It’s always sad to see a year come to an end, especially
when it was a really great year!
I don’t know what this next year will hold, but I know there
will definitely be some good things that I will be finding joy in.
1 1. I’m gonna start this one out by saying I’m
excited for this new season of Nashville. Who else is with
me on this one? I’ve missed this show!
2 2. A new semester of Students. Each January starts
a new semester and I’ll have a different group of students. I have to say that
the students I have now are pretty great so I’m crossing my fingers that the
next ones that come in are just as amazing.
3 3. New races. I’m going to have some “new to me”
races on my calendar this year.
4 4. Mini Race-cations. This goes along with #2. I’m
saying “mini” race-cations because I don’t have any Disney races on my schedule
for next year (at least not yet anyway), so all of my race cations should be
just long weekends, nothing very lengthy.
5 5. Lastly, I think 2017 will be the year that we
finally get a puppy! It’s been over a year and a half since Baylee lost her
buddy and we (mainly Scott) think, she needs a new buddy. I am not at all excited about the prospects
of having a puppy but I admit it will be nice (for me and for Baylee) to have
another full grown dog in the house.
What is something you are looking forward to this year? -M

New races and race-cations are so exciting! I love planning out all the fun things I want to do in the new year. I am hoping I can plan a fun race for the fall!
ReplyDeleteYea, I'm hoping I can make. Some of them happen!
DeleteI'm excited for you and your family to get a puppy! I do not get new kids in January but I do move their seats around so it is a fresh start.
ReplyDeleteWe need to do what we can to keep things exciting!
DeletePUPPY! You know I love a good puppy. Though it might be difficult with all the racecations, but that is when you let Scott take care of it. Hey, he wanted the puppy, right??
ReplyDeleteI won't worry about the puppy when it comes to race-cations because I'm sure we'll find a sitter. It's Baylee that I worry about because I hate leaving her.
DeleteI do love my puppy! But they are a lot of work...you know about that! But so much love...
ReplyDeleteYes, a lot of work!
DeleteAwh.....another bundle of fur? ;-) We've had Max for almost 2 years (January 24th is our "gotcha day" with him), and it's been such a great ride. We adopted him from a shelter, so we didn't get the "puppy" experience, though....I'm alright with that LOL
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind getting an older dog but part of me sees the value in a puppy and having it learn from Baylee!
DeleteI love putting new races on my schedule! Hope you get that puppy :) Thanks for the linkup
ReplyDeleteYes, lots of new things in 2017!
DeleteI'm looking at some new races this year too. And maybe a new dog later in the year. Oh, we were excited to see Nashville back - we haven't watched it yet though!
ReplyDeleteLooks like we have a lot in common!
DeleteOh a new puppy!! So exciting. And that's super exciting about the new races. I have some new ones this year too. Exciting and terrifying at the same time :) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited but not terrified. Mile are miles no matter where you run them (that's what I keep telling myself).
DeleteNashville! YES! I am so excited!! A new puppy sounds like fun, too! :)
ReplyDeleteDid you enjoy the first episode?
DeleteYES about Nashville! I missed it so much. Stoked it sitting on the DVR!
ReplyDeletePuppy life is NUTS! We are STILL taking turns getting up in the middle of the night to let the princess Makena Rose out. :-) She's 5+ months....
Yea, I'm not looking forward to that part.
DeleteSounds like some fun times ahead! 😊🎉
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping!
DeleteYay for new races and mini-racecations! I like the little weekend getaways for races because they end up seeming less stressful than a full vacation. I look forward to cute puppy photos :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I am beginning to like the long weekend trips as well.
DeleteI also want to get a second dog this year! Selma loves playing with other dogs and when we visit family who have dogs, so she needs a sister.
ReplyDeleteIt was really nice when we had two dogs. They were great pals.
DeleteOk, I guess I'm going to have get on the Nashville bandwagon! I have several friends who watch it and couldn't be pulled away from it even if the house was on fire! :) It must be quite entertaining!
ReplyDeleteYay for a new puppy ...especially if it's another lab. They truly are the best dogs!! Can't wait to see what you get! Thanks for the linkup!
It most likely would be another yellow lab.
DeleteThe Bolder Boulder is a new to me race, but I'm also thinking of doing another Colorado race in the fall. Even small 5k's will be fun because it'll give me another way to explore around Boulder and Denver.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll be able to find lots of new races up there!
DeleteOHHHHH... so exciting the idea of a new puppy. We are always on the hunt for another aussie puppy. Harvey needs the puppy energy in the house to wear his out.
ReplyDelete& PUPPY BAYLEE!!! SWOON!!!!
I DVR'ed Nashville & cant wait to watch it!
I do love that picture of puppy Baylee!
DeleteOh... a new puppy!!! So much fun, but so much work. I'm looking forward to some new races for me and running my first marathon!
ReplyDeleteWow, running your first marathon this year is huge!
DeleteAww Baylee needs a new friend! Wow that would be cool, what breed are you leaning towards?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the link up! Hope to participate more this year!
We are a lab family so it would be hard to make any other choice.
DeleteYou have just killed me dead with that picture of puppy Baylee - she was soooooooo cute! Ah, I just love puppies (and yes, I've totally put all the chewing/training/potty issues out of my head). What a fun thing to look forward too!
ReplyDeleteBaylee really was a great puppy and we had no issues with her ( if you ask me). If you ask my husband he'll tell you about all the holes she chewed in the carpet and every time she peed when he looked at her...haha
DeleteOoh, a new puppy would be lovely! Training them is frustrating, but they are so worth it in the end!
ReplyDeleteI agree, so worth it!
DeleteI love Nashville!! I'm afraid that I don't get that channel :(
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to a few race-cations and many local races.
Nashville is now on CMT. You might be able to watch it online.
DeleteA new puppy sounds like so much fun! This year, I'm really looking forward to continuing to make my new house a home and getting more active in my community!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like fun. I have some home projects I hope to get done as well.
DeletePuppy are as much work as they are fun. :) Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'll report back how it turns out!
Delete2016 went by way too fast! New races are always fun to look forward too! I'm looking forward to running my next marathon and it will be a new race for me. :)
ReplyDeleteYou aren't kidding! 2016 was practically a blur.
DeleteAwww puppy Baylee is so adorable!! <3
ReplyDeleteThanks! We love her SO much!
DeleteI need to watch Nashville! I've heard so many great things!
ReplyDeleteI hope this season continues to be just as good.
DeleteYes we are hoping that the new puppy can learn from Baylee. I like Baylee as a puppy but I get more of the warm fuzzies when I look at her as an adult dog!
ReplyDeleteYay a puppy!!! Oh I hope you get a puppy!!
ReplyDeleteA puppy! Awesome. I was feeling down that I didn't have much planned and then I did the same theme and realized I have a lot of good things in the first half of the year planned already (and some training to do!)
ReplyDeleteA new puppy is awesome! And so are mini race-cations. I'm so close to Florida that Disney races can be mini vacations for me, but I'd love to do some new-to-me races this year, too.
ReplyDeleteYay for new puppies!!! I can't wait to see photos!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to new adventures in 2017 as well! This includes grand babies and yes, I would love a puppy too! I am starting to plan the year and the excitement just makes me :)
