me up!

  30. Bailey is beautiful and makes me miss our beloved Shilo- the hubby and I need a puppy!

  31. Awww now I miss my dog. She passed a year ago (can't believe it's been a year already). I'm sure we will adopt another one when the kids are older. Dogs are the BEST!!
