Welcome to Gran Destino Tower, a part of a moderate Disney resort that feels more like a deluxe. Let's dive right in! The entrance to the tower and the check in for the tower rooms and the village rooms.
There is the Village part of the resort, which mimics every other Disney moderate resort where you access your rooms through exterior doors ( motel style buildings). These three different building types are Casitas, Ranchos, and Cabanas
Then there is the Destino Tower part of the resort which is located in the main building and rooms are all accessed by interior doors, sort of like a high rise apartment.
This is the main check in counter for both the Village and the Destino Tower.
We have stayed in the Village many times before, so this time we were treating ourselves to a stay in one of the tower rooms!
Check out this elevator panel for Destino Tower! When you get to the elevator bank, you press the number of the floor you want to go to.
It will then indicate to you which elevator you should take to get to your floor. I think there are four elevators available.
This is the hallway leading us to our room in the tower! It is giving off a Spanish vibe!Let's check out our room!
It was a very spacious room. It's definitely larger than any of the moderates.
Our tower room had one king size bed and a pull out sofa.
We did not end up needing the pull out sofa so I can not attest to how comfortable it was!
One thing a deluxe room would have had that this tower room did not, was a balcony. We had a large picture window instead.
This was our beautiful view! I almost wish we would have spent more time in our room, but of course when we are at Disney there are so many other things to do outside of the room!
The bathroom area was very spacious as well.
The glass shower was nice, but of course takes away your privacy if you want other members of your party to be able to use the vanity to get ready ( or need to use the toilet), while you are showering. This part of the set up was not very smart. Although, I recall having a similar set up when we stayed in the Incredibles room at Disney's Contemporary Resort. You can see that room HERE.
Some of the best bathroom set-ups were at our room at The Boardwalk Inn and our room at Saratoga Springs Resorts.
What else is in the Destino Tower?
Well, The Destino Tower is also the home to a new restaurant and a few lounges.
DISNEY TIP: Disney's Coronado Springs has the most places to eat at any of the Disney Resorts ( This is true at the time of this posting). We will do another post in the future featuring them all.
On the ground floor of the tower building, just down the stairs from the check in counter, is Barcelona Lounge. This is more of a coffee/espresso bar and has some other specialty drinks.
On the top floor of the tower itself you will find the Dahlia Lounge, Here you can get specialty drinks, including specialty coffees, and tapas, (small plates).
Across the hall you will find Toledo-Tapas, Steak, and Seafood. This is more of a full service restaurant.
There is also a fitness center located in the tower, although we didn't have time to check it out.
We'll be back soon to talk about all the restaurant's at this resort. In the mean time, please feel free to check out our room in the Casitas. You can see that HERE.
Till next time! ~ M and L
