Check out our room at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort

We are on a mission to stay at every Walt Disney World Resort on Property and this past week we got to check another one off our list.

We recently stayed 6 days at Disney's Saratoga Spring Resort and Spa.  FYI, there really is no longer a Spa, so perhaps a name change is in the future. ( you can read more about that in THIS POST that we wrote about the resort).

We stayed 6 days in a deluxe studio in the Carousel section. There are 6 sections of buildings at this resort (including the Tree Houses).  We did not put in a specific request, so this is where we ended up.

The theme at Saratoga Springs is horses, which is evident by the name of our building, the Carousel.  There were many other details around our room ( and the resort) that were in line with the theme here!

The Carousel buildings are the closest to the entrance of the resort but they are the furthest from the main building. Luckily, there is more than one pool and multiple snack bars throughout the property.

There were 4 floors in our building and we were on floor 3.  Saratoga Springs is considered a Disney deluxe resort, but unlike some other DVC properties, these rooms/buildings have external hallways, much like Disney's moderate and value resorts. This means you are not going into a building with a lobby, like Wilderness lodge, or Grand Floridian to access your room. You are accessing your room right from the outside. And FYI, there is an ice machine and vending on the first floor. We visited that ice machine often!

Let's check out this great room!

We entered the room through a little foyer. We were met with these wall hooks that look as if they are from a stable, which helped carry out the horse theme throughout our room.

Since this is a DVC room, we had a kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave, kitchen sink, toaster and coffee pot. It was also supplied with paper products, coffee, creamers, etc.

This came in handy as we ate breakfast in our room each day.

Across from the kitchenette was the vanity area.  We had plenty of space, but I do prefer having a double sink vanity.

In the closet we had an ironing board and iron ( which we used), and a vacuum ( which we did not use). There were enough hangers for us both to hang up our dresses.

split bathroom

To the left of the vanity area was the bathroom.

split bathroom, shower, tub

We had a tub with a shower. Although there were two shower heads, I believe only one of them works at a time. Neither one of us could figure out how to get both shower heads to work at the same time.  I guess that's part of Disney's commitment to conserve water..lol

The bedroom/living space was all one room.

I loved the beautifully upholstered headboard on this bed.  I even loved more of the horse detail with the art work above the bed.

queen size bed

We had one queen size bed and one Murphey bed that pulled down from the wall.

This was pretty cool. One minute it is a sofa, and then it pulls down to be a double size bed.

Look how cute the horse mural is on the headboard!

We also had a bench with drawers ( that I stored shoes in) and a very large dresser ( which we used every drawer).  The coffee table even lifted up for additional storage ( which we did not need).

Once again (just like our room at the Boardwalk Inn) we had an oversized balcony which we loved.

We had a water view.  We could also see the helium balloon at Disney Springs when it was up.

golf course view

In the other direction we could see some of the golf course.

We had a set of chairs and a small table on the balcony, but I was surprised we didn't have a table and chairs inside the room. .

We did have the sofa and the coffee table the could be lifted and lowered, so we ate on that when we needed to.

The studio was a perfect size for just the two of us and we really enjoyed this spacious room that was decorated so nicely. Maybe someday we will have an excuse to book ( or at least check out) one of the deluxe villas!

Till next time, M & L
