It seems that every year I try to be consistent in doing a monthly wrap. I started off pretty well in the beginning of 2021 and then half way through I couldn't keep up with it. Let's see how the monthly wraps go this year!
I do feel like January started off very strong. After being ill and feeling very weak the last few months of 2021, I made a commitment to do more exercise and come back stronger.
I started off with small goals, just wearing my Fitbit and getting my 10,000 steps in every day. As my body felt stronger, my activity increased. I know some people hate the treadmill but I actually love it.
With walking and jogging on the treadmill and some outdoor trails, I ended the month with 149.7 miles. I only added the miles up today, so had I known I was so close, to 150 I would have gone the extra.3 miles!
I also took two fitness classes at the gym and signed back up to attend full time in February!
Neither Lacey or I have any races on the horizon. I wanted to do a Shamrock race ( one that I've done before) but this year they are not allowing same day packet pickup ( even if you register ahead of time). That would mean I would have to drive an hour one way to pick up my race bib, and then turn around and do it again the next day for the race. That is not appealing to me so I guess I'll skip that race this year.
Things I've been loving in January:
We've been loving the Amazing Race. Of course we are rooting for the Holderness family, but we also like the Flight Attendants.
Lacey and I have also been watching AJLT. We've been long time fans of SATC but have mixed feelings about this new chapter they've created. If they come back with a 2nd season, of course we will watch, but if they don't, we won't be heartbroken.
We've had a few weather delays and days off of school already in January and the extra time off has been really nice.
I've been trying to be crafty and start trying to crochet. I use to know the basics of how to do it but never actually created anything. I'm hoping to get back into it but my hand -eye coordination is not what it use to be...lol
Tell me something about your January? What are you watching? Any new hobbies? -M
Linking up with Coco and Deborah for Coffee Talk.
Shoot, I saw previews for the Amazing Race, but totally forgot to tune-in to watch it. That was the one and only reality show I ever watched consistently, but I haven't watched it much in recent years due to scheduling. I"m glad to hear you're feeling better and stronger after your setback a few months ago.
ReplyDeleteI do believe Amazing Race is the only reality show I watch as well ( unless you count Judge Judy...lol).
DeleteOh, I do the same thing with my Garmin data. I never look at it in time to hit that next round number, but then wish I had! I haven’t watched Amazing Race in a while, but it is a fun show!
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining us for coffee!
It took me a minute to figure out how to see the monthly totals! Now I will start keeping track!
DeleteNice to see you back! Always feels good to set goals and achieve them.Keep at it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deborah! It does feel good!!
DeleteLOL I had to google AJLT--I didn't know what it stood for. I haven't been watching it, but its on my list. Right now we are watching Yellowstons, which is so good.
ReplyDeleteAmazing mileage for January!!! I need to up mine, that's for sure.
A lot of those are treadmill miles! I'd like to increase it each month!
DeleteI've been enjoying the Amazing Race too! I started watching AJLT but only made it through a couple of episodes before losing interest. I was a big fan of SATC, but am feeling pretty ambivalent about this sequel. Glad you're feeling better and stronger!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya on AJLT!
DeleteI'm glad to be back at it. It's been a good start to the year!
My husband is really into the Holdernesses. I wouldn't even know about them if it wasn't for him.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're feeling better! And it's nice to not always be poked at if I run on the treadmill -- I actually don't love running on the treadmill but it's better than not running at all (and safer than falling on ice) IMHO.
Looking forward to whatever you create. I used to be a knitting & crocheting fiend, but I got away from it when I lived in TX and I've just never gotten back to it despite trying a few times while we lived here. And I should -- I have yarn to use up!
Haha, I hope I am able to create something!
DeleteI hope the Holderness do so well - but yep, I can see why you like the flight attendants too. They're so confident.
ReplyDeleteOHHH - cant wait to see what you make crocheting! I still struggle with that - knitting is more my jive - but crochet goes so much faster!
Good job getting those steps in - I've made my goal 7500 in january - I need to start adding 500 each month - then I'll be at 10,000 by middle of the year
I think even 7500 steps is a good goal. I believe that is a 5k a day!
DeleteI'm glad you're feeling better and getting stronger! No races on the horizon for me either. I'm ready for spring! Haha!
ReplyDeleteI do think this winter is going fast and Spring will be here before we know it!
DeleteYou had a great month with that mileage! Way to go! I do not blame you for not wanting to do that race. One hour each way for two days is not appealing at all.
ReplyDeleteI was really hoping to sign up for some motivation, but I've been pretty motivated even without out, So I guess I will pass..lol
