Things to look forward to in 2017: Friday 5

It’s always sad to see a year come to an end, especially when it was a really great year!
I don’t know what this next year will hold, but I know there will definitely be some good things that I will be finding joy in.

1   1.  I’m gonna start this one out by saying I’m excited for this new season of Nashville. Who else is with me on this one? I’ve missed this show!

2  2.  A new semester of Students. Each January starts a new semester and I’ll have a different group of students. I have to say that the students I have now are pretty great so I’m crossing my fingers that the next ones that come in are just as amazing.

3   3.  New races. I’m going to have some “new to me” races on my calendar this year.

4   4. Mini Race-cations. This goes along with #2. I’m saying “mini” race-cations because I don’t have any Disney races on my schedule for next year (at least not yet anyway), so all of my race cations should be just long weekends, nothing very lengthy.

Puppy Baylee. I didn't realize how much I'd love this dog.

5     5.   Lastly, I think 2017 will be the year that we finally get a puppy! It’s been over a year and a half since Baylee lost her buddy and we (mainly Scott) think, she needs a new buddy.  I am not at all excited about the prospects of having a puppy but I admit it will be nice (for me and for Baylee) to have another full grown dog in the house.

What is something you are looking forward to this year? -M

  2. I'm excited for you and your family to get a puppy! I do not get new kids in January but I do move their seats around so it is a fresh start.

  3. PUPPY! You know I love a good puppy. Though it might be difficult with all the racecations, but that is when you let Scott take care of it. Hey, he wanted the puppy, right??

    1. I won't worry about the puppy when it comes to race-cations because I'm sure we'll find a sitter. It's Baylee that I worry about because I hate leaving her.

  4. I do love my puppy! But they are a lot of work...you know about that! But so much love...

  5. Awh.....another bundle of fur? ;-) We've had Max for almost 2 years (January 24th is our "gotcha day" with him), and it's been such a great ride. We adopted him from a shelter, so we didn't get the "puppy" experience, though....I'm alright with that LOL

    1. I wouldn't mind getting an older dog but part of me sees the value in a puppy and having it learn from Baylee!

    1. I'm excited but not terrified. Mile are miles no matter where you run them (that's what I keep telling myself).

Puppy life is NUTS! We are STILL taking turns getting up in the middle of the night to let the princess Makena Rose out. :-) She's 5+ months....

  12. Yay for new races and mini-racecations! I like the little weekend getaways for races because they end up seeming less stressful than a full vacation. I look forward to cute puppy photos :)

  13. I also want to get a second dog this year! Selma loves playing with other dogs and when we visit family who have dogs, so she needs a sister.

  14. Ok, I guess I'm going to have get on the Nashville bandwagon! I have several friends who watch it and couldn't be pulled away from it even if the house was on fire! :) It must be quite entertaining!

Yay for a new puppy ...especially if it's another lab. They truly are the best dogs!! Can't wait to see what you get! Thanks for the linkup!

  15. The Bolder Boulder is a new to me race, but I'm also thinking of doing another Colorado race in the fall. Even small 5k's will be fun because it'll give me another way to explore around Boulder and Denver.

  19. You have just killed me dead with that picture of puppy Baylee - she was soooooooo cute! Ah, I just love puppies (and yes, I've totally put all the chewing/training/potty issues out of my head). What a fun thing to look forward too!

    1. Baylee really was a great puppy and we had no issues with her ( if you ask me). If you ask my husband he'll tell you about all the holes she chewed in the carpet and every time she peed when he looked at her...haha

  20. Ooh, a new puppy would be lovely! Training them is frustrating, but they are so worth it in the end!

  29. A puppy! Awesome. I was feeling down that I didn't have much planned and then I did the same theme and realized I have a lot of good things in the first half of the year planned already (and some training to do!)

  30. A new puppy is awesome! And so are mini race-cations. I'm so close to Florida that Disney races can be mini vacations for me, but I'd love to do some new-to-me races this year, too.
