A Peek Inside

What did we do this week?

You all know my week last week was full of heart ache. I did go to the gym two times, did a 3 mile run and a 5 mile walk and spent the rest of the week consoling Baylee. The weekend picked up a little as I saw an old friend, went to a Maroon 5 concert, and then met Blogger Meg ( from Meg Go Run).  We got together at a park and did a very long walk and talked a lot! She is SO sweet! We could have stayed there all day but it was like 100 degrees and we were both dripping with sweat after a couple of hours. Yes we talked and walked for hours!  -M

Saturday morning I woke up and had to teach Body Pump. Usually after Body Pump I teach RPM(cycling) but there was a Zumba party going on so I thought I would take that. After taking it, I've mad the conclusion that I am not coordinated nor have any rhythm. There were many people there that didn't have the coordination as well so I didn't feel too out of place. It doesn't matter what you do, as long as you get out there and do it. Zumba may not be my thing but I think it is a great workout for people that want to just have fun and dance. After class I felt that I didn't get the most out of a cardio workout so I ended up running four miles around town. -L

The rest of the day I had a quiet afternoon and watched a couple movies. The next morning I planned on doing a semi long run, but I slept in too long and only managed to complete three miles. It was way to hot and humid! I came home and made buffalo chicken dip for the Eagles game that afternoon. We just relaxed and watched the game. I was sent a pair of compression socks in the Rock n Blog box that were way to big for me, but they fit Bad Ass perfect!

This was the first time he ever tried them on and he wouldn't stop talking about them the rest of the day about how good they felt after all the running he has been doing. He always sees me wearing them and I think he felt like he was missing out by not having a pair. Well now he does. My sister and I were both sent a Rock n Blog running box filled with goodies. I was happy to be able to share some of them with him. Let's take a look inside and see what else Competitor was generous enough to send us!

Compression socks, lots of fuel and goodies, a gift card, a battery charger for all our devices, and a really cool running hat by Brooks.

This is why I thought this hat was so cool, it has a zipper in it. I've never seen a hat with a zipper in it before. I believe it would be difficult to store fuel or something I would need for a run inside it but it might be convenient to store a key in it.

And of course we received Rock n Blog tech shirts!

How was your weekend?

A Peek in Our Week

This is where we do a little recap of how our week went down.

This week went by SO fast that it seemed like it was one big blur.  I had the house to myself this week so I had plans to get SO much accomplished but that didn't really happen. -M

In the midst of all the busyness, I did manage to continue to ride my bike for a good portion of the week even if it meant getting up early and ridding a few miles before I started work. I have been more relaxed about the stretching this week which I know is BAD. I chalk this up for being pressed for time, but that is no excuse when it comes to your health and well being. -M

Speaking of health and well being. I start my first personal training session tomorrow. You may remember me saying that I was finished with physical therapy, well now I am going to the same place to work with a trainer. Apparently I'm going to learn new stretches and how to do different things with the equipment. From what it sounds like,  it seems to me that these are the things I should have been learning while in physical therapy, right? But seeing that I'm in the situation I'm in, I'll never turn down an opportunity to get help ! -M

One of the most fun things I did this week was some fashion writing. I have always wanted to write for a catalog and give descriptions of clothing.  Well, I didn't get to do it for an actual catalog, but I did do it for a website called Shoptiques.

I got to go through all these clothes and accessories, give them names and write a fancy description like " No trip to the beach is complete without this polyester blend cover up with seashell detailing". (that's not really what I wrote, but you get the picture).
Coming up with creative names for some of these items was harder than I thought. I did go to Instagram and get some advice though. I couldn't think of anything for this top but every time I looked at it I thought of the Jungle Cruise for some reason, so that is what I ended up naming it. Jungle Cruise! -M

Remember me saying that I was going to do the Bad Ass 5 mile run sponsored by Gone For A Run with my "Bad Ass" Friend?  We had plans to run together and then finish at our favorite park where my sister was going to create a faux finish line and give us our medals. Well, things didn't go quite as planned and we didn't end up running together.  Because our schedules just didn't seem to match up, I ended up doing all 5 miles by myself. I just did my normal route around town and back.

It was just me, my Garmin and my ipod and I took it pretty easy. It was nothing special and I'm sorry I don't have anything fun to report back about it. Maybe next time.   -L

It has been super hot here lately and I have been loving every minute of it. Has it been hot where you are? Is it humid? If so, you may love our AWESOME GIVEWAY we'll have up tomorrow. We'll be participating in another Giveaway hop with Kristy from Runaway Bridal Planner and several other bloggers. Be sure to visit back tomorrow to see what all the cool giveaways are! -L

Tell us something cool that you did this week? Have you been keeping up with your workouts during this hot weather?

Peek In Our Week and a Dilema

Hey friends! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Lacey ran RnR Nashville yesterday and has made it home safely and I finished up our costumes for our next race.  There is something that has been weighing heavily on my mind lately. I have been thinking about this all week and pretty soon I am going to be

A Peek in Our Week and Last Call For Skirts

Welcome to another edition of a Peek in our Week!

I had a relaxing week/weekend visiting family. I had a doctor, dentist, and chiropractor appointment.-L

I refrained from running  all week because of my knee pain. I finally did a short run today and with a lot of Tiger Balm on my knee it went okay. -L

The most exciting thing was probably getting a friend signed up for their very first half marathon!-L

My mom, sister, and I got all our bits and pieces around for our Princess races this month. We had some skirt problems so some things got re-arranged. We hope to post some pics of the final outfit decisions once we get everything we need. -L

Speaking of Skirts........ If you want a fabulous Skirt for any of the Disney races, contact Amy from RockCitySkirts.com.  She can make any character design.  She's pretty busy right now making skirts for the Princess half marathon weekend, but if you order by tomorrow, you should still be able to get the skirt delivered to you before you leave for PHM ( of course this depends when you are leaving for the race).

But if you already have costumes planned for PHM, you can always keep these in mind for a future Disney race!

Oh, and one more thing. We apologize for the random blog posts this week. As I was playing around on the Polyvore website, every item I selected seem to want to publish itself to the blog right away. I'm working on trying to fix that. Also, Lacey got a new phone this week and her comments are not exactly linking back up to our blog. As you know we are not "techy" people so it may take us a while to figure these things out.   -M

We hope you all had a fabulous weekend. What did you this weekend?

A Peek in our Week

I have been doing a little  Early Spring Cleaning. I worked on a few rooms down in our basement ( a repairman was coming so that kind of gave me the nudge I needed to clean things up a bit), I worked on redecorating my bathroom, cleaning up and re-organizing my dressing room, and re-decorating my living room. You may have recalled in December that I painted the living room, well, now that marathon training is over I've been concentrating on decorating, hanging drapes, buying furnishings, etc. -M

Every night this week I have become in the habit of icing my knees before bed and then taking 2 IBuprofen right before I fall asleep. I can't say I feel great by any means but my legs are not cramping up in the middle of the night anymore. And when I say cramping up, I am using that term loosely as it really feels like there is a knot in my leg and that my leg literally locks up to where I can not move it.-M

On a brighter note I got a new icepack yesterday and it is FABULOUS! Who knew one could get so excited over an ice pack? -M

I've stopped riding my exercise bike for a while. I would ride in the evening and then my legs would hurt worse at night time. I'm going to give it a rest until I go see my Ortho and see what he has to say about it. -M

Speaking of Ortho, I've called everyday this week to see if someone had cancelled. We got some snow this week so I thought perhaps there was a little old lady out there  somewhere that wouldn't be able to make it to her appointment. Turns out, no one cancels because of a little snow.  We are suppose to get more snow tonight and into tomorrow so perhaps someone might cancel then. Fingers crossed! -M

I have SO much work to do this week that it is starting to stress me out. I'm doing work for this new magazine called "How To".  My articles are How to choose a Lawyer, How to choose the right insurance agent, and How to pick a hearing aid, all things I know nothing about. On top of that I have my articles for my regular magazine that I write for and my Fashion column is due in a few days and I don't even have a topic picked out! Ugg!.  Perhaps I should spend less time cleaning and decorating! -M

After having some leg pain, the highlight of my week was finally getting a massage! That is all. -L

What was the highlight of your week?
