Weekly Wrap...March 4!

How is it the 4th of MARCH already?

Sunday was pretty foggy all day and I think it sprinkled on and off. I decided to stay close to home so my sister and I did a two mile loop around my neighborhood and we did a LOT OF HILLS!

On Monday I tried one of the Dunkin Donuts Girl Scout Cookie Frozen Coffees, I got the Peanut Butter Cookie flavor and it was awesome.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't think about that drink a few more times this week...lol.  Since I had the drink, I was inspired to run a little longer on Monday.

I ran 6.2 miles.  While on the trail I saw the cutest little dog. It was a Minature Labradoodle. I thought perhaps this breed of dog would make a nice buddy for Baylee if and when we decided to get another dog, but I am partial to a little bit bigger of a dog like retrievers so I don't know about getting a little dog. It's not just me.

Okay, so I suppose you are all just dying to hear how I made out with the Icon Fitness people on Monday when I got home.

I was on hold for 55 minutes. In that time I did my post run stretches, watched three episodes of Judge Judy, and baked three chicken breast in the oven and made a salad.  So, I guess the time wasn't a complete waste.

I had already known that downloading too many workouts could jam things up and cause my treadmill to react. On my end I only saw my three current workouts but on their end, there were more. The customer service rep deleted those on her end and I was able to start fresh.  I had her on the phone while I walked .3 miles and felt bad keeping her hanging on the phone.  It seemed to work fine. So far so good.

After work on Tuesday I came home and rested 10 minutes on the sofa while Baylee and I shared a handful of Animal Crackers. I really didn't feel like going for a run. I felt exhausted from work and over heated (it was hot at work and I had a rough day with the 8th graders). I had a good run on Monday so felt like I earned a rest day. But that darn weather beckoned me to get outside. We don't always have such beautiful weather in February so I needed to take advantage, especially since it looked like it might rain later in the week.

I made a deal with myself that I would only have to run three miles. I ran around only the paved paths on the island and I felt fine afterwards. Refreshed actually.  I guess it's true, no one ever regrets going for a run.

Wednesday it was also nice but I just wanted to get some quick miles at home so I fired up the treadmill. I didn't even use the ifit program because i wanted to watch Judge Judy instead.

I took Thursday as a rest day but I didn't even rest. I actually spent all afternoon /evening in the kitchen cooking. I made home made potato soup (for later), tomato and basil pasta, salad (for that night), and shortcake for some berries I had.

We had plans to go out with friends on Friday evening so I fired up the treadmill again to get some quick miles in. I was excited to use the iFit maps.  Let's just say I am continuing to be frustrated with iFit. It is NOT fixed.

The maps were not working properly and the treadmill stopped several times so the incline would calibrate (which never happened before).  I started it over several times and couldn't even get a full mile in without it shutting down.  Since I now know Icon Fitness is not open on Saturdays I called immediately (since it was still during business hours). I could not even get through but now that I think about it, I do know the Verizon towers were down due to some storms in the area.

This was enough to make me frustrated all weekend! I will NOT be defeated by this iFit program. I have too much time and money invested at this point! Stay tuned as I am sure the saga will continue this week. Oh, for those of you keeping track, I started dealing with this on New Years Day. Will I get it resolved before the official start of Spring? Before Summer?   -M

Have you had the girl scout flavored coffee's yet? (I know I will be cheating on Starbucks with Dunkin for the next few weeks).

Do you prefer small dogs or medium/large dogs (like retriever size)?  (I say medium/large because I do not mean LARGE dogs like Great Danes or St Bernards.

We will be linking up with Wendy and Holly for their weekly wrap!

  1. Oh no! Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your 'mill. I hope it gets resolved soon!

We don't have Dunkin in our area, which is probably a good thing. I would be all over those coffees!!

  2. Oh man, that iFit sounds so frustrating! Can you use your treadmill without it?

I haven't tried the flavored coffees--I'm kind of coffee and cream girl. Nothing else in mine.

    1. Yes, I can use the treadmill without the program which I suppose is what i will end up doing!

  3. I am SO sorry to hear about the ongoing iFit drama. I can only imagine how frustrating that must be :(

I haven't heard of those new flavors at Dunkin Donuts - I might have to pick up one of those drinks this week!

  4. Gosh...the drama continues with the iFit? I would be head-over-heels frustrated and done with it LOL My patience for technology is pretty nill. As for dogs, I did not grow up with one, so our experience with Max is brand new for me. He's pretty much a lap dog, and I can't imagine anything bigger.

  5. I cant believe you're still having trouble with the iFit. How frustrating! Glad you were able to get in some good runs this week, especially outdoors.

    1. Outdoor runs are always better anyway, but the treadmill thing has been frustrating!

  6. It's not funny but I was laughing at how productive you were while waiting on hold! That's a whole lotta stuff you got accomplished. Sorry the ifit drama continues. I'm going to have to go to dunkin and try some of this coffee out! I usually drink sbux because hubs prefers it (coffee is coffee to me lol).

  7. A potato soup sounds so yummy, Lacey and Meranda! Reading about your week so so awesome and I really enjoyed the read. I personally prefer small dogs as they are very cute! :)

  8. I love the peanut butter Girl Scout Cookies so that drink sounds like heaven. Sorry that the drama saga continues with iFit, this isn't really a ringing endorsement for them. I hope it gets fixed next week

    1. No, it is not a good endorsement at all. I hope it is something that can be fixed AGAIN!

  9. I didn't know that Dunkin was doing GS cookie flavored coffees! I'm totally out of the loop. I may have to head over there to check one out!

I love how much you did while you were on hold! I was once on hold for 45 minutes waiting for someone at Lenox and I put my phone on speaker phone and did laundry, emptied the dishwasher, etc. Ha! No one says you have to hold the phone up to your ear and stand there the whole time.

I'm sorry you're still having so much drama with all that! And I'm really trying to picture (or not picture) how it all went down to produce a miniature labradoodle...... lol

    1. I actually showered while on hold with iFit one other time! I got out, got dressed, blew my hair dry and was still on hold!

  10. I grew up with two medium/large dogs with a beagle mix and a golden retriever/collie mix, so I am partial. I don't mind some terriers either. They're small dogs who think they're big dogs.

  11. Well I know where I'm going post swim tomorrow morning--that peanut butter frozen coffee sounds amazing. I prefer medium/large sized dogs--I have a beagle and a lab mix.

  12. I haven't been to Dunkin Donuts in a while for coffee, but now I need to go. Sounds yummy. I hope you get iFit answers. You certainly have paid your dues with that one. Maybe you'll just have to stick with Judge Judy. Thanks for linking!

  13. That whole treadmill thing just sounds like it's way more trouble than it's worth! Can you just return it at this point and get your money back?

  17. Think about the full-size Labradoodle or Goldendoodle if you want a bigger dog. I'm an enabler. Haha! OMG I can't believe you're still struggling with the iFit. I think they should give you a new unit. Send these posts to them. Or tweet to them. This is beyond ridiculous.

    1. I'm sure I'll end up with some retriever (golden or lab) for sure! At this point I don't know if it is the unit that is failing, it is the programming!

  18. We have a medium sized dog (45 pound vizsla) who is a great running companion, but I often think it would be fun to get a little dog as her companion...we used to have cats and they both died so I think our dog is lonely for a friend!

That treadmill issue sounds really frustrating...hopefully it works now! Good luck!

  19. Oh no! You need to get those maps fixed! My treadmill motor completely died last week and I spent all Saturday buying a new one!

  20. I personally wouldn't continue to pour my time into the ifit -- although I get the wanted to get it working thing -- and I definitely wouldn't feel guilty on keeping them on the line!

Obviously, we like little dogs. And for many reasons: eat less, poop less, tend to live longer, never going to pull me anywhere, if they get sick or injured easy to carry, easier to travel with (especially if you have to fly with them, which we did to move here).

Most people don't like little dogs because they consider them too nasty/hyper/barky (all of which can be do; a lot of it has to do with how they're raised). We have converted more than one person to little dogs. :)

    And I consider a retriever a big dog. :)

Interesting side note: we initially chose small dogs for all the reasons above, and one more: our cats were pretty big, so we chose dogs that were smaller & hence less likely to be intimidating to Giz (Simba could've cared less). That's one area where I think larger dogs, when they're adults, do tend to be a bit less hyper and often not as interested or chase-y (although definitely depends on the dog & the breed).

    1. My labrador is a petite one so I don't consider her a large dog. We travel with her and she is not a problem but I do like the fact that I could take a small dog on a plane with me if I wanted to!

  21. That's so frustrating that the ifit is still not working after all the time and money you've spent on it :( Sounds like there were some good things in the week to make up for it :) I haven't tried the Dunkin Donuts girl scout cookie flavored coffees but they sound amazing!

  22. I totally would have chucked the treadmill by now! Hope you get it fixed.

  23. Oh man, that's frustrating to have treadmill issues! Hope you can figure it out. The storm this weekend made training really tricky!

  24. Oh, that would be so frustrating! I saw a commercial for a treadmill that had really neat programs on it. I wonder if it's this same thing. It made me kind of wish we had room (or money) for a treadmill.

I'm a small dog kind of girl. :)

    1. Hmmm, I wonder what kind of treadmill it was? I don't even remember the last time I saw a treadmill commercial! Probably a good thing!

  25. Ggggrrrr!! That's so frustrating! You've got far more patience than I have! That frozen coffee looks so good right now! But I skipped my run today so I totally don't deserve one! Lol! I have 2 small dogs (maltese poodle/terriers) and 2 medium-large ones (dalmatian/pointer cross and a bassett hound). All of them over the age of ten, so they are getting on now.

I love Dunkin coffee :) I stop there a few times a week on my coffee days!

  27. You just can’t catch a break with this ifit thing!! I cannot imagine the frustration !!

I have only had one dog, and she was a medium size, about 20lbs. I have a rule, that I can’t have a dog that weights more than me... because I can to be able to carry it like a baby.

  28. I love all doggies! They are all cute and interesting in their own ways.

Question, did you PAY for this Icon thing or did it come with your treadmill? This is ridiculous!

I love that you watch Judge Judy. Would you listen to it if it had a podcast form?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yes, I have to pay for the module and then also pay for the subscription to the service!

Hmm, I never thought about listening to a judge judy podcast. Do they have such a thing?

  30. I can't get my head around peanut butter coffee ... OMG on the icon fitness saga. I will stay tuned.

  31. I can't believe the icon fitness saga continues! I always wanted a small "purse sized" dog. But, when I got my first Border Collie, I fell in love with the breed.
