Weekly Wrap ...May 8th

Hello and welcome to the Weekly Wrap, a link up hosted by HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin!
So, how did our week/weekend go?

Something that is frustrating me this week is my MisFit!  I received a free MisFit Fitness tracker because I was participating in a "Step" Challenge at work.  Well, as much as I DO like it and I am very thankful that it was given to me for free, I've been having some hiccups with it.

1. When all the dots light up on the device, that is a notification that you have reached your goal for the day (10,000 Steps).  I notice that my dots light up (and I think I've reached my goal) but when I check the app, the reality is I'm only between 6,8000  and 8,000 steps.  That is very frustrating for me.

2. The second thing that has been frustrating me is that the clip itself is very cheaply made. Shortly after I wrote this post last week, my clip broke. I mentioned that I was thinking about ordering the bracelet for the tracker but decided against it because I like to clip it on my shoe when I ride bike.  Well, I received a new clip last Friday, but that only lasted a week. This Friday my new clip broke. I am not hard on this device, I just think the plastic is weak.  I am a bit embarrassed to ask for yet a third clip.  Thankfully Scott had an extra Fitbit Surge, so I will be wearing that for the remainder of the Fitness Challenge which I believe is another 2 weeks.  Besides the fact that the Surge is a little bit too large for my wrist, I am LOVING it!  It does SO much!  All the info is right on the screen and I don't have to look at any app to see my progress!

How about  running?

Well, as you know, I have been taking it easy because of my foot pain (but I won't be dwelling on that anymore as I am hoping I am on my way to healing).  For that reason, there was no running for me this week.  I may try a short run later this week because I do have the Girls on The Run 5k this coming Saturday. Lacey participated in a 5k on Cinco de Mayo so I can't wait to hear how that went.

Have a happy week all!   Has anything frustrated you last week?  -M

  1. That sounds really annoying about your MisFit! Glad you had another option to get you through the rest of your challenge.

    1. Yes it is. I am glad I gave the Fitbit a chance though. I've been loving it.

  2. I didn't know you had been having more foot pain, so sorry to hear! Hope it does clear up quick!
I've actually never heard of the MisFit until now. I have a Fitbit and I absolutely love it, all my family and local friends have them too, we go crazy with fun competitions on them. I think that's probably my favorite part is the competition and interaction app portion you can participate with.
Sorry your MisFit isn't working great. If you are looking for a different tracker, I have nothing but good things to say for Fitbits:)
Again, hope the foot heals quick!!!

    1. Yea, this foot pain came over a month ago after wearing a pair of dress shoes that I should have never worn!

I just started using a fitbit and I love it already!

  3. I wouldn't be embarrassed to ask for a 3rd replacement or a refund! If the quality is that poor, then they need to know.

  4. Pedometers drive me nuts. I don't put much stock in them - I just don't believe that they work!

  5. That is super frustrating that the clip on the MisFit has broken twice, and that the step counts are inaccurate! As always, I wish you the speediest of recoveries on your foot pain. How exciting that the GOTR 5K is Saturday! Can't wait to hear Lacey's race recap, too.

  6. That looks like exactly the tracker I got because it was so cheap on sale. I returned it before I used it though. I guess you get what you pay for! I've heard great things about the Fitbit Surge.

  7. Taking a break from running is a good idea. Hope the foot is improving. I would ask for a refund on the MisFit. Sounds like a poor quality product.

  11. I didn't know they even made a MisFit. I'm not sure I would have chosen than name. (With your issues maybe they named it appropriately?) I have a Charge HR and love all the info but am on the second one within a year's time. At least they have great customer service!! Good luck with your upcoming 5k. I hope you foot is better since your break. I had a small issue with mine last week. Boo! Thanks for linking with us Meranda.

  12. See things like this get me in a tizzy for sure. I hate it when electronics do not work right. I guess you said it right, good thing it was free. How much longer do you have the challenge at work?
