Steak House 71 at Disney's Contemporary Resort

We originally made reservations at the new Steak House 71 (Formerly the Wave) at Disney's Contemporary resort to celebrate Father's Day with our dad.  However, our parent's flight got changed to a different time and they needed to leave earlier than they expected, so we cancelled without penalty.

After our parents headed to the airport, we hung out at Wilderness Lodge for a while before heading out for a late lunch ourselves. Although we cancelled our reservation for four, we thought we'd take a chance and see if just the two of us could get in to Steak House 71.  Turns out, we could walk right in!

Steak House 71 is located on the ground floor of the Contemporary, right off of the lobby.

The walkway to the restaurant has a very classic look to it with lots of black and white photos of Walt and Roy and the development of Disney World. It's definitely worth taking a look at.

The interior of the restaurant is sort of retro, yet classy with the different patterns in the carpet and wallpaper and the shape of the furniture and light fixtures.

They have a dining room and a bar area to eat at.

Since it was just the two of us, we chose to sit at the bar since there was no wait.

We were seated right away and given menus.

Sunshine punch

For our drinks, I had the Sunshine Punch which was orange sherbet, sprite, and house made Grenadine ($7).

5 legged goat drink, 5 legged Llama

Lacey got the 5 legged Llama, which is a play to the 5 legged goat, Mary Blair painting in the concourse of the Contemporary.

The drink was a Joffrey's coffee cold brew, Maple Vanilla Syrup, and tonic water ($6).

I thought my drink was great but Lacey said her 5 Legged Llama was just okay.

menu salad, healthy option at Disney

For our meal, we both had the Steakhouse 71 Chopped Salad; chopped iceberg, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, carrots, dried cranberries, goat cheese, and white balsamic vinaigrette ($11).  I swapped out the goat cheese with another type of cheese.

Crab Cake sliders

We also had the Crab Cake sliders; lump crab cakes, old bay remoulade, tomato, pickled slaw, on a brioche bun ($19). The crab cakes also came with parmesan fries.  Instead of fries you could also have a petite wedge salad or pasta salad, but I would highly suggest getting the fries. They were very tasty and a fun addition to the meal.

Our server/bar tender was very attentive and we really enjoyed all our food and the atmosphere here!

Since we had a big dinning reservation later that evening, we decided to skip dessert!

We give this restaurant a 10 out of 10 and would return again. Hopefully next time our parents can join us!

Till next time -M
