If it wasn't for our friends Robert and Alyssa, from Here with the Ears, I would have never even thought about going to Geyser Point, which is the Bar and Grill at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.
As soon as we booked our stay at Wilderness Lodge, I knew we had to dine at Geyser Point for one particular item, it was the Bison burger. Robert and Alyssa raved about this burger so many times on their channel. My dad would be coming with us on this trip and I really thought the burger would be something he would enjoy!
Geyser point is an outdoor restaurant behind the Wilderness Lodge main building. It is outdoor, but it does have a roof covering. Thank goodness for that because it rained really hard while we were there.
No reservations are needed for this place. It is casual. There is a walk up window you can order from while you are hanging buy the pool or want to take food back to you room. There is also a patio, which is where we ate. These are not traditional restaurant style tables and chairs, they are more like casual seating sets you would find on your patios at home.
Just wanted to make note of that because the table might be the same level as the chair you are sitting in, which was the case for us.
The main reason we went to this restaurant was for the Bison Burger. I'm not big into burgers, I rarely order one when I go out to eat, but I thought this would be something my dad would enjoy and I wanted him to try it.
My dad, my mom, and myself each ordered the Bison Burger, and my sister ordered a steak sandwich.
This was actually called the Bison Cheeseburger. It was served with bacon, sweet crispy onion straws, marionberry sauce, and garlic aiolo. ( Marionberry is similar to Blackberries or Boysenberries and in all honesty, I didn't even remember this was on the burger as it didn't make that much of an impression on me! It was also served with a side of fries.
Bison is a leaner meat and therefore probably a healthier choice than a regular burger. My parents both thought it was good, but I could tell it was nothing they were jumping up and down about. I am not a burger connoisseur, but personally, I thought it was a little dry. This would make sense, seeing it has less fat than a regular burger. It was a nice meal for us, but I didn't think the burger lived up to all the hype I had previously heard about it.
My sister enjoyed her steak sandwich.
While we waited for the rain to subside, We decided to share some of the featured desserts.
We got the campfire mousse and the lemon meringue tart. Both were very tasty. I like how the Campfire Mouse came with some chocolate dust and candy rocks!
Funny story, when we had finished up our meal, we had a little visitor at our table. No, this was not a character meal, but we did have a little character!
This squirrel just hopped up onto our table and decided to steal a French Fry. It was the funniest thing, It wasn't even afraid of us.
We really enjoyed hanging out here as a family. The rain was actually a nice touch. I say this because I don't mind the rain!
Here is the Full Menu for Geyser Point. I noticed the price for the burgers and some other things have increased since our visit there.
Have you ever been to Geyser Point Bar and Grill or visited any other restaurant at Wilderness Lodge?
Till next time! ~M
