Friday 5

Greetings folks! We are blogging on the run today, literally. As you know we are at Disney this weekend and since the theme of the Friday 5 is "Favorite City" we of course thought we would write about Orlando, specifically Disney.

We are going to mention 5 not so popular Disney attractions that we love.

1. Where's the Fire. This attraction has been a favorite of ours for years. It is basically a large playhouse that you run around trying to find fire hazardous! So much fun for kids and adults. It is located in the Innovations Building in Epcot.

2. Visa Character meet and greet. If you aren't a Disney visa card member, you should be. One of the perks of having the Disney visa is being able to go to the special character meet and greet. You will get a free 5x7 photo of you and the characters. This is also located in the innovations building in Epcot.

3. O Canada 360 circle vision. Most people tend to skip the attractions that are movies, but this one is a good one. It is a 360 movie screen that shows the landscapes of Canada. So beautiful! This is located
in the Canada pavilion in Epcot.

4.Biergarten. This is a restaurant in the Germany pavilion at Epcot and if you time your dining just right you will get a dinner show!

5. Pick a Pearl. A must do during every visit is to stop by the Japan pavilion in Epcot. We choose an oyster she'll from out of the tank and always find a beautiful pearl inside. We have quite a collection.

What is your favorite "less popular" attraction at
disney?

We are linking up with the gals from the DC trifecta.

  2. My favorite is people mover since most people don't really like that ride. We do have the Via card but always forget to go get our free pic. Maybe net month! Have a great time doing goofy Challenge ladies!

    2. Ha! I love the people mover, too! I don't even know why, but I do. It's great when you are tired and there's never a line. Plus, it moves a faster pace, so it's still like a real ride.

    3. I love the People Mover! Surprisingly the past two times we've gone there has been a line. I was shocked!

  3. Great list of "less knowns". Always love circle-vision and only got better when they added Martin Short. The pick a pearl is a very fun little thing too. Cool to just watch a little but also to get to pick one.

I love so much of Disney it's hard to pick a favorite of the less popular, but I do love singing along to the Carousel of Progress, though the last scene needs and update. The "video game" kills me every time. Makes the programmer in me twinge a little, haha. I'm also a big fan of the "classic" rides, though many of them are plenty popular with the little ones.

    1. We love to sing at Carousel of Progress...my kids think it is so corny. It does need updating! We also love to sing the Imagination song over at EPCOT.

  4. When I was little my family went to Disney and Epcot, and I LOVED to pick a pearl from that Japan pavilion. I still remember how excited I was about it. Have an AWESOME time this weekend, ladies. I will be cheering you both on from snowy, cold Pittsburgh. :-)

  6. Its very hard to pick! I miss the old rides they've closed over the years. When I was young, you had ticket books and the "E" tickets were for the best rides! Delta had a Flying ride (which is now Buzz - I think) that I loved.

  7. Oh... I always do skip the epcot movies. I'll have to check out the Canada one next time. Or of my favorite things to do in Epcot is check out the japan store. They have a lot of unusual, cool things and we generally buy some candy as a souvenir.

  8. I loved Maelstrom, but obviously won't be able to go there again :( I love the Muppets too, and there's never really a crowd anymore at Muppet Vision 3-D.

  9. I love O Canada. It almost makes me forget how much I hate cold weather and contemplate moving to BC.

Have to try the pearl pick next time I'm in Epcot.

  10. The only time I was in Orlando, I think the only park I got to go to was the MGM. Aerosmith roller coaster was totally fun! Next time, I'll def check out WDW. Have a great weekend!

  13. I have been enviously reading a lot of tweets from people who are in Orlando for the marathon or Dopey Challenge. It sounds like such an incredible experience! I don't think I could ever do the Dopey Challenge, but I would love to do the WDW Marathon some day.

    Have fun!!

  15. Having only been once, I do remember enjoying some of the Epcot world movies and things. Mostly because they are a great break to get off your feet, and sit in an air conditioned room:)
I do remember the pearl thing though, but I can't remember if we got one or not:)
Have fun on your trip and good luck in your races!

  16. I've never been to Disney, but I see it being in our future at some point. My son is 3.5. But I have friends who go regularly and they love it. We love Hershey Park so I can only imagine how much we would love Disney! Picking a pearl sounds like so much fun!

  21. I love the Canada circlevision. There used to be an America one at Disneyland. Also the Peoplemover! I'm very irritated with the Disney Visa right now. Too long a story, but I'm debating keeping it or getting rid of it. Have a great trip!
