When I found out I was able to get off work to run the Surf N Santa I was thankful because that meant that I would have completed all the J and A races for the year 2013- Virginia is for Lovers 14k, Shamrock Marathon, Crawlin Crab half marathon, Wicked 10k, and now Surf n Santa. Even though you do not get anything additional (which I think you should, like an additional medal?) It's more of an accomplishment for myself. Someone did say you get a lunch cooler (I guess that's better than nothing).
As excited I was to be able to run this race, I knew it was going to be a cold one. The day before the race it was 77 degrees. I thought "wow" maybe we'll luck out this year with good weather. Not so much. I woke up to rain and wind with temperatures in the 40's.
